You'll have to set up his mail account again. To change the name, follow this article: iTunes: How to rename your device
After that right click on it in the device list and choose backup. A manual backup will be made, no sync process is included. When the backup is finished you should find it listed in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices

You should have been syncing your contacts to your computer regularly. Just sync them back ot the iphone from your computer.

I made a big mistake to change the setting of my Mac book pro to "me only". Now ofcourse It cannot open the login page, for how would the mac know it is me? How can I change the setting back to "everyone"? I have back up in the past but the last month I have not. I really want to keep the data.
So how can I go in and change the setting, It stays ofcourse at the apple screen with wheel. All info is there and the computer works fine, just cannot use it or have been able to log in.wjosten is spot on. If you really want iCloud, then you will need to acquire a new or second hand MBP that can run Lion.

my backup file is too big? how can i change some of the items that are being backed up to decrease size?
In iPhoto, Select All the Photos you want to move... Then goto > File > Export >
Choose the settings as seen here
Click Export and select your External Drive
Best to create a Folder to put them in... and away you go... -

Photo stream only keeps your photos for 30 days. After that, they are removed from your photo stream but not from any device that has already received them. Chances are, the 44 photos are from the last 30 days; the others are not there because they are no longer in your photo stream.
If the photos were in your camera roll when you last backed up, restoring to the backup should recover them. However, you will have to restore to the entire backup to do so. If they weren't backed up or imported to your computer, there is no way to recover them now.

Sorry, you can't. Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID used to originally obtain them. They cannot be updated using any other Apple ID, nor can they be transferred to another Apple ID. You will have to update them using the ID used to originally obtain them.

When I attempt to download an app my email address isn't there, the other ipad users is there. How do I change the email address so I can enter my password?
Go to Settings > iTunes and App Stores
At the top of the window you will see the Apple ID that the iPad is using. To change that tap on the ID and then tap on Sign Out. Then sign in with the correct ID.
Not really a good idea to be using two different Apple IDs on a single iPad. -

Use his ID for Settings>Messages>Send And Recieve and for Settings>FaceTime.
If he does not have an ID then
Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

How can I change the language back to English on Appstore?
I just recently upgraded my Ipod touch to iOS 5.0.1 and after that the language of applications Appstore & Itunes was set to French, while everything else is in English -as it is supposed to be as before the upgrade everything was in English-.
Currently the Language set on my Ipod is English (From Settings->General->International->Language->English).
The account for Appstore is not linked to any credit card it is a an account to only download free applications.
How can I set the language back to English?
Thanks a lot,Is the address on your account based in France ? The language of the stores should reflect the language of the country where your account is based, which isn't necessarily the same language as you've set on the device.
If your account isn't based in a French spealing country, then try logging out of the account (via Settings > Store) and then log back in (and also make sure that your address is correct and complete), and see if the language of the iTunes and App Store the reflect the language of the country where your account is based. -

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if the email text show when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
I have a new iPhone and have kept my old one to play music in another room. I have recently updated my software on the new iPhone and when it backed up it backed up to the old iPhone, I have therefore lost pictures, messages and apps from my new iPhone as it has backed up to the last session of the old phone, how can I get all my new stuff back and stop it from happening again?

No such thing has occurred. iPhones do not backup to one another.
It is not possible to backup a different iPhone from the one being updated.
If the iPhone was restored with a backup from a different device, restore it again from the correct backup.

Good morning. I recently got an iphone. I went to the icloud, and it says account not verified, please go to this email address for instructions to verify. The email listed is wrong. If not I'd recommend using the Backup and Restore feature in Desktop Manager to make a backup of all your data. Next I'd wipe the device. To do that go into Options | Security Options | General Settings. Hit the menu button and choose Wipe Handheld. Doing so will erase ALL the data from your device and restore it to factory specs.
Afterwards you can re-setup your email accounts and the google apps to get your information on there. You could then go back into Backup and Restore | Advanced and restore certain databases (mainly the address book and the messages). If you were to do a full restore then it would probably bring back the corrupted email address problem that you're having right now
