I Pre-Ordered An Album But It Won't Download

I pre-ordered Ariana Grande's "Yours Truly", and it says it is released, but it won't let me play any of the songs. iTunes already charged me for the album, but when I try to play, it won't let me. It just says pruchased, I looked at everything that I thought would help, but nothing did.

Check your purchase history to download previous purchases. Also you can check on your computer in your iTunes folder to see if the purchase has been downloaded. If you find it there you should be able to double click it and it should open in iTunes.

I have recently pre-ordered 2 albums with 3 gift cards i recieved for christmas. iTunes is not letting me download my 2 albums. I would like to have them in my library since they are already out and purchased.

Like my title says i pre ordered the mmlp2 album, then itunes started to download the monster (single) and it stopped by that song it didnt download the other ones so i canceled my pre order re pre ordered it again and got the clean version (which i dont want but it went from my account) then i cancelled that and pre ordered again but thiis time the explicit version and itunes still wont download the other songs despite the monster please help me i almost used all my itunes money for nothing.

Same happened to me when trying to pre order MMLP2. Only took 5 minutes to figure out. On your itunes store at the top of the screen where it says your username, or email for apple ID. Click it and your account information will pop up. One of the options was saying "you have 18 songs ready for download". Click that and they will start downloading. Easy fix, though auto download the second the album is released would make more sense.

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with pre-order issues. It contains steps to report your issue for further assistence:
You can use your email receipt to report a problem. If you use Family Sharing and you have an problem with a shared item, ask the family member that bought the item to report the problem using the steps below.
To report a problem with an item you bought, follow these steps:
Find the email receipt for your purchase.
Click Report a Problem under the item you're having a problem with.
Enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the item, then click Report a Problem.
Click Report a Problem next to the item you are having a problem with.
Select your problem from the Choose Problem menu.
Follow the onscreen instructions. You might be asked to describe the problem in a text field.
Click Submit and we'll review your problem.
Find out what to do if an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open.

You can pre-order music and movies from the iTunes Store prior to their public release date. Pre-ordered items will download when they become available.
If an item isn't yet available, you may be able to pre-order it and download it when it becomes available. Items available for pre-order will have an orange pre-order button that displays the pre-order price. Most pre-orders will show an expected release date near or below the pre-order button. When the pre-order item becomes available, your account will be billed for the pre-order, and the item will appear in the Purchased section of your account. If there is a billing issue that prevents us from billing your account when the item is released, you'll receive an email notifying you that the item is available. You need to click the link within the email, using a computer and the latest version of iTunes, to fulfill the pre-order. How can I pre-order an album but send it as a gift?

I would like to send someone an album as a gift that is due for release May 11. When I pre-order the album (Letting Go by Jennifer Knapp), I don't see an option for sending it as a gift. Is this possible, and what are the steps? Thanks!

Sorry, but to the best of my knowledge, it's not possible to gift a pre-order.

HT201272 I pre-ordered an album, but only 2 of the songs from that album are showing up to download. What do I need to do to get the rest of the album that I already bought?

Not sure what is going on here. I pre-ordered an album. One of the songs was available for instant download so I have that in my library now. I received an email saying that the rest of the album is available for download. When I go into my purchased songs as instructed, it only shows 2 other songs from that album. Not sure what I need to do.

Depending on your settings, the songs may already have been downloaded to your iTunes library.

If you've enabled iTunes to automatically download prepurchased content, then your pre-order content may already be downloaded to your library. Tried to pre-order an album but not working. Please help!!!

I tried to pre-order an album. It was one that came with a song that downloaded immedietly. I clicked pre-order and it said some error and to try again. I went to and realized I was charged for that one song that you can get first. So i thought it went ahead and pre-ordered the album anyway. I looked in my purchased history and saw nothing about the album or that one song, so it charged me for nothing! Any ideas how i can fix this?

I couldn't find an answer so i just emailed iTunes support and they fixed it for me. Thanks anyway!!!!

I pre-ordered an album, but a song was released after I pre-ordered it and it says purchased, but I can't download it.

About a week ago,I pre-ordered Prism by Katy Perry on my IPod and she had already released Roar and Dark Horse, which downloaded. But yesterday at midnight, Walking on Air. And this morning I tried to download it, it said purchased, but I couldn't download it.
Has anyone else had a similar problem? Please let me know if you have a solution.

Hi I pre ordered School Boy Q's new album Oxymoron I paid the money for the preorder and got 4 songs the album came out today and so when I checked if I could download it I couldn't it says I have purchased all the songs on the album I phoned support but they hung up on me and this problem also happens on my computer please help.

I Pre-ordered an item but i can't download it?

Over a month ago i pre-ordered The Vamps' EP on itunes, it has said that it was pre-ordered for all of this time. Today it was released and everyone downloaded it, but i couldnt. i went into purchased and couldnt find it, so i then went on to my emails. i was given an option of clicking on a link- which lead me to the apple store and told me i had to download iTunes (which i have obviously already got)- and to check for available downloads. when i checked for available downloads it said that there were none. The EP is recognised as purchased, but when i check my Purchased list it doesnt appear. why is this happening? It has really upset me because i have been looking forward to listening to it for a long time and this has let me down.

I had the same issue for awhile and I gave up on it. I just recently got up and decided to do something about it, googled it and saw you guys had the same issue. So it gave me motivation to figure it out again. Eventually I figured it out. Hopefully the same steps work for you guys. Not sure what fixed it because I tried two things before I went back to Itunes to reattempt.
My goal was to try to delete cookies. Being new to Mac. I didnt know what i was doing. I ended up erasing my safari history before I figure it out. The second thing I did was go to Safari, Click on Safari (top right) and hit "Reset Safari..." Gave me a few options here. I selected "Clear History, Reset Top Sites, Remove all website data, Clear the downloads window. I went back to Itunes and my first attempt to redownload a song pop up a notification that I had a preorder available to download.
I hope this helps you guys like it did me.

Probably not; the terms of sale for the iTunes Store say that all sales are final. But you can contact the iTunes Store and ask.

HT5714 I preordered an album but it won't download after I got ITunes money in my account

I preorderd Midnight Memories but when the album was released I didn't have money in my Itunes account, so I bought an Itunes card ($25) & when I went to download it, it wouldn't let me. It just says 'purchased' but it's not in my music. And when I look in "not on this IPod" under "purchased" it's not there. :( Or in downloads. I rreeeaaalllyyyy want to download this album. It's important to me Ughhh.. HELP ME PLEASE ILY

Okay, I had the same exact issue. Here's what I ended up doing. I went into settings>music> and then selected it to show all. Them I exited settings and went to artists>One Direction and scrolled to the album. It showed 'complete album' and I just did that.
