It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • I Pod will not connect to internet

Please someone help. I can the same as the last post I pod says its connected to Wi fi but will not connect. We have our own BT broadband Wi fi box and all our other laptops and computers connect to it. My son and I have both new Ipods 4th generation which we bought last week. Neither will connect. It is driving us daft. The Wifi details show up on the Ipod and it shows a tick beside it. It lists the Ip address but as last post said no details in router and we don't know what to do to fix this. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP.

Its necessary for me and many others who have a problem with wifi constantly dropping off. Certain routers require this. Turning off, resetting, etc. worked for me but only for a short time. I always had to keep turning off and resetting etc until I started using MAC filtering. I havent had a problem since. Thats where I got the idea. How bout that? Dont tell me its not necessary. Certain peoples setups, it is necessary.
It shouldn't be necessary. It may solve your problem and that's fine but this doesn't generalize to all routers. I really haven't seen other posts where turning on MAC filtering was done for any other reason than as substitute for turning off encryption security when it was the encryption that was causing problems.
If you are having to do this you probably have a problem with your router. I'd check for a firmware update or look for a replacement. Routers aren't that expensive these days.
But if it's working for you now then, hopefully, you will continue to be problem free with MAC filtering.

I now cannot sync as I-tunes says my I-Pod is already connected to a library and wants to erase my music on the I-Pod. What do I do to get around this problem?

An iPod is designed to be synced with only one computer/iTunes library at a time. If you try to sync the iPod with a new/different iTunes library, iTunes on the new/different computer will replace the contents currently on the iPod with whatever is currently stored in its own library.
If the music and content on your iPod is not in iTunes or in a backup somewhere you can use the information in this user tip from another forum member turingtest2 to help you copy this content from the Nano back to the PC and into iTunes.

  • TS3048 I tried the suggestion  given but still the mouse and track pod can't connect to the imac

I tried the suggestion for trouble shooting still the mouse and the track pod can't connect to my imax. Also I observed that after few second both green lights died out too . The batteries are newly installed.

Unfortunately someone has since deleted the other post !!!   What I suggested was No green lights = no power.   And no power has to be the batteries.
Check and if necessary thoroughly clean the contact points inside the devices. Re-check the batteries (were they promotional batteries from a supermarket?).    Put NEW quality batteries into the compartments (you cannot save by buying cheap batteries) and close the cover.    Then shake to see if there is a rattle which may indicate the batteries are ill fitting.
From what I read here, the best batteries are Apple rechargeables and high power Duracell.   I use the former.
