I've been seeing this type of thing as well. Is this a traffic issue, or an iTunes (backend) issue, or an iTunes (client) issue?
I've also noticed that at work (Cox business services as ISP) these errors seem more frequent that at home (Cox Cable as ISP).. Could this be the ISPs interfering with iTunes activity?
People that know I'm the "Apple Guy" that have been having these issues have been coming to me asking what's wrong. I've told them that it was prob. a traffic issue and to try again later, but I'm not 100% sure that's the real reason, and hate to be steering people the wrong direction...
Glad your issue is solved, but would still like to know the cause behind it.

Not sure whether to post this under iMac display or iPhoto...
I don't know what's the problem, so I'll try here first.
I have a brand new (2 days old) 2.4GHz iMac with 1GB RAM.
First: A stuck pixel appeared yesterday - only the second day after I'd set the thing up. I fixed it today with JScreenFix, and I don't think it's come back yet... is this normal? Stuck pixels right out of the box?
Second: Today, I was editing a picture in iPhoto and at some point, I tried adjusting the contrast and the computer froze. So I pressed the power button to put it to sleep, waited for the computer to go to sleep, woke it back up and tried again. It worked for a minute and froze again, so I put it back to sleep and woke it back up. I tried one more time and the picture I was working - a photo that was captured in black and white - turned bright pink (screenshot). That scared me, and I put the computer back to sleep. A minute later I pressed the return key to wake it up, and a bunch of horizontal grey and black lines appeared on the screen (photo). When I looked at it closely, I saw there were a bunch of colored pixels in there as well (photo). I heard the sound of me signing on to iChat, which was weird, because I have it set to log me out when I put it to sleep and ask for a password when I wake it back up.
By this point, I was sort of freaked out. I put the computer back to sleep again and woke it back up. I logged in fine, but then I realized my Dock was missing the "shelf." (Screenshot, Photo 1, Photo 2)
I turned off the computer and tried to reset the PRAM. I got two startup chimes, but then it got stuck at the grey screen. After ten minutes I finally had to hold down the power button to turn it off, and then I turned it back on.
It's working okay now, but I'm wondering if this is a software issue (something's wrong with iPhoto?), or maybe a driver issue? My iMac is totally up to date... Has this happened to anyone else? Should I call tech support?
Thanks in advance, and my apologies if there are threads about this problem that I've overlooked.If the pic in iPhoto has a GreyScale colour profile, then convert it to RGB and you’ll have no problems with it. Iphoto supports only RGB pics - cameras, after all, shoot RGB. You can convert the pic to an RGB profile using the Tools menu in Preview. (Tip: use sRGB).
I’ve yet to hear of Sleeping a Mac as a solution for anything. I would have restarted.

Its available in SP for SAP PCUI_GP 633.
The problem originates from class
FcTeamCalendar. For some reason, the character ';' is no longer valid
in the xml, hence, gets rejected by the Java WD runtime. The string is
parsed against the pattern "[a-zA-Z_0-9]*". Hence, I have replaced ';'
by '_'. The IGS colleagues have confirmed that this should be working
fine now.
If you have NWDS available, here are the manual steps to make this
change:
1. Edit class FcTeamCalendar.java.
2. Replace "private static final String SEPARATOR = ";";" by
"private static final String SEPARATOR = "_";"
3. Save your changes, rebuild and deploy. -
To have error msg for RG Part II posting
Dear All gurus,
presently in our system for invoice posting we have defined check for RG Part II posting as WARNING only. I want to hav it as ERROR msg. That is untill user has done Part II posting, system shud not save invoice. I checked system msgs in SPRO> MM>Log. Inv. Verification--> Def Attrbuted of System Msgs, but I cud not find that msg there. Can anyone guide me where can I change this msg to error msg.

Some of my edits of contacts in the iCloud contacts will not save. Instead, I get the message that "Your changes to this contact could not be saved because of a server error". Other, similar, edits are saving and synching to other Apple devices.
Thanks for helpJeffeighmy - I had this same problem last week. I think it is an iCould issue. It resolved itself. Just frustrating. I had reinstalled iCloud Control Panel and it would not let me save contacts or calendars. Then it just happened after a couple of days of trying. My contacts on my iphone are now duplicated, not in Outlook. Then when I delete one on the iphone it deletes it up through icloud and my pc so I loose that contact. Go figure.

the MacPro is the muscle machine and not constrained by power or cooling limitations like the MacBoo Pro is.
OR AT LEAST BE MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR REALLY HEAVY STUFF?
If you press the MacBook Pro like a desktop machine, it will blow fans like a hurricane but will do the job eventually.
The longer you blow fans on a laptop, the sooner it clogs up with crippling dust and shortens the life of the machine.
You'll need the top end 15" or better, not the 13" as it has no dedicated graphics, only CPU graphics.
Preferably if you just now getting into video, you should be considering Avid on a Windows 7 tower, it's because Apple has been ignoring the MacPro for hardware updates to improve it and it seems like they don't want to carry it anymore. Also the last Final Cut Pro version had Hollywood up in arms as Apple removed a lot of required abilities to make it more "consumer friendly" which upset the Pro market who likes control.
Apple is focusing on the consumer computing market and getting away from the "Pro" market which needs the heavier hardware to handle video needs. They stopped selling the X-RAID and the X-Server, so Apple really isn't a "computer" company any longer.
Sure you can use a MacBook Pro and a external monitor for doing home movies and such occasionally, but if your into serious production you need to consdier other options now.
There is nothing wrong in getting a MacBook Air and a Windows 7 professional video tower too. -

Hello, I am from a Korean institution. We are looking into enrolling in iTunes U, but are aware that our country, South Korea, is yet enrolled in the iTunes U. Can our institution still enroll and if so, what is the procedure? Or do we have to wait for our country to be enrolled in iTunes U first? We're surprised South Korea isn't listed yet among the 26 countries so far, considering how it's one of the more developed countries and also highly advanced in the technology field. Thank you!

Sorry, but iTunes U is not available to institutions in South Korea at this time. It is only available to institutions in those countries on the list. Why Apple has not yet been able to provide that service in your country or when (or indeed if) they ever will is something none of us here can say.

My follow-up question:
So then, is if there's a general standard procedure country governments have to follow in order to have the iTunes U service provided (ex. a site/online application on Apple). So in other words, if the Korean government were interested in enrolling in iTunes U, what would they have to do/what channel(s) would they have to go through? We are a government-affiliated institution so if we're provided the necessary steps, we may be able to forward the procedure along to the right government body that would be responsible for setting this up.

If or when Apple will extend iTunes U to your country is something none of us here can say, and Apple will not until such time as they're ready to make an announcement. What Apple's criteria and requirements are for being able to open iTunes U in a given country is unknown; there is no "procedure" that any of us here can state or direct you to that you could initiate. It's totally up to Apple, and if they are working on this, I'm sure they know who in the SK government they would need to work with.
Sorry, but you will just have to wait and hope that something develops in the future.

Can Itune get too full whereas it will stop downloading podcast automatically or manually? I just exported my 2006 " bibleonradio" podcast to a folder on my harddrive. Immediately itune started downloading podast from that site. But for the last 4-5 months it would hit and miss with downloading and the last 2 weeks it quit altogether.I would go to the site and download the podcast to a selected itune folder as a mp3 for listening.
Do I need to do some type of maintenance to prevent this from occurring? The site is simple reading of bible scriptures. Could itunes get confuse with 2006 podcasts, thinking I already have the podcast, even though the release date for the new podast are mark 2007?

Look at the Podcasts in your iTunes Library. Do you see a little exclamation point to the left of the listing? If so, click on that.

I have that symbol on some of my other podacst sites, but not this one because I listen to it daily, sometimes 2-3 times a day. Could the exclamation symbol for the othe sites, which goes away if I start listening to them again affect this podcast? but these site with the exclamation also hit and miss when itunes downloads, as much as 2-3 weeks once I start it back up.

What's happened to me is that some Podcasts I subscribe to I might get lazy about listening to. Several of the Podcasts will pile up, and after a while iTunes will stop updating if you haven't listened to them. When I click on that little exclamation point in a circle, it will tell me that iTunes hasn't been updating that podcast because I haven't listened to it in a while. I think it asks if you want to continue (or maybe you have to click on subscribe again to get them started back).
If you are listening to this particular podcast every day, that shouldn't be a problem. And not listening to the other ones shouldn't affect this one. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I'm not sure what is causing it.
You might go to iTunes> Preferences and click on the tab for Podcasts and see what your settings are there.

Trying to come up with an alternative to incomplete podcasts downloads from a website. What I'm trying to do is convert some the missing podcasts file from a website that itune don't download-reason unknown. I'm able to download a mp3 file of the podcast from the web site to my desktop, but I would like to add this to my podcast library under the same name of the podcast that I subscribed, then add to my playlist for continuous playing. Is this possible?

Some Podcasts have many episodes and when I subscribe, I get them all at once. But with some podcasts ( http://www.bibleonradio.com/ ), only a few episodes download, and I know there are many others available either because I can see them listed by going directly to the site or because they are numbered and some are clearly missing. I have tried setting my preferences both to download the latest edition of a podcast when I update or to download ALL editions. No difference either way.
Strangely enough, if I am patience , sometimes the gaps will fill themselves in or all at once when I choose to click update. Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I email the web administrator and they said they were able to go to the itune store and download all the recent episodes. Below is my email conversation.

I just went out to the iTunes store and tried to download those dates you had a problem with and I was able to download them without any problem. Maybe you should try again. And yes, you can manually download them from our website and store them into your podcast library. I’ve done that before and it works too.

Deleting the application rarely solves anything on Macs. A better starting point is normally to delete the preference file for the application (in Users/~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.itunes.plist) or see if you have the same problem in another user account on the computer.

How to know whether a servlet had completely sent its response to the request.
The problem what i am facing is, I send response to a client's request as a file.
The byte by byte transfer happens, now if the client interrupts or cancels the operation, the response is not completed.
At this stage how to know the response status. I am handling all exception, even then I am unable to trap the status.
Please help me out.

I submitted my podcast about three weeks ago, and it has yet to be listed under Podcasts->Music. The podcast can be searched for, and the phobos address works fine. Is there a problem with my code?

Your podcast will only be seen on its category page if it is popular enough, or the iTunes staff singles it out for "New & Notable" or "Featured." There isn't much you can really do beyond the suggestions given in the "Top 6 Podcasting Questions" stickied at the top of this forum.
You will probably never be in browse either, but that is because that feature cannot seem to handle any new listings. (mmm, buggy!) -
Yesterday I clicked the "link Facebook account" on the website www.kotaku.com.au. Prior to that I can't remember having this issue. Not sure if its related.
My first idea was to use safe mode, which worked. so i disabled my addons in non-safe mode but it still didn't work.
The only thing that solved the problem was clearing my cookies, so for now I have the cookies of kotaku blocked. Obviously not an ideal situation.
I found these error message in console:

I was originally going to post this as a website error, however when trying to ask this question using Firefox I was presented with my log in name and a log out button, rather than the Ask a New Question page. Once again, it worked fine when I disabled cookies.
So now I'm thinking it may not be a single site problem.
Can't find many useful topics on the internet, needing some help.Thanks for the flag J.K. - they contaced me and solved my problem. On this account (which I created just to ask this question), I log in with my email rather than my user name (mtalldud). On the account that I was having trouble with, they told me to use my user ID instead of my email to log in and it worked. This is a bit confusing and seems a bit inconsistent but at least I don't need this temporary account any more to get into this community and find answers!

I can't login to my account. I had to create a new acct to post this.
I have created my second new account today in order to post this. I wanted to post a question earlier, but when I tried to sign in Firefox told me the password I entered was wrong. It was not wrong. I created a new account and posted my question. Then to see if I could figure out what was wrong with my original account, I signed out of my new account and tried to sign in on my original account. No luck.
So then I tried to sign in to my new account. Same response: wrong password. I tried resetting my password four times and each time, after resetting it and being presented with the sign in page again, I got the same incorrect password response.
To post this I created another new account. To test whether this was related to the fact than I am now using Firefox 5, I tried to sign in with IE to both of my other accounts. No luck, same problem both times.I figured it out. The short explanation is this: Use different email addresses when you set up accounts, and for the password reset, use that same email address. Otherwise, Firefox will connect the reset with either nothing, or with a different account that had that email address assigned to it.

We have a custom form developed based on Template.fmb, when we register in custom application top(XXLLP_TOP/forms/US folder), it is giving error "Function not avilable for this responsibilty. Change responsibility or contact sysadmin".
In AOL responsibility , all we did was
a) Registered custom form XXLLPINVPKWB for custom "LLP Custom Application",
b) Registered a custom Fuction for the form
c) Assigned the Function to the Inventory menu (INV_NAVIGATE)
d) Wwitch Resp to the Inventory resp
e) Click on the menu entry for our custom form and its giving and error that the Function is not available for this responsibility. Please contact system admininstrator
My understanding is that when I click the menu it should atleast
give an error that the fmx is not available in so and so path
in the status bar and not the error message "Function is not available ...
Please help us resolving this issues
Thanks,Did you set the CUSTOM_TOP variable for this application in the env file? What does "echo $XXLLP_TOP" return after sourcing the env file as applmgr user?

Podcast Producer - workflow is posted but the podcast is missing
everything seems fine otherwise would really like a hand with this as i'm stumped.
so i can create a work flow

i can see the workflow in podcast capture
i can uploads to it
no sign of the podcast after thatPodcast Capture is designed to work with Podcast Producer, which is part of OSX Server. If you are running that you would do best to ask in its Forum. I don't know whether you can get any use out of Podcast Capture with non-server OSX.

IPhone videos lose quality when shared
