I-pod syncing to wrong account

I purchased an i-pod for my mother and when I went to set up an account for her, it automatically connected to my i-tunes account. How do I get it out of mine and set up a new one for her? Thanks Mary

This is the iPad forum, so I'm guessing you meant iPad? You can run multiple devices on one iTunes account and maintain separate apps, etc., on them. But, if you really want to have totally separate accounts, download a second copy of iTunes and set it up with your mother's information. Just remember that there are advantages to sharing an iTunes account and Apple ID. Apps can be shared. For example, let's say you buy Print Central for your iPad. You'd be able to load the same app on your mother's device, without having to purchase the app a 2nd time.

IPhone synced to wrong account

My huband upgraded to a iPhone 5 today. He came home and plugged his phone into iTunes without signing in as himself first. Now his phone is synced with my account and getting all my emails / text's etc. I went to settings > iTunes and App Stores and took out my ID. It will not let me enter his ID now. I get a message "cannot connect to iTunes Store". Although, I am able to sign into his account fomr iTunes on the actual computer just fine.
Also, I signed into his account on the computer trying to fix his phone. I plugged it in and it appears to have synced all my stuff into his iTunes account. When I sign in I can't find any of his stuff...it's all my apps etc. And when plugging in the phone to his account the iPhone shows up as "Jess iPhone" which is mine.
Any way to fix all this? What a mess.

I am having the exact same issue. I wanted to synch my photos to my computer. When I connected to itunes, it started to sync with my son's iphone account. Now I have his contacts and photos and mine are gone! This seems like a huge security bug!

Syncing with wrong accounts

I hope someone can help me! I've just got a mini iPad and it seems it has synced with my husbands iPad and iPhone and I now have all of his contacts, calendars and reminders. I didn't set it up like this and it's done it automatically. We think part of the problem is that my husband was using my Apple ID when syncing his iPhone via iTunes on the laptop and he now has my email account on his iPhone. When we go into settings to select a different email account it doesn't give you the option to choose a different one.

You or Apple can do nothing to prevent use of the devices.
For the iPod touch if you turned on the FindMyiPod feature and wifi is on and connected yu may be ablt ot locate it and wipe it by going to iCloud, signing in and going to FindMyiPhone. However, if the iPOd is rectored that feature is deleted.
Report to police and change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod.

You could possibly locate the iPod touch and remotely wipe it if you had installed the Find My iPhone app on it, otherwise, and for everything else, no. There are tools that can be instaleld on PCs that will attempt to report in if stolen, but again these need to be set up in advance.

How I am using wrong account?

There are 2 people sharing this mac, with 2 iTunes accounts. I got a new iPod touch & synced up, but when I go to iTunes or App store to make a purchase, I'm in the wrong account. How do I fix this?

In iTunes, click on "iTunes Store" on the left column. Look in the upper right corner to see what account you are logged into. If it's the wrong one, click on it and select "Sign Out." Then log in with the correct account.

Mobile sync not accepting account password while synced desktops are fine.

Trying to sync my firefox account on my android phone. Phone initially accepts setup but later produces an error stating password is wrong and must reenter. Upon reentry, error reappears. Password was verified on other synced systems.

Cbaldwin, ok. Something in Android doesn't allow Firefox to support two versions of it with Sync. You'll need to remove the Sync account on the old version of Firefox remove that old version of Firefox, then setup Sync on the new version.

Mail going to wrong account

Two of my mail servers that I manage are delivering mail to the wrong account
for example some emails sent to say [email protected] are ending up in [email protected]
If you look at the header sam is not a recipient nor is she a forward in aliases
any help would be greatfully recieved

These are possible causes for an e-mail to end up in the wrong place:
-additional shortnames in WGM
-forward set in WGM
-a .forward file in the user's mail directory
-an alias in /etc/postfix/aliases
-an alias in /etc/postfix/virtual
-a sieve script
-a bcc
-a catchall account
-an autoforward by the original recipient
Hope I didn't miss any.
You should check all these possibilities. If you still need help, post relevant log entries and the unmodified output of postconf -n

I amm also having mail going to th wrong accounts, luckily it is only happening to few out of 170+ accounts.
Pterobyte- I seen your suggestions on the other similiar post and cannot seem to find anything wrong in those areas.

I have gotten hostname as you suggested, and thus far seen one Helo failure prior to that, so thanks for the tip.
The queue is running like 150k to 170k, I've got content filter off right in order to isolate problems.
This wrong account issue is causing some severe creditability issues with this server as you can imagine.

I HAD two accounts because of this problem. I completely removed the problem account from the Apple Mail client. Guess what is happening?? That's right - Mail is still sending from the other account that no longer exists on my computer, and I have absolutely no idea how this is happening. This is incredibly frustrating. When a recipient chooses to reply to my message, quite often I won't get it now because it is going to the other account that has now been deleted from my system. COME ON APPLE!!! You can change the account shortname to whatever you wish to use.
As you can see from my example above. Once you click on the Create User button a new account will be created.
She will need to get her own Apple ID setup so when she starts with iTunes she can open her own iTunes account unless you both want to share the use of the same Apple ID. This can create a bit of confusion if you have your own iPads or iPhones or iPods. As you have discovered it's pretty much one iDevice with one Apple ID.
As for the iTunes library that becomes a more complicated issue.

How do i sync my itunes account with outlook exchange

I have recently upgraded to a 5s from my 4s. I have synced my mail accounts with my exchange and i can send/recieve emails no problem.
However when in itunes my outlook account will not show (as it used to) so i am unable to sync callenders and contacts. I have tried deleting the old phone from iTunes/iCloud and find my iPhone incase this was causing conflict but it does not seem to have worked.
