I pod 4th Generation White Screen Cracked

I purchased this for my son at Christmas and his screen has cracked. Does anyone have an idea if it comes with a manufacture warranty? If it does not then does anyone have an idea of cost to repair?

It does come with a manufacturers warranty that does not cover screen cracks. Through apple, it is between 100-200 depending on the gb's of the ipod. 99 for the 8gb, 149 for the 32gb, and 199 for the 64gb.

  • IPod touch 4th generation white screen

What to do or how to fix a white screen on a 4th gen iPod touch 8 gig?

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."

  • My iPod Touch 4th generation white is cracked (8 GB). It cracked in Jan 2012 but I jailbroke it in June 2012, than unjailbroke it two days after I jailbroke it. Can I still take it to Apple to get the screen fixed at whatever cost (Its a 8GB)

Only Apple knows. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. The worst is that they say no.

  • Itouch 4th gen white screen after replacement

after changing cracked screen on a itouch 4th gen white screen is displayed

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. However, they may refuse to even look at tit since you worked on the iPod yourself. It could be that you broke a ribbon cable of did some other damage when replacing the screen, the screen was defective or there was other damage besides the screen, like the logic board.

Can the I-Pod 4th generation communicate with TV to be used as a mirror?

No. TV out on 4G only works with apps that support TV out. TV out does NOT mirror the iPod's screen

  • I pod isn't working and is frozen ( i pod 4th generation)

I found out that really no i pod is officially busted or not operational today. It turns out that my fourth generation i pod nano was frozen and I was thinking of returning it and exchanging it ; but instead i went to the Support section under Apple and got the solution. It is called: **iPod: No power or frozen**
**Last Modified: June 06, 2008** I strongly recommend it. All you have to do is put the hold switch onto the setting off and then you hold the menu an center button for 10 seconds. It isn't for the i pod 4th generation but it worked for me.

    No problem...
Have you tried holding the MENU and SELECT (center) button until you see the Apple logo to reset it?

    Hello rkoslosky,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you are not able to locate the Messages application on your daughters iPod touch (4th generation). The good news is that this application cannot be deleted or restricted. The first suggestion I have is to try and search for Messages using Spotlight to search the iPod touch for this application. If Messages is located in Spotlight, then it has probably been moved to a different page of applications or even possibly a folder of applications on the device. Searching all pages will help you locate it.

  • 4th generation nanao screen white

My 4th generation nano's screen is completely white.  I tried reseting the nano by holding the "menu" and center buttons for six seconds until the apple sign appeared on the screen.  A few seconds later the screen turned white and I could not see anything on the screen.  I repeated this process numerous times and came up with the same results.

    - Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. If defective, not abused and within warranty, Apple will exchange it at no cost.

  • My iPod Touch 4th generation's screen is still white. Could somebody please help me?

My iPod touch currently has iOS 5.1.1. When I was about to use my iPod touch for music yesterday (05/30/12), I saw my iPod touch's screen was pure blank. The only sound my iPod touch makes is the voice control and there were no open apps. Also, there was only music on my iPod touch before the screen was blank at the time and there aren't any broken parts. It is not Jailbroken and I had my iPod touch since last August. My iPod  touch still has a white screen. I drained out my ipod touch's battery and it did not turn back on back to normal, the screen was still white. When I restarted my iPod touch, the screen was still white. I charged my iPod touch and the screen was still white. When I tried my iPod touch in DFU mode, the apple logo/connect to itunes logo never showed up and the screen is still white. I restored my iPod touch, that didn't work and the screen was still white. Is there a techincal glitch? Should I wait for the next update? Did anyone has/had the same problem? Can Somebody help me with this problem? Should I go to the Apple Store? Should I replace it? Someone please help me. I will be greatly appreciated for your help.

    Hi there Gabby,
I'm sorry to see you are so frustrated. Try holding down the sleep/wake button and home button together, until the device restarts.
If this still doesn't work, and you have restored your device, it seems like it could be a hardware problem. Book a Genius appointment and a local Apple Store, and they will talk you through repair and replacement options. If you are still in warentee, they will replace it for free. You can book an appointment at the link below.

  • Apple I-Pod 4th Generation Battery

My silver I-Pod Nano 4th generation is not able to power on. It works fine when it is connected to my speaker or charging cable but not alone even after charging for a long time. It plays music in the speaker fine and everything else is functioning, just not when connected to a power supply. I think it has some thing to do with the connections to battery because when it is not being charged, nothing turns on. (The power Switch on the top is on the power mode (not orange)) If someone could help me pinpoint the problem so I could see if it is fixable. Thanks

  • HT1435 how do i get i tunes to recognise my i pod 4th generation

How do I get I tunes to recognise my i pod shuffle 4th generation,as I keep getting fault message (2005)

    Hello there, CliveFromBR.
The following Knowledge Base article covers the issue you're having with error 2005:
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error2001
    Specifically the following:
    Error 2000-2009 (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on)
If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue persists, it may be related to conflicting security software. If the errors persist on another computer and known-good USB cable, the device may need service.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro D.
