yes i also tried other headphones in my iphone and same result and yes they was all the way in and by the way its an iphone 5 brand new

I can't hear people when they call me. How do I raise the volume with out using the head phones?
You can only raise and lower the earpiece volume while you are on a call. So, make a call, then use the bottons on the side to adjust the volume. If you're not in a call, those buttons will adjust the ringer/media volume.

Why is it that EXACTLY one year after the purchase of my iPod the head-phone jack seems to give in? I received my iPod last Christmas and upon looking at the receipt, am heartbroken to see that it was purchased on the 15th of December 2006. As the problem occurred on Sunday the 16th, I find it necessary to complain. Although Apple produce may look all sleek and flashy, the offer little in the support section. Customers are expected to fend for themselves on forums like these, without any intervention from a technical professional. As I love my music I am going to have to get it fixed, however, in Dublin, Apple offer little or nothing in services for reparations.
Does anyone know how much it may cost to repair the headphone jack (which has never happened in any other electrical item of mine before) which only plays from one ear, and occasionally both if the jack was to be twiddled (however not for long). I've seen that it can be fixed by opening the iPod, but I fear of breaking it. I'm not computer/hardware-illiterate by any means, but I want to ensure my iPod remains intact.

And if anyone from Apple is reading this, sort this problem out. Ive seen that this particular provlem is a common occurrence a year after purchase.

i just changed my iphone 4s and received another one as i was still under my one year warranty, and now when i play music via headphones there is a volume limit on it, i have tried to turn it off but it wont turn off someone please help>>>

Have you checked your Control Panel to make sure you don't have the flashlight turned on?
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and make sure the flashlight icon (bottom left-hand corner) is not white. If it is, tap on it to turn it off.

need lightroom 4.4 asmac is 10.6.8 and not compatible with anything higher. Does this come with the creative cloud? Would really like a disc but that doesn't seem to happen anymore. No; but then, I've not had occasion to use TDM. I've been using firerwire drives for over 10 years, both FW400 and FW800, with no issues except a bit of instability using a B&W G3 machine.
TDM should be safe. Using cautious, manual copying of files from the Target machine to the Host machine should not result in unexpected loss of files or damage to the Target drive's directories. It should behave exactly the same as if it were an external (to the Host) firewire drive.

There is probably a way to do that - seems to me that's one of the reasons for a Time Machine volume.

I know that using a cloned drive would work well in this instance.
I have no experience with Time Machine, so perhaps someone who has will chime in with suggestions.
With the machine in TDM with the other machine, have you tried running Disk Utility to see if you can effect repairs to the drive? -
there is a bunch of music in my library under "purchased" that I did not purchase. where does this come from?
It is possible you accidently added these songs to it. Even though the Purchased playlist is kind of a smart playlist you can still drag and drop songs from your library into it.

I seem to be having the same problem on my Windows 8 laptop... I am able to update my iPod Nano through iTunes but my iPhone is not recognized as a device in iTunes. Have been able to update my iPad until recently. Is this a bug fix that Apple can help with? I'd rather not uninstall all my Apple programs if I can avoid it...

I have iphone 4s with several email accounts set up. For one of these accounts, and only one, test emails sent from phone come thru fine. But computer generated mail doesn't come to phone. For test messages phone shows "receiving" but nothing comes to inbox. External sent mail does not come to phone inbox, but does to outlook on computer. Have checked settings and these seem correct. What's up? Four other accounts work fine.
If you can send e-mail when on WiFi from home, but not when on 3G, that indicates your email provider is blocking e-mail being sent from outside their network. This is done to control Spam. ISPs who do this will usually have a separate SMTP server that should be used when using a mobile device. Check with them again.

You can try cleaning the headphone jack. However, I suspect that th headphone jack needs replacement.
Apple will only exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price.

I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great!
The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works. Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up. Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp. Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp. Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.
