I pod Problem.

Hello,
On my i pod by mistakenly I press restore. Now I lost all my folder & music from the i pod & i tune playlist. How can I get back all those music again. Please help me.
  Windows XP Pro

You simply reconnect the iPod and reload the songs from your iTunes library. If you cannot do this because the songs are no longer in your library (and if not, why not?), then the songs are gone unless you want to purchase and try some data recovery software for the iPod.

  • Camera Pod Problem: Preview video is ok, Shared Video is Black Screen

We have several rooms with a USB or Firwire capture device and an NTSC PTZ camera feeding composite video.
For example, we have a Startech SVID2USB23 USB Composite Video Capture device with a Sony EVI-D70 PTZ camera.
The problem is that we can "Start My Webcam" and get good preview video, but when we "Start Sharing", the screen goes black.
I did find a couple related postings in the forums:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/778016
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3942993?tstart=0
From the postings, I think the problem is that the video may not be 640x480@20fps.
But I have to ask, why do we get good video in the preview window?
In the second link above, it's mentioned that higher resolutions and frame rates will be supported in future releases.
Is this issue addressed in the version 9.0 release scheduled for December 7?
For a work around, I saw the Talking Stick Add-on which looks very interesting.
I also found that ManyCam (http://www.manycam.com/) works to address the problem.
These work, but add a layer of complexity for our users that we would like to avoid.
Is there an easier way to address this problem?
Does version 9.0 fix the issue?
    Thanks for any help,
    Paul

I had the same issue when I upgraded.  The "fix" currently via Adobe support is Stop the camera, open Camera and Voice Pod Preferences, move the slider to Low or Medium, restart the camera.
I am using the Osprey 230 card in 8 rooms, I would have been **** if I couldn't get this working.  I changed all my templates to reflect this change so I don't have to troubleshoot every time we have a class.
Here is a link to the Known Issues where this is listed: http://helpx.adobe.com/adobe-connect/release-note/connect-9-known-issues.html There do not give the solution but when its fixed they should remove it from the list.

  • Big I-Pod problem!!!!!! Help A.S.A.P!

Rite, first thing first i have a 60GB I-Pod Video. This problem stems from me trying to put tracks from CD's into a playlist them one by one (album) putting them onto my i-pod, as i find it is easier. But then finding out that after i put one album on the i-pod, putting another one on afterwards, deletes the previous one?!!?!? How comes that happens??
    THE MAIN PROBLEM......
While i was getting stressed by that problem, another came along, a bigger one! Now my I-pod wont connect to I-Tunes at all. Ive tried re-installing it & begging it, but to no avail. The thing is, my i-pod just stays on "DO NOT DISCONNECT" it is now as i speak, has been for past 20mins! Battery is fully charged.
I cannot think of anything else thats the problem.
    HELP PLEASE!

That is correct, simply plug in the iPod to the computer as you did with the nano. You do not need to install any software, as it is all already on your computer.
    I hope this helps!

  • Snippet Pod Problems

I have a project in RH7 with several hundred snippets. When I
open the Snippet Pod and try to scroll down the list to select a
snippet the Pod flickers and immediately returns me to the top of
the list when I let go of either the scroll bar or the scroll
arrow. It happens so fast that I don't have a chance to select a
snippet. I need to be able to access the snippets through the pod
because that is the only way I know of to change the snippet name
or delete the snippet. I can edit the snippet through the topic
    page it is linked to.
    Any help is appreciated!

Is anyone using a large number of snippets in RH8? I have a new project where we were thinking of creating 100-200 to deal with a similar situation that Pat@ffic mentioned in this thread. Of course, I don't want to encounter the same issue. I'm also interested in any other outside-the-box solutions anyone has come up with for reusing many chunks of text that can be updated/deleted/added in one central place. A big problem I see with the Snippets Pod is the lack of structure.... we really need to be able to organize them in folders. (I may submit that as a feature request, actually.) For now we are planning on using a consistent naming convention and are going to try to keep the titles brief, but it's going to be tricky. I like Rick's suggestion (at least I think it was Rick; can't see the whole thread as I'm writing this) to create master pages that simply serve as snippet warehouses to organize them/access them more easily, but we'd still have to work within the confines of the Snippets Pod often since that's the only way to add/delete.
I appreciate anyone's thoughts or experiences with this, particularly if you've discovered any differences in RH8.

  • Serious pod problems

The five r's are crap. I have tried resetting the ipod and putting it into disk mode to connect to my pc. It switches to the do not disconnect logo and trys to connect for a few minutes. The ipod updater will then say it can't mount the ipod, and the ipod will reboot, showing the apple, then the folder with ! icon. It will then like go to the do not disconnect screen again even if it isn't connected to the computer and it will then freeze at that screen until I reset it. I figure if I could just format the **** harddrive that might help, but the ipod updater will not recognize the ipod, because it will reboot everytime when plugged in. The battery does not need to be charged. If you can help please comment back.

    Hello bennyjean,
Yeah it is very annouying, but doing the five r's works most of the time, having said that I agree with you that once the iPod cant be recognized, it really cant do anything with it. I have few fixing experience with the iPod showing the folder with excalmation points, and managed to solve them, please read the following, particualarly for step 7 and 9:-
Several things could keep iPod from appearing in iTunes or in the Desktop/Finder when you connect it to your PC/Mac. The most likely causes are listed below in logical order. Check each one starting from the top of the list to see if that is what's keeping iPod from appearing.
    3. Try to wait 30 minutes while iPod is charging.
    4. Try another known-good FireWire or USB through Dock Connector cable.
    5. Try another known-good FireWire or USB port on your computer .
    6. Try to disconnect all devices from your computer's FireWire and USB ports.
    7. Try to connect on a different computer i.e. a PC formatted iPod connect with a Mac computer or Mac formatted iPod with a Window base PC.
    8. Try to do a Erase (Disk Utility) on a Mac computer or a reformat with a PC (Disk Management tool) but ensure you choose the right Drive (your iPod not your Hard Disk of your computer).
    9. Try to run the iPod in “Diagnostic mode” . which can be accessed by pushing the “hold” switch into the “on” position and then “off” (into the original position). Then press the following buttons in the following order: “menu” plus “select” (centre button) then press “reverse” plus “select”. This will take you to the hidden diagnostic mode screen menu. It may take a few trials and pressing the buttons in the right way for this to work, so be patient and keep trying if you have to. The diagnostic mode will give you 7 choices which are: Memory, IO, Power, Status, SysCfg, Diskmode, and Reset. Don’t bother trying “reset” because in my case it didn’t work it just took me back to the same problem. Instead, choose “diskmode”, after which you should get an odd looking “ok to disconnect” sign on the iPod screen.
If one of the above step helps to get your iPod to be recognized with your computer, do a Restore.
But, if none of these steps address the issue, your iPod may need to be repaired. You can arrange for service at the iPod Service Website.

  • POD Problem

I have a number of projects that were all working fine
yesterday. Now I can't get the Project Manager pod open in any of
them today. Even tried in a new project and it won't open there
either. Tried a re-install. Deleted the .cpd files. And followed
some directions for resetting keyboard and anything else in toolbar
options. Rebooting after each change and still can't get Project
Manager open. Also, projects are starting to lose SKINs, graphics,
etc. HELP - I'm on a miserable deadline and would appreciate any
    help.

    Hi again Carrie
I suspect the inability to see the Pod is a red herring and
has nothing to do with broken links.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Video quality - is my pod sick :(

I think Ive noticed, and this is only after shutting off the "Surface" episode I bought from Itunes, that the video quality just stinks. I couldnt even finish because the pixels and terrible gradients were killin me. I went back to my "Lost" episodes and dont know if im just seeing things or my ipod video is getting worse.? DOES anyone else have this pixey pod problem??
    jnet

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Is this only the Surface episode? If the Lost episodes are fine, then I would say it is a problem with the file.

  • "Return to POD" button

    Hi
Cannot able to find @ NC Tree Plug in @ POD
"Return to POD" button which displays the secondary NC code groups and available codes in NC Selection
    any setting missing.
    Please suggest ?
    Thx

Well I got the "Return to POD" problem - NC_TREE was set as
POPOVER @ POD layout, it should be POPUP for "Return to POD" button
    to display.
Now I have another question -
To analyze and log secondary NC (defect), steps are as follows:
    1. Select the NC Tree button in the POD (displays the NC tree in a pop-up
    window)
    2. Select the row in the NC Tree and select the Return to POD button should displays the secondary NC code groups and codes in NC Selection.
But for me the secondary NC code groups never display after pressing the
"Return to POD" I am back to the POD which has POD work list but not
the NC section plugin with option to select the secondary NC code.
    Please help
    Thx

  • MacBookPro 15in power/battery problems

Well we have had this machine for 3 month. Purchased through educator program. When they sent it to us they included Office S/T edition without our consent. I already have a copy for my other 2 macs and did not need it. When returned, they sent us a Gift card for AppleStore, not good for Itunes. ***
Have been thru 1 battery replacement already (for a know bad batch of batteries) and they charged me to send a new one. Now Apple is saying that even though the original battery is part of bad batch, I can not return it for a refund. They want me to send it back and get a replacement.
New battery is not recognized by computer. Apple wants whole computer back so they can look at the logic board. They asked me to back upall data without first sending me a white paper on how to properly move all home files in osX. (my other 2 machines are still os9.3ish) So now i tried to move home folder to a cd and it wont give me permissions. When I dragged it back to the hard drive it overwrote home setting and I lost all my wedding pictures and Pics of my dog as a puppy. Waht a bunch of BS. About to send it back, but would rather have my $$$ back.
Now having I-pod problems with both 4g 20gig pods.

I'm sure a human processed your order, so errors are inevitable. You say "included", not "added" did they really charge you for it?

Ok well this sounds like they "added" it and you were charged. Ok so it's not good for iTunes... that stinks that they messed up your order and it's not available on one "type" of product.
Keep in mind that you may be able to go to an apple store and purchase an iTunes gift card with your current Gift card. If not, apple offers a TON of apple branded and non apple branded software and peripherals that I'm sure could suit your needs.

Ok, Did you purchase your computer THROUGH APPLE? I know you mention that you got it through the educator program, but was it direct through apple, or a 3rd party? It's very strange that you'd have 2 big mess ups like that. The battery exchange program is quite clear that you will only be charged for a battery if you do not return the defect. Did you return the first defect? Have you called apple or gone to an apple store with receipts of the charges for your warranty products? You do not have to pay for your repairs, you are under warranty.

No offense, but it sounds like you made a mistake there backing up your information. Again, I don't know what that paper said, but by what you're saying it all still sounds wrong. Unless you did a "clean wipe" of the information - and didn't just "empty trash", it is still potentially retrievable by a professional. Technically unless you do a secure removal of the trash, no file is truly erased.
I don't know who you have been talking to, but with apple warranty repairs you are ENTITLED to a free backup of your information that you do not have to do yourself.
Now having I-pod problems with both 4g 20gig pods.
Wow you got some bad luck. Go into an apple store with all of your documentation and see if you can get some resolution to all of your problems.

  • Sync and Disconnect Problems

After recent I-Tunes update, I-pod nano 3rd generation says it is syncing and then automatically disconnects and prevents another sync from occurring because of the message that "I-Pod cannot be found." Restarting computer and reopening I-Tunes does solve the problem. Resetting the I-pod did not solve the problem. New music can be added to any previously created playlist that I had created that shows up on the computer; however, any new playlist, along with any music added to the new playlist, will not sync and show up on the handheld i-pod. This only began occurring after the recent I-Tunes update. Sorry I ever did the update. It's been time consuming searching for a solution when the problem is on the end of the new update.

Does Apple care about it customers?
Too many customers having I-Pod problems and glitches that Apple does not appear to be addressing.
Looks like they only care about the initial purchase and leave their customer out in the desert for any problems that are created by their updates!

  • Sync and disconnect..........SORTED

    Well it worked for me!!!
I copied my library to disc, (took about an hour and a pile of discs( so any loss of tracks was limited. Then I plugged in my Nano and on the home screen clicked on the "RESTORE" button for the ipod, It asked me several questions and then proceeded to wipe my ipod and then immediately started to put all the contents of my library back on.
As a test I have just been itunes store and purchased a single, on plugging my nano back into my pc.....bingo it synced it straight on.....sorted.
Whether or not you choose to do this please do so at your own risk.

  • 2.1 T2900 Volume Issue

My volume is being extremely weird. It's almost muffled, it sounds like. I have it about 3/4s to the highest volume possible, and it's very quiet. The weird thing is when I touch the volume knob on the little pod, the volume will jack up to, what I assume is the proper level, then waver there for a few seconds before dropping back to the muffled volume.
I'm not under warranty anymore, and would like to know if this is a speaker or pod problem.

Unfortunatly that is likely a problem with the volume pod. First go through all your connections (power, speakers, audio to pc, etc) and settings (try resetting many to defaults). Check the soundcard is ok with headphones. Try wiggling leads incase they are faulty.
Assuming all fails and you are confident the problem is the volume control on the pod, you can buy a remote control version of it (here at the uk store but I think its on the others too). This appears to support your speakers, is pretty cheap, and should never go faulty in the same way as the volume control is no longer a knob.

  • Buying a creative ZEn Vision M Please help !

    Hi there
I am debating on buying a creative zen Vision M after two years of i pod problems. My issue is can u convert the music from the i tunes libary to the player? or will u lose all that music
    Thanks

--- If you have purchased the music from the iTunes Music Store, you will not be able to use the music on the player - iTMS music is iPod only.
There is a workaround (but it might not be legal, if you like to stay that way) - burn the music to a CD, then re-rip it in MP3 format using your favourite ripper. (iTunes will rip to MP3 - the option is under the 'Importing' tab on 'Advanced'.)
--- If your music is in AAC format, you can use a converter to change them into MP3. Be advised that this causes a major loss in quality - and if you own the CDs, you'll be better to re-rip them from scratch to ensure that they sound good.
You can do this conversion in iTunes - simply make sure that the format in the Advanced/Importing settings is set to MP3 (92kbps is fine for conversion). You can open the Settings window by clicking 'Preferences' in the Edit menu.
--- If your music is in MP3 format, you don't have to do anything! The ZV:M will play it nati'vely.Message Edited by Lokiz0r on 07--2006 09:8 AM
