I-pod "not recongised", malfunctioned??

When i plug my i-pod in it says it doesn't recognise it and that it has malfunctioned? i have not been able to install my i-pod yet and what should i do? thanks

How do I get tunes off of my daughters I pod (not associated with my account) - onto my account. Her old computer is dead along with that I-Tunes account

Got a new PC. Took the tunes off of my old PC - transferred to new one and opened new account. - Tossed out old PC. No nione of the tunes I bought and paid for are accessable anymore. What's worse - when I plug in my daughters I pod to add to her songs the system wants to dleate everything on her ipod...which would be fine except none of the songs on her ipod seem to be on my comoputer anymore - where the heck are the songs I paid for? You misunderstand.
If you lose a credit card, the account is not gone. You call your credit card company, report the loss, and they issue you a new card. You still have the same account; just a new card which you use to access that account.
Since your old computer is stolen/sold/thrown away/lost/not working, you can no longer use it to access your iTunes account. But that iTunes account, associated with a particular Apple ID, still exists. All you need to do is enter the account information into iTunes on your new computer.
You said you already transfered the "material" from your old computer to your new computer. So if that's already done, there's no need to transfer anything from the iPod to your new computer. All you need to do is authorize your new computer for the old media and apps, and the way you do that is by logging in to the iTunes Store within the iTunes application on that new computer using your previous Apple ID and password.

I-pod not recognized by vista or I-tunes

I am having trouble getting my nano to show up on my computer.
I have a 3g nano and using vista.
Here are the facts:
completed the 5 r's
Went into disk mode, which says "ok to disconnect" every time I do.
USB cable and ports are all fine.
external flash drives and hard drives I have all work with no problems.
Ipod worked fine and randomly stoped working.
When I plug i-pod into computer it lights up.
I-pod chargers and works fine.
Please help.

i have had my ipod for a few months its always worked fine then recently when pluged in to pc via usb2 it says on pc the usb devise you connected has malfunctioned and i can no longer transfer music to it. how can i fix this

What does your iPod display when you connect it to your computer?
Is your iPod recognized by "My Computer" area, or not? If it is, then see if it is recognized by iTunes or not.
Probably most importantly, be sure to have completely installed your iPod/iTunes' software on your computer before you connect your iPod.
Do that by inserting the installation CD that came with your iPod, and following all the steps it tells you, being sure to only connect your iPod when it tells you to, and when the installation process is complete.
If you've already done all the registeration/installation, then first start out connecting your iPod in Disk Mode
If that doesn't help, and your iPod isn't being recognized by "MY COmputer" as well as iTunes, then check out this link -> iPod isn't recognized by My computer or in iTunes

I-Pod not recognized

Whenever I plug my I-Pod Photo into my laptop with Vista, I get told the USB Device is not recognized. Any ideas on what I can do? As of right now my laptop is the only computer I have at college, and I'd rather not have to wait until I can get my desktop sent.

I pod not recognized by i tunes

Hello this is in regards with the i pod and i tunes. Recently had to make i pod into enable disk use for data now the options on the i tunes arent there because the computer things its a usb storage device. Now it wont let me change it back to music storage etc in options. Went to restore it the same thing happens. The computer usb hubs are working ok because they find the i pod as a storage device but the same thing happens. Go to restore as i said and ive updated it using the download nothing. Orange and green lights are flashing on it and now its locked me out. Added the new hardware with the driver for the i pod the same thing happens. It says no i pod connected or no i pod detected. This has gone on for so long now i want my i pod back please can someone help me. I tried to install and uninstall i tunes its same things HElp!!!!

I-pod not recognized by Computer

Hello, everyone. I've had my 80G classic for about two years and last week bad things happened. When I plugged in my I-pod it said that this device could work better using USB 2.0. I thought that this was weird but didn't think much of it.( My I-pod had been using USB 2.0 for a few months on this computer) then the next day. It stopped connecting at all and says that this device can not be recognized. I have turned off my PC and tried pulling the power cord out. I've tried reinstalling my drivers. The funny thing is that I can still charge my I-pod with fire-wire and it works normal besides this.

That sounds like something strange may have happened to your USB drivers, lichu.
In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you worked through the following document?

I-Pod not recognized by laptop

Dear All,
I use my i-pod as an archive flash disk. I tried to plug it yesterday to different computers, and none have recognized it. I have checked USB ports and all are fine. While not recognized the i-Pod is still charging (using power from lap top) which seems to indicate that cable is fine. What to do? I am really stuck and I desesperatly need some of the data on the pod. Tks for any tips/solutions. F

Have you tried with other ports? Is this usb device recognized by other computers?
What's detailed information about your problem? Please locate to event viewer and find the related logs.
I suggest updating the BIOS from the manufacture's site first. Then reinstall or update USB controller to check the result.

Pod not recognised but charges

Hi
Odd one possibly. My Ipod is no longer recognised on my G4 in anyway, neither iTunes or on the desktop. I have tried plugging into both Firewire and USB but no joy.
However, it does charge. I don't think there is a problem with the ports since my girfriends pod is recognised on both USB and Firewire
I have tried re-booting the computer, reseting my pod, attached and not to the computer. Still not recognised by it does charge.
Any ideas what next?

Yes my pod has been recognized unfailingly for a year with Disk mode enabled I think, and has always been ilnked to this iTunes.
I haven't tried another computer and I think it's the do not disconnect display when connected.
I haven't tried connecting with iTunes closed, then opening once attached but I figured re-booting with attached might be similar.

I pod not working!!!! Please help!!!

My Ipod classic froze over the weekend whislt plugged into a JBL speaker sound system... I have allowed the battery to run down fully in an attempt to restart the pod.. However now plugged into either the mains or my laptop it just reaches the 'Apple' icon screen and then no further.. Its not recognized by my itunes either.. Can anyone suggest anything to help please!!????

If you check out my previous post there is a link to a support web site which gives a 5 stage default process to try. However, I would try resetting and/or changing to disk mode which is also explained in my last post.

Please, I would like to subscribe the podcast Business English Pod and there is a message from Itunes Store that the link is not available in Brazil. I have already asked the Business English Pod and they can`t do anything about it.

You don't need to work through the iTunes Store. Open the "Subscribe to Podcast" window under the Advanced menu in iTunes and paste in the following URL:

If that still doesn't work, there are some other options on the developer's web site.

though they may not be as convenient as using iTunes. If none of those options work for you, then it's due to either a choice by the podcaster not to allow their podcast in Brazil or something with the Brazilian government or Internet providers.
By the way, we're all just fellow users here. Employees of the iTunes Store do not participate in these forums.
