I Pod Repeating Repeated Restore...

Ok so today i plug in my ipod to my computer and it says i need to restor the ipod, its corrupt, so i do, and it does it again. I restarted my computer and tried again, no luck.
It comes up as removable Disk F in my computer and it does not respond to opening that file. I've read something about reformating. And if its a computer reformating there has to be another way cause its just alot of files to get rid of.
Is there a way to reformat the ipod only? How do i resolve this issue. I am running Windows as well

well in my computer the ipod is labeled Removable Disk F, in trying to right click it to change the letter like recomended the window freezes and becomes non-responsive. Thus i tried goin into Device manager. In there the only options when you right click the ipod are "Update Driver" "Disable" "Unistall" "Scan For Hardware Changes" and "Properties". So i went to properties not knowing what else to do. But yet again im at a loss in reformating my ipod nothing in there seems to be what i need.

  • Repeated restore from updated to ios 5.0.1 - HELP!

    Hi
I just updated iTunes and then my iPhone to IOS5.0.1. It got stuck halfway through and required a hard reboot on the iPhone for anything to work. From there the iPhone was plugged in and restored.
I have now completed about 6 restores, each time the phone looks fine and just seems to need a sync (the apps are missing, however all contacts and messages are there) however iTunes continues to want to restore. I have switched both the laptop and phone on and off so many times!
    Help please, at wits end!

OS 5 is facing problem with updating after been updated to iOS 5, iPhone is stuck in recovery mode (Apple logo & black screen repeat repeatedly).
You can reset it in normal way of how when the iPhone crashes or locks up that prevents the iPhone from responding to being turned off for the steps follow this link,

    Hope you will get it.

  • IPhone 4 update 5.0.1 Repeated Restore

So I'm successfully updated to 5.0.1 had to restore my phone.
However after the restore, none of my apps or music or photo albums are on there.
Texts, mail, iCal etc have all the correct settings and data.
When I connect to the computer it doesn't give me any syncing options. Just some backups, I keep trying the oldest backup which is before I performed the update. 12pm is when the phone was after the phone had restored. I keep ending up in the same place.

I have been checking the "More Like This" box to my right, but none of the tips that work for others, such as disabling firewalls and anti-virus, work for me. I have been trying to update my phone for weeks now and this is very annoying.

  • IPod requires repeated restoring

A few weeks ago I upgraded to iTunes 7.2. Big mistake! On the first sync, my computer immediately crashed. I finally uninstalled iTunes, re-installed 7.0, and restored my computer. But since then, I've had continued problems syncing my iPod (a 15GB, by the way). When I sync (which I do nearly daily to get podcasts), after disconnecting the iPod, I'm unable to view my songs on the iPod, even though both iTunes and the iPod show that I only have about 3GB available. If I reconnect the iPod, I get the message that iTunes can't read the iPod. I end up having to restore the iPod. Sometimes I get an error 1418 (iPod can't restore) and have to restore a few times.
I have been searching this discussion group for about two weeks now and have tried many of the suggestions, with no luck. Has anyone had a similar problem?

I'm having a similar problem. Ipod displays a message saying it needs to be restored, as soon as it has been restored it prompts to be restored again. Battery is fully charged, I tried reformatting the ipod (fat32), I've upgraded to the newest version of itunes, I've changed the drive letter of the ipod (to H:), none of this helps. The ipod still works as an external usb drive. Is it junk? Also, how do I go about contacting someone from Apple about this? Right now, I'm extremely disappointed that there is no obvious solution to this problem, and no way to contact apple support.

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection

It doesn t seem to charge or do anything. it is only 3 months old and i always made sure the battery needed charging before charging. i followed every step and cannot get it to restart. HELP

  • 3rd Generation I pod malfunctioned after restoring & updating with iTunes 7

After Updating to iTunes 7, itunes asked me to update my 3rd generation ipod's software. in order to do this i had 2 restore my ipod and so deleting everything on it. after having to re-install and re-configure my ipod in order to access it through iTunes it is now impossible to transer my songs back onto it. auto-syncing causes iTunes to freeze and then wipe my ipod. i attempted adding files slowly, just a few at a time but even this causes iTunes to crash eventually and so wipe my ipod again. im not sure whether the updating or my ipod is to blame for this problem. Any one else having similar difficulties or any advice?

    Hello everyone -
Please read the info in this post, which is extremely helpful if you (like me) need to revert back to iTunes 6.0.5. Your problem sounds quite similar to mine - I went back to what worked before. This will put you back to where you before this disaster called iTunes 7 happened:

  • Ipod pauses repeatedly during workout

During time or distance workout Ipod displays and says "workout stopped, press center button to continue". This occurs randomly and repeatedly. restore Ipod, didn't help. Could this problem be in the transmitter or receiver?
    HP laptop   Windows XP Pro

This is the third time I've used our nike Ipod kit and after about half a mile it started pausing my work out. I would hit the center button to resume and it registered another .2 mile then stopped again. I hit resume and the time began and a pace but no distance. I tried jumping around some and it still didn't work. Eventually it stopped registering pace. I just updated all the settings and the battery life was about half on my ipod. My Nike shoes are brand new.
    Any help out there?

I ran the i-pod updater to restore the problem but the thing just freezes on instalizing.....i can't even restore my i-pod......some one please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I'm having the same problem....kinda.
I put the ipod(4th gen) into disk mode. Connect it to pc, the hardware icon appears in the system tray. But it doesn't appear as a removable disk in 'my computer'.
When i run the latest ipod updater (9/23)(Also have tried an older updater, same message) it says 'ipod service error'.
My ipod has been broke for a while now, when i tried this method at first ipod updater didn't find anything at all...so that's some kind of progress right?
Am using Windows PC.(case you didn't realise...which you did of course.)
Aslo, I really can't afford to buy a new one, or get the battery replaced(i think, dunno how much i costs. but its a lot right?)
