I pod resets, but wont charge or turn on

My ipod has been completely out of battery for 2 months because i have been away and not used it, i plugged it into my computer, and the icon for charging comes up, but that's it, it doesn't move , doesn't show you it's charging, and my computer doesn't even recognise that it's plugged in, i can reset the ipod but it comes back on to the recharging sign, which shows it as empty. can anyone help?

Ok Here Hook the ipod to your computer. Then have your ipod head phone or any head phone hooked it to it then what you do is reseat it then it should charge.

My ipod touch 5th generation wont charge or turn on at all,
i upgraded to iOS 6.1.3 and after that my ipod started having trouble charging, at first i though the lightning cable was the problem so i bought 2 more lightning cable chargers and my ipod still would'nt charge, so it died. now the only thing my ipod does is when i try to turn it on it shows the apple logo and then the screen goes off and does it again for a few times and then the screen stays off and my ipod gets really hot but wont turn on for the rest of the day help!!

The hotness indicate a hardware problem.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My phone will charge in the wall, but wont charge with the usb in my computer. ive bought a new cord, so i know thats not it, but my computer wont recognize my phone, HELP!

See if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make the iPod visible in iTunes.  If it does then restore the iPod via iTunes on your computer.  For recovery mode see:

Have you tried a soft-reset : Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should reappear and it will hopefully reboot.

Reinstall OS X, either from disc or a recovery partition. You don't mention which version of OS X you're running so I don't know which it will be.

    1) authorize iTunes on your wife's user account for her iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect the device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred her purchases in the previous step, your content will be in her library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have the problem then time for an appointment at te Genius Bar of an Apple store since you likely have a hardware problem.

  • IPhone 4 recharges if turned OFF but wont charging if ON

The 1st tragedy was my Dock Connector & Loud Speaker Buzzer were burnt bcoz of overnite charging. 1st scenario was, I slept over my iPhone on my bed. My phone slips under my body while im sleeping along the night & i guess is overheats along d nite. On the next morning i smells burnt toxic gas & i realized that my dock charger cable were merely MELTED, same goes to my Dock Connector. But thank God that my phone was 100% charged and still ON. After that I tried to recharge it again just to test it, & its NOT CHARGING & my iTunes dont detects my phone. So then, that was d last 100% battery dat i used my phone b4 my phone went DEAD.
After dat, i replaced d damaged Dock Connector & Loud Speaker Buzzer coz i assumed dat my phone was fine other than these 2 damaged parts. Since my battery was 0% & d phone was OFF, so I tried to recharge it using d newly installed parts, and IT CHARGES!
BUT! after 4-5% of charging, usually most iPhones will turn ON automatically and it STOP CHARGING! and my phone starts to GETS OVERHEAT on d motherboard side! It seems that my iPhone ONLY CHARGING IN TURNED OFF MODE! After d 4% drained completely, it will charges until 5% & stops charging again when d phone turns ON automatically!
Then i tried to replace using another battery dat have some amount of charges, my phone turns ON and functioning NORMALLY. But IT WONT RECHARGES & SYNCS when i connect with the cables & it starts getting overheats again. But it charges if it turned OFF. I assumes dat it was not either d Dock Connector nor Battery was d problem.
So I suspects dat d Motherboard was damaged bcoz d Liquid Damage Indicator on d damaged Dock indicates dat water was entered d phone, & d motherboard gets overheat while tries to recharge.
But if d motherboard was damaged, how come my phone still fuctioning normally if using a charged battery? I tried to make a Call, 3G Surfing, Play Music etc & it all works fine!
After doing some researchs, now i suspects dat d Power Management Unit IC was damaged. It iz bcoz dat it gets overheats specially on d PMU IC part.
So i sent my phone to replace d PMUIC, & i still waiting & hopes dat it is d last resort to my phone problems...

Please attempt to post in something approaching English, or your own language. These posts are read worldwide, and I find your post almost impossible to interpret, and I am English. "dat it is d" and "it iz bcoz" is incomprehensible to most.

  • My Lenovo IdeaPad N580 wont charge or turn on PLEASE HELP

I have been having the problem for about a month now. When i notised it wasn't chargeing i tried everything to fix it googling the problem until the battery finaly died. I sent it to Lenovo Repair depot and after 2 weeks it came back.
On the Action report it said they repaired the problem i had with No Power so they replaced the Mainboard, and top cover. It also said that my laptop passed all functional tests.
I turned on my laptop after reading the Repair Action Report and it had Low battery so i Plugged in the charger and it wasn't charging then after a few minutes it died and everytime i press the power button the battery LED flashes orange meaning it needs to be charged but it WONT CHARGE im stuck the Lenovo Repair Depot Failed to repair this problem and im am about to just salvage this laptop becuase nothing can fix this issue PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • My IPod Shuffle wont charge or turn on...do I need to get a new one?...

Hi, I recently got a Ipod Shuffle for christmas. It came in a small box, with headphones and a USB cable. I don't know what generation it is, I guess 3rd or 4th, but honestly, I dont know. But I lost it and found it again about a week later. It was turned off. But it won't turn back on. Does it need to charge or do I need a new one? x

    Hey xXFaith_AwesomestXx,
Thanks for the question. Yes, you’ll definitely want to charge the iPod before troubleshooting this issue. If after charging, it still does not respond, try resetting it:
