I plugged my Iphone 4s in my computer last night and it asked if I wanted to do an update, so I started it and now my phone can not be found and says I have to start in recovery mode, the display on the phone is a circle itunes and the cord to plug it in?
I plugged my Iphone 4s in my computer last night to sync and it asked me if I wanted to do an update, so I clicked to start the update. When I woke up this morning my phone is frozen with the display having the blue circle itunes on the top and bottom of screen has the charger cord, letting me know to plug in, but it was already plugged in. The message in Itunes says, itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore the phone before you can use it. I know if I hit recovery mode that I lose everything currently on my phone. Any suggestions?

If you're in recovery mode, all data is ALREADY lost. You've no choice but to restore.

Toggle the Mute switch a couple of times. The hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears, or 30 seconds have gone by. If you see nothing you have a hardware defect in the phone. If you seen anything at all on the display follow its instructions, which will probably be to connect to iTunes and restore the phone.

MY IOS is 3.2A lot of apps now require iOS 4+ in order to work - if you only have version 3.2 and the apps that you want to sync require 4+ then they won't sync (you can check an app's requirements on the left-hand side of its description in the App Store). You either need to update your iPad to the current version of iOS (which can be done via the Check for Updates button on the devices summary tab in iTunes), or you need to find apps that only require iOS 3

Cannot empty trash can in iMac. Says I have no access to some of the items. Any ideas?
I created some files and folders on my iMac and deleted them. This time around when I try to empty the trash can via secure emptying it says I have no access to some of the items... Very strange. I had done same a while ago and worked with same files and folders. I restarted system. Same problem persisting. "Get Info" on files shows read and write. It is my own personal Mac... Any ideas? My iPhone ran out of battery last night, and now it won't turn on.
The top button doesn't work anyway, but I've tried charging to wake it up using several chargers and via a laptop and plug socket.
The phone's about a year old, and has otherwise been working fine. I've no idea why it would just stop working - no water spilt on it or anything like that.

The message that comes up says that the server can not be found ...why does this keep happening?
I continually get the message that the
'server can not be found at this address. Check to make sure that the address is typed properly etc. etc.'
When I try to use Internet Explorer with the same info there is no such message. WhyA possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.

I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.

Hi, I have connected my iPhone 5 to iTunes, backed it up and then started the update but there was a problem, now my phone will not work, it asks to restore factory settings which I have tried 3 times, each time it says the device has an unknown error and the phone switches off. Please help.
Same thing happened with my iPhone 4S - no one is any help. Thanks Apple for such a crappy update! I've called Apple, they say the SIM card needs replacing, I go to my service provider they tell me nothing wrong with the SIM card - provider tells me I now need a new phone. Sheesh! If someone has a solution to this it would be greatly appreciated.

I was on the phone last night and my phone randomly turned off. It will not come back on even when I have tried to hold the home button and the power button at the same time, while being plugged into the computer? What do I do?
Plug it into power for at least 15 minutes. If it doesn't automatically come on, try a reset... press the home and sleep (on/off) buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

I downloaded a free game last night and since then under the shared tab in my finder it says "hp002655a82ea0" and the only info I can get about it is that it is a pc. Then under console I see several "stealth mode connection" attempts ti TCP 192.168.1.107:##### from 74.125.225.82.443. The second number has jumped around and sometimes starts with 192. I dont really know what those numbers are but how do I stop them from attempting to get through my firewall and kick them out of my shared tab??? I encrypted all my files and made sure all sharing is turned off so I don't know what they are doing. Thank you very much.

I forgot my password and am trying to reset my ipod, but it won't work.It says that my ipod is in recovery mode and that I must restore it. I click ok, and then click on restore and update. Then it says connecting ipod software update server and a screen pops up with ipod software update on the top and iOS 5.1. It lists a bunch of stuff this update contains and on the bottom it says next, which I click and nothing happens, it just goes back to the ipod restore page. Help, what am I doing wrong?

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. When pulling music from a harddrive and it say music can not be found, is there a way to stop this from happening every time I play music on my computer? It used to find all music when serching for song but now it only finds 1 at a time. I have over 2000 songs so I can't go through this every time.

If you can play the movies in iTunes, you should be able to open the movie files using Quicktime, which should already be on your system. If you have already transferred the files to your flash drive, open the flash drive in Finder, and hold control when you click on the movie file (or right click if you have the enabled) and select Open With Quicktime Player. This should play the movie directly from the flash drive.

3) If 1. & 2. questions are solvable, will it then be safe to delete the movies from my itunes?
You can move the TV shows to your flash drive by dragging them from the iTunes window to your flash drive in Finder or the flash drive icon on the desktop. When you are sure everything is transferred over to your external device, you can delete the movie from iTunes. I recommend playing the videos from the flash drive first before deleting them in iTunes.
To delete the videos from iTunes, you can highlight them and press the delete key on your keyboard. In the next prompt, you would want to move it to the trash so that it is deleted from your internal hard drive.
