On my old Firefox I had a button that told me when a new email came to my hotmail account I clicked on it and it opened my inbox straight away, It had a check for new emails as well, this has now gone. I had another that I could click on and it showed me the weather and one that opened a calender, money converter, translator etc. The tabs were lower down on top of the main page not just under the File Edit View etc tabs. I want my old browser back . How can I get rid of this Firefox 8 or how do I change it to I had it set up before

After opening my yahoo mail window, I keep getting a very narrow dialogue box with the words "log into Xmarks" I cannot ... and everything is frozen. How can I get rid of this thing, and what is it? I have to hit CNTRL + ALT + ESC to get rid of it.

I constantly get the message "uninstal set javascript application since downloading new version of Firefox today - how do I get rid of this

I downloaded the new version of Firefox today and ended up with the error box or message -javascript application - uninstall set. I cannot get rid of it and it appears with every key stroke. It's on everything I use on Firefox.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

How do I get rid of this unwanted and inappropriate popup?

I have written my own windows installer in C++ using Visual Studio 2010. It works fine. I recently added code to it so that the application installed by the installer is included in the Control Panel's "Uninstall Programs" list
and have wired everything up in my installer to perform the uninstall operation when passed the /U command line switch. So far everything works fine.
I put a confirmation popup into the uninstallation code in the installer which comes up in the beginning when uninstall is selected within the "Uninstall Programs" control panel applet. It's simply a Yes/No Message Box asking for a confirmation
of the uninstallation. If I click 'Yes' to confirm the uninstallation request, everything works perfectly.
The problem occurs when I click 'No.'   If I click 'No', I get a popup stating that "This program might not have uninstalled correctly."
Does anyone know how I can prevent this 'Program Compatibility' dialog box from being issued by Windows (8.1) ?

Ok, this does turn out to be a windows version compatibility issue. Once corrected, the problem disappears.
When an application is compiled by Visual Studio 2010 without an explicit compatibility manifest specified, it defaults to a compatibility level of Windows Vista.
The compatibility level can be seen for all running programs in resmon.exe, CPU tab. Once there, right click any one of the column headers and choose "Select columns..." Add the "Operating System Context" column.
Before adding the explicit manifest file, my installer program, compiled using Visual Studio 2010, showed an "Operating System Context" of "Windows Vista."
To add an explicit manifest file to the project, I first created a file that I called "Compatibility.manifest" (you may call it anything you wish) and put the following xml into the file (without the START and END indicators, shown below). I
put the file into my 'Res' project subfolder:

After compiling, I tested the installer (both install and uninstall options through the Control Panel uninstall programs applet) for Windows 7, 8.1 and X (10). Windows X doesn't seem to mind that the highest compatibility level is for Windows 8.1.
When I discover what the compatibility GUID is for Windows X, I'll add that to Compatibility.manifest.
I provide this detail hoping that it may help someone else.

Had the sudden appearence of a "books" folder that contains the Kindle app. How do I get rid of this folder and return to just the Kindle app icon on the screen?

I have an iTouch. I do not remember exactly what happened, but I now have a folder labeled "Books" that contains my Kindle app.
Previously, I simply had the Kindle app on the home screen.
How do I remove the Books folder and return to the previous setup, i.e. just the Kindle app on the home screen?

Is there another app in the folder like the iBooks app? Yu can move two apps together and when they combine and be placed in a folder. Itunes will guess/suggest a folder name and you can change it. If there are tow apps in the folder just go to that folder and touch and hold the an app and after they start wiggling mode one app out side the folder and folder will disappear if there were only two apps in the folder. To stop the wiggling depress the Home button once.

How do I get rid of this blue circle on the top left corner of my window?

I had just installed OSX mavericks for my macbook and now whenever I open up firefox there's a weird blue circle in the top left corner of the firefox window.

The problem appeared today after installing the latest update on MacOS 10.8.5 (which was out for a couple of days/weeks; I don't reboot my system that often). The auto-update of my Firefox is enabled so I don't know exactly when that got upgraded. Current version is 27.0.1. I have the minimalistic theme enabled "Default Mod 28" from http://gpopper.deviantart.com/.
When I switch to the default theme "Default 27.0.1" from Mozilla, there is no blue circle. When I switch back to the GPopper theme, the blue circle is there again. It is consistently. I would be great to have a Safari-like theme on Firfox, especially for the Bookmarks Toolbar, which is for my preferences too high in the default theme.

HT1766 I have an IPAD 2 and when I awoke it I received an error message; "This IPad hasn't been backed up for 3 weeks." It goes on to tell me when backups occur but it doesn't back up automatically. How can I get rid of this message and use my IPad?

Anything related to the internet is slow or doesn't work. My Outlook crashes constantly and I hate using Mail. I knew better than to downgrade to the new OS but did it anyway. This is so irritating.

Messages icon indicates that there is an unopened message but when i go into it the message is blank and no option to delete it. Any ideas how i can get rid of this and stop it from opening up in the blank message each time i open my messages?

Hard restart.. While the phone is powered in, hold the power and home button. Hold them down and keep them held down. the phone will eventually shut itself off and reopen. keep held down till you see the appl elogo, then release. This will not delete anything off your phone, it will just force all apps to stop their current process. If you just turn the phone on and off, it will just pick up where it left off. Good luck
