Funny you mentioned that analogy... because John the Baptist was a heavy drinker... (could steve jobs be secretly accessing flash content on his ipad?)

  • Apps downloaded are appearing as "loading" on ipad 2 and not working

I have downloaded couple of application through iTunes and loaded them to ipad2 64gd wifi 4g. They are appearing as "loading" on ipad 2 and not working. Tried to restore ipad to presious version os and reboot etc. but nothing worked. Can someone help please.

Check iTunes and see if you have a pending or stalled download in there. If you do, finish that download or delete it if you can. If you can't finish or delete the download on the iPad, do it in iTunes on your computer and then sync the iPad. Then go back to the apps and see if they will download.
If that doesn't work or if that was not the problem, go to Settings>Store >Apple ID, tap your ID and sign out. Then reboot the iPad, Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Then go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and sign in again and see if the apps will update.

  • New iPad 3 will not charge from a mac. need help on that

my new ipad 3 will not charge from a mac. need help why if any one knows? thk

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Hello, flippytippi.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would need a little more information regarding what exactly you are experiencing when attempting to sync photos to better assist you.  However, here is a troubleshooting article that I would recommend going through.

  • My Mac has stopped receiving mail. Mail is still coming through to my iPhone and my wife's iPad but is not appearing on my mac. I have mail from today on the phone but nothing newer than 18 Feb on the Mac. I have not touched any settings. Can anyone adv

My Mac has stopped receiving mail. I have a mac.com address. Mail is still coming through to my iphone and my wife's ipad but nothing is coming through to my imac.I have mail from half an hour ago on the phone but nothing newer than 18 Feb on the mac. Everythng was working fine until recently and I have not touched any settings! Can anyone help?

So I tried something else recently and it seems to have fixed the issue. My mail is now getting new mail again and refreshing after waking from sleep without having to restart mail. Give it a try and hopefully it will help you too.
First, make sure your Mailbox List is visible (Shift + Control + M). Then select all of your inboxes, mailboxes, and folders (not just the root folder for nested folders, make sure to select them all). Then under the "Mailbox" menu, select "Rebuild."
It may take a while to rebuild them all if you have a lot, but like I said it seems to have done the trick for me. I hope that proves to be more of a long-term solution.

  • Actions defined in Keynote are supported in iPad iBooks and not in iPad Keynote itself...

When I use actions in the build of slides produced with Keynote on my Mac, they work well on my iPad when I integrate this Keynote presentation in iBooks Author using the Keynote Widget.
But strangely enough actions used in a Keynote produced on my Mac, are not supported and ignored when I want to run that presentation in Keynote on my iPad.
So there are actually some Mac Keynote features that work in iPad's iBooks but not on iPad's Keynote.
Can anybody explain these inconsistencies between Apple apps please?

I came across this discussion and thought I could share something that I discovered today. This may help so here goes:
When creating a keynote presentation on the MAC OSX (Hyperlinks ONLY) (I use Lion 10.7.4), then sending to brand new iPad (Version 3) via iTunes, many of the Hyperlinks did not work as well. Heres what I found out by process of elimination, and you might try.
It turns out the Hyperlinks DO NOT WORK on the iPad when the hyperlinked item is part of a "Group" of items. The odd part is if you ungroup the items and then select ONLY the one item to be hyperlinked, then go to the tools, advanced, "Interactive hyperlinks" the hyperlink created on the Mac already shows up correctly, becuase it was there the whole time ! Bizzare, dont you think. For some reason Keynote on an iPad does NOT like any of the hyperlinks to be part of "grouped" items with any other items or they DON'T work !
MY solution is this (A slight paint, but it worked 100%) Create your entire presenation, then make a copy version of the file, then enter the new version and make sure  ALL hyperlinked items are ungrouped. Then resend to iTunes, and import into Keynote on iPad and Voila !!
    I hope this helps.

  • Ipod and ipad contacts and notes not syncing with my Dell 64 bit Windows 7 computer

Can anyone help?  My Ipod Touch and Ipad 2 contacts and notes are not syncing with my Dell Windows 7 64 bit computer.
    Sandra

I assume that you have synced with Outlook before and it has stopped working.  If you've never connected with Outlook before, take a look here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1418 .  If that did not help try chosing Windows Contacts to sync.  Does that work (contacts show up in Contacts folder on your PC)?

  • Pdf files or corrupted on ipad 1 and not on ipad 2

    Hello,
I have an ipad 1 and ipad 2. Both with the same iOS and the same apps.
Since recently when I upload pdf files to the devices the ipad one always doesn't open them correctly (goodreader, iBooks and Adobe)
The Ipad has no problem with opening the files.
Any idea what this could be?
Not sure if related same thing for movie files no problem ipad 2, incorrect for ipad 1 is this something different?
    Thanks in advance for response,
    Wouter

Can't answer your question but as an interim measure, if you are desperate, put your photos on to your computer (if you use one!) and then sync them to the iPad.

  • Did Mountain Lion break calendar and note sync between the Mac and iPhone?

When I was running Lion, my calendars and notes synced properly between my Mac and iPhone (with notes going into Mail.app). After upgrading to Mountain Lion, the notes on my Mac were moved into Notes.app and my calendars appeared to be unharmed. I've recently noticed that neither my calendars nor my notes are syncing between my Mac and iPhone.
I use iTunes to sync my data (either via USB or WiFi) and have no interest in moving to iCloud. I have tried the suggestion of enabling iCloud sync on my iPhone, then disabling, as well as telling iTunes to overwrite the calendar data on my iPhone. Neither of these approaches has solved my sync problem.

I found a solution to my problem. Hopefully it helps someone else too.
I deleted the following file and folder:
         ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
         ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Sync Changes/
When I synced my iPhone, I was presented with several sync conflicts to resolve. I resolved them and applied the changes immediately. Now my Mac and iPhone are in sync and I've confirmed that changes are syncing from my Mac to my iPhone (I'll confirm that it works the other direction tomorrow when I can look at my calendar at work).
This is the thread that helped me:

  • Plugged in but AC light not coming on and laptop not turning on

I bought a Toshiba satellite p55w . I had it for a few months. I shut it down with full battery. 15 minutes later it won't turn back on. I plugged it in and the ac light isn't coming on

Unfortunately, I'd suggest you call customer support. It could require servicing.

  • Error message when plug in ipad "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. The device is no longer connected."

I set up my iPad a couple months ago, but it wasn't really customized. I plugged it into my computer for the first time in a couple months and got this error that kept popping up so constantly that I could not do anything in iTunes when it was up, but when I exited out it came back up immediately unless I unplugged the iPad altogether. I tried restoring it to update it, but now it won't connect via iTunes nor to wifi to set it up. Currently stuck, what can I do?

I have the same problem. In fact when I plug in my iPad 2 updated to ios 7.0.4 I get that same message and it crashes my entire system - forcing me to reboot.

  • Ipad overheating, ipad overheating and not charging

I work with my new iPad connected to my 27 screen monitor
i'm prototyping a website so i constantly browse and laod pages on safari while the ipad is connected with the cable to the screen
the battery has been to 37% for the last 4 hours... basically it seems that the power coming from the screen is not ebough to compensate the power cusmption while using the ipad...
    shoudl i return it?

In layman's terms that everyone can understand:
The components in an iPad do not use the exact power & voltage that the battery puts out.
There are various regulators and step-up and step-down circuits to provide the many different levels of power required for the various functions within the device. Memory, CPU, LCD, backlight, touch-screen, speakers, and so on and so forth.. All these have different power requirements. Even different types of memory, RAM and FLASH have different power requirements. And of course, the new CPU and GPU, by default, already consume more power to begin with; and therefore radiate more heat.
The exact state of battery charge and what the iPad itself thinks is in the battery - there can be some discrepancies between the two.
Along with a CPU under load and a battery that is not properly "calibrated", the regulators will be working overtime with conflicting information and strain to correct the imbalances. This is what can generate that extra heat.
Be aware that as the battery discharges, even very small differences (sagging) in voltage cause the regulators to begin stepping up to maintain proper power throughout the device. As power regulators heat up, they become more inefficient and that in and of itself dissipates more energy making the device even hotter.
Each pixel on the LCD uses pico-amps of current at fractions of a volt. That is an extremely tiny amount of current. And the voltages are monitored and maintained to a precision of 0.00002V or greater for each and every pixel. That's precise! The regulators definitely work double-time to keep this precision under control with astounding accuracy. And they do it under various temperature conditions and fluctuating power levels; caused by different loads being demanded of various components.
Playing 3D games, jamming loud audio, storing to internal memory, reading an e-book.. Things like that - all have significantly different power demands.
Note that much of this situation arises from components (and circuit design philosophy) that are running right at the edge of tolerances.
Keep in mind that a full 80% of the internal volume of the iPad3 is battery. That's one BIG energy source!
And there you have it, folks, a lot of stuff in a small space, with a lot going on. No wonder the unit heats up a little.
