Hi there nursegrl02! We can help here with your questions regarding the upgrade fee and device charge. The upgrade fee is a one time fee that is applied when upgrading with a 2-year contract. If you pre-order with a two-year contract, you would need to add a credit card to your order as you will be charged for the device once it ships out. If you happen to purchase the iPhone with Verizon Edge, there is no upgrade fee. You will also be billed for the device in installments. You may have to pay a down payment with Edge. Did you upgrade with Verizon Edge or our Device payment plan in the past? If so, that is most likely why you were not charged an upgrade fee.

No. I then asked what Verizon did for me to earn my $30 and again was smartly told that they had changed my contacts, showed me how to use the phone and had set up my apps. Maybe I'm dreaming, but I'm sure the guy at the Apple Store that sold me the phone AND set it up would have something to say about that. Oh, she did say that if I'd gone to the Verizon store to buy my new phone, they would have told me. I stopped going to the retail stores ever since they stopped serving customers. Clearly, Tasha wasn't feeling how badly jipped I'm feeling and I asked to speak to someone above her that could maybe understand that I didn't want to pay this outrageous and simply unethical hidden fee. She told me that her manager Troy, was on vacation for 2 weeks and couldn't be contacted and that no one was taking over in Troys absence, so I was simply out of luck...BUT I could write a parcel post to a nameless person, in a city far away where I would have no idea how to follow up. Fine, Tasha, you win, could I please do the survey after we hang up so I can at least talk about my service tonight, "Oh, sorry we would have had to offer that to you before we started the discussion but now it's too late". $350 a month I pay to Verizon, I bet ATT would like my money!
Should anyone at Verizon care to call me back, the only call I want is the one refund my $30.

Did you go post on Apple's forum about how the salesman that knew about the upgrade fee didn't tell you? Welcome to the new generation where your expected to educate your self.
Due to your choice of going else where purchase your device, you take liability of finding out what fees you will incur, Verizon can't hold your hand and advise when they aren't aware of what's going on.
AT&T will take your upgrade fee money I am sure!!! Either way you go, your going to pay.
You probably knew about the fee, and thought if you went through Apple they wouldn't charge it.
Your ignorance to the fee doesn't make it hidden.
Secret about Customer service, it is their job to get you off the phone with out talking to a Supervisor. As that Supervisor has better things to do than listen to the same sob story the last rep had to listen to, only to tell them the exact same thing.

I completely understand when I buy a phone using an upgrade I get it at a discounted price and Sprint extends the contract I have and charges fees to make up the cost. However I received a phone as a birthday gift from my boyfriend who bought the phone for me at full price. I was charged $36 as an upgrade charge. Are you serious?

AT&T and T-Mobile both have been charging $18 for their fee for a long time, and this February AT&T doubled that fee to $36 — making Verizon’s $30 seem not so bad.

Ok Fellas, let me give you a clue: Games, particularly those that make heavy use of graphics and sound are notoriously power hungry. In fact, when I was in the Navy many years ago, the folks working on the NTDS (Navy Tactical Data System) computers used a version of Space Invaders to load test the AN/UYK-43 computers.
I have also noticed that all of my laptops (I have a brand new Toshiba dual core, an older Toshiba single core, plus 2 Dell dual core machines) have significantly shorter battery life when I play Company of Heroes than when I am just reading e-mail or surfing the 'Net. I have also noticed the same behavior when I play games on my 4th gen Touch and my iPhone 4.
The fact is, iOS 5 did make some major improvements as well as adding some nice functionality like iMessage, wireless synch, and such, but the down side is that depending on how you use the device battery life can be shorter that what you may have experienced with pervious versions of iOS. Its just the nature of the beast...

Great question, it's important to have an idea when you can get the phone. Currently, the launch date annouced is September 19th, 2014. The stores will receive phones on that day as released and they will sell on the same bases, first come first serve.

i want to activate my iphones and its written to calll support because its temporarily unavailable? how could i activate my iphones this morning?

i have updated my iphone 3gs in ios 5.0.1 and in itunes it tells me that " no sim card detected".the problem remains for a month now.I'm stuck without my iphone and any of apple suports do not tell me any solution about this problem.i have paid 550 euros for my phone and the iphone is useless!! somebody must sue the apple!! they have no rights to screw us like this..

When I was running this morning I was listening to my iPhone, and a song came on that I really liked but I didn't recognise, is there anyway that we can invent an option on Siri to say "who" and then it tells you the details of the song i.e. song title and artist.
Then when I create a new running playlist I can add this to my collection.
As most people these days, probably have a lot of "whole" albums, but only listen to a few of the songs, it's always great when you unearth these little hidden gems.

Then you're going to have to wait till you get home. The phone needs to be connected to iTunes. It's in recovery mode.
Since you've never synced, your data is gone. There is no way to recover it. Unless you were running iOS 5 and were backing up to iCloud... but I kind of doubt that since you would have had to plug it in to iTunes to update it to iOS 5 in the first place.
I would HIGHLY recommend you update it to iOS 5 and set up iCloud backups when you get it home. That will at least help prevent you from finding youself in this situation again.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Pre Order iPhone 4 at at&t

My mom was going to pre order iPhone 4 in her name using her credit card and then giving it to me to be my phone. However all the pre order problems wasn't able to get through. Now that she can get through it cannot find her address. She has a PO Box where she gets her mail for the mail is not delivered in her town and a physical address for fed ex and ups. She called apple and they couldn't find her address so they said she could not order it in her name and send to me because her name and address had to be the billing address. Also she called her local at&t store and they said she could come in and pre order it there, but now they are no longer taking pre orders at their store. Is there a way to call apple and have the account set up in her name, but send it to my address? Both companies seem to be giving the run around. All she want to do is pre order one when one becomes available and even pay for it during pre order at at&t store or over apple on the phone, but can't seem to do that since they are not allowing pre orders at at&t and apple can't find her address on their system. She has fed ex delivered there. You think someone at apple could over ride their own system and have it sent to address where fed ex and ups know where she is at The closest apple store is like 5 hours away.

your bound to get a long line up where ever you are near an official apple store, but if youtr planning on getting by one of your carreirs it depends where you live as i was able to get iphone on the day it was released at my carriers store, though im exploring other options atm, whether it worth buying it out on apple store, work out my average data usage and just buy data packs for like $5 - $20, but no idea what atm.

In May and August in 2013, I was charged a BT Bill Payment with amounted to £125.94 and £126.31 respectively. These were debited out of my bank account.
