I POD Touch Frozen says needs password to sync?????

Hey everybody, I love my Itouch the same as everybody here. Its a sexy piece of equipment but as things get more sophisticated so does the risk of problems increase. I've found myself in a situation I have yet to solve. I was using my wifi downloading some music and a few apps. After the second app began downloading, my Touch froze. I did a hard reset thinking there would be no problem. Instead it rebooted with the apple Icon and has been stuck on this for over 3 days now. I've tried everything to trying factory restore, hard reset, draining the battery (EVERYTHING). I went on a forum and they did mention that downloading apps off wifi can cause a freeze. My main issue is trying to unlock my Touch again. I have movies and apps worth quite a bit of money on it and I dont want to lose them. The computer detects the device but it states that it cant sync my Touch because it needs a password to unlock it. But I cant put in a password because the Touch is frozen! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP, ANY SUGGESTIONS???

I'm not sure why you would be unable to do a restore unless it asks for a password for that as well, but if you cannot restore the device I don't think we can help you.
Restoring the device is really our last ditch effort for fixing these kinds of issues on the iTouch; if that option is not available then you'll probably have take the device to an Apple Store to see what they say.... I don't think there's anything else to try.

You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

Re-set i pod touch's wi-fi password

I purchased a i pod touch for my son. I wanted to charge and set up for xmas. When I plugged it into my computer for set up it linked the wi-fi to my sons account that he had when he had a nano. we do not remember the password. so now I cant download apps for him. How do I re-set for a new password?

The Nano doesn't have Wi-Fi. Are you looking to reset the password to your router or your Apple ID to make iTunes purchases?

I pod touch frozen screen

On 18th October 2007 I purchased an i pod touch in the USA (I live in Britain), however I have now found that the lower half of the screen is no longer touch sensitive. As this is where the unlock function is located I'm sure you can understand my frustration! The top half of the screen does work as I can slide the off button/slider. I have reset the i pod both through my PC and by holding the two buttons together but the bottom half of the screen still won't respond. I can still control the i pod through a remote control on a docking station but this is not much use if I'm not at home.
I attempted to use the service features the apple website but I think I have tried to order a part-when really I feel that it is the screen that needs replacing and I wouldn't be able to do that myself-it's all a bit confusing! It would be great if anyone could let me know how I could go about getting someone to look at my i pod and if it needs fixing how to go about sending it away or where I could take it (ovbiously I cannot take it back to where I bought it).

I recently bought an i- Pod Touch. Whenever I try to sync I get a message

i recently bought an i-pod touch. I have loaded i-tunes be whenever I want to sync. or when I switch the computer off i get the message " i-tunes-exe Application error. The instruction at "0x00000008" reference memory at 0x00000008". The memory could not be read.
At times the same message comes up with the "8" replaced with a "0".
How can I get rid of the problem?

Ipod touch keeps saying email password is incorrect

Try deleting the account on the iPod an recreating the account. I appear there is an error in some of the information you entered. Frequently it is easier to just recreate the account rather than find the error.

My I Pod Touch won't turn on or sync to Itunes

When I tun on my Ipod Touch it shows the apple sign, then the I tunes arrow usb sign, but It won get out of that. When I sync it to my computer the it says Itunes can't connect with the Ipod because it is blocked with an access code and I need to put in the code to unblock it. However, I can't do that because it doesn't turn on it stays on that Itunes arrow usb sign! It charges though...but that is about all it does!
Can someone tell me how to fix it please?

Actually I just tried it again and it worked!
Just connect your ipod to your computer and that message from itunes saying that it can't connect the ipod will show up. With your Ipod still connected press the power bottom along with the home bottom for a few seconds and the apple sign should show up followed by the itunes arrow usb sign. Then the itunes will pop the question whether or not you want to restore the ipod. Say yes and then in q total of 15 minutes your ipod will be set.

Need password to sync my BB Torch with BB Desktop ?

I have a Torch and wanted to save and sync my calendar and contacts with my Mac through BB Desktop.
Everything run well until my Cie activates the sync with my Business mailbox. Then, when I plugged my Torch to my Mac to save my contacts, the BB Desktop asked for a password...the thing is that I never protected the access to the BB Desktop with any password !?! I have only 5 tries before the system resets my device and erases all information...Would you have any idea about how to get access to BB Desktop and save my contacts and calender without any password??

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
The desktop software prompts for the same password that you created on the BB itself. You must be careful about the fact that the BB keyboard is so tiny that each key does multiple things...typing the same characters on the MAC keyboard may require some modifier (alt, caps, etc.) that you have active on the BB.
For now, untether and enter your password on the BB itself...that will reset the counter back to 10. Pay close attention when you do this and see the exact characters that are being sent...you may be surprised by what you see.

When I try to sync music from itunes library to my ipod touch, it says it can't sync because the connection to the iPod was lost. Please help!

When I try syncing music from my library to my ipod, I get the message that it lost connection. My ipod is plugged in to the computer though. Does anyone know how to fix this?

How is your iPod configured to sync music? In other words, what options and configurations do you have enabled from under your iPod's Summary and Music tabs in iTunes?

HT1351 I have 2 ipods -1st generation Nano and I pod Touch. I tunes will not sync with the former. It appears this has only been a problem since downloading I Tunes 11. On connecting the Nano I Tunes does not seem to recognise it in any shape or form.

Never mind, turns out that by uninstalling the programs "Megakey" and "Megaupload" it had resolved this issue.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

I-Pod Touch connect to portal Hard Disk

I am a person with lots of pictures. It is almost everyday I'll have new pictures. Most of my pictures are stored in a portal hard disk. I have to turn on the computer and make sure portal HD using the same drive name and then I could syn pictures to i-pod touch. Say the truth, it is kind of scaring. If my portal HD doesn't catch the right drive, my i-pod touch will just crush.
Do anyone has the same experience but have a better idea than mine? Thank you in advance.

Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
