I pod touch wont sync or backup as states backup is corrupt?
My I pod touch wont sync! I understand from other communities that I can do this manually using a drag and drop method but how do I turn on manual management. It will no longer back up as it states that the backup is corrupt.
- Try deleting the existing backup (iTunes>Preferencs>Devices. select the backup and click on Delete).

Next I would try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then try restoring the iPod. Note that this will erase the iPod. For recovery mode see:

How are you syncing? OTA or plugged in?
What IOS are you running on your iPod? Are you sure the apps will run on your IOS?
Are you getting an error when you try to sync apps?

I run windows 7 and cant get ipod to sync. I hav run diagnostics and it says everything fine, but ipod goes through entire sying phase then comes up with following message
itunes could not backup ipod becuase asession could not be started

I have the latest update, 5.0.1 and I have the iPod Touch 3rd gen.
I have tried removing itunes and all that is associated with it then reinstalling and keep getting the same message. I've reset my ipod thinking that would help but still, no backup.
In iTunes, Edit, Preference, Device there are no backups.
What am I doing wrong, can you help?

I upgraded from a pc to a mac and now my ipod touch wont sync to my mac
so i recently upgraded from my old pc to a new mac book pro. i managed to move all my purchases from my old pc to my mac but now my ipod touch wont sync with my mac. it keeps saying that i need a newer version of itunes even though im fully up to date. please help!

TS1567 5th Gen I-Pod Touch not Syncing, does come up on PC.
My 5th Gen I-Pod Touch no longer connects to I-Tunes, or Microsoft Sync (In my 2013 Ford Focus) through a sync cable. My computer however, does see the I-pod as a external device, and it does charge through the Sync cable.
I have reset the I-Pod fully, and it still would not connect. I checked and the I-Pod and the version of I-Tunes is the newest version of each.

I-Tunes 11.1.5.5
I ran the I-Tunes Diagnostics for the Device Connectivity test, and Device Sync test both, and received the following.

I have tried two Sync cables in both my car and Itunes, with the same results.
Any help would be appreciated.If the unit has NEVER been jailbroke, first try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless... Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this. -
HT1923 i-pod touch wont work!
My i-pod touch has a USB connection pic as well as the i-tunes logo on it and it wont resent in anyway. Is there a way to fix this? It doesnt show up in i-tunes, nor does it show up in windows explorer. I have re-installed i-tunes, but that hasnt made any difference.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

I just got a 4th gen. ipod touch. it works fine everything is great on it but when i try to sync only check marked songs onto it from itunes it wont sync any songs at all. I thought i solved the problem when i clicked "autofill" in the music tab under "my devices" but all that did was randomly put songs on my ipod. i went to the settings and unchecked "choose items randomly" and tried again but it did the same thing. i know its not my computer cuz the same thing was happening with my old ipod. i have "sync only checked songs" marked but it just wont work. Playlist created on Ipod touch wont sync to itunes?
So i have the iPod touch 2nd gen and I created a playlist and when I plug my iPod into itunes the playlist does not save to itunes :c I synced music onto my ipod touch via the manually manage music and videos which is why i think it wont sync the playlist >.< Does anyone know how to get itunes to have this playlist without removing or changing any of the music on my ipod? Or if i can publish this playlist to add it to a different ipod of mine not through itunes since it wont let me? Please help meeee, itll mean a lot

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection
