I actually am illiterate on the use of the finder to to view photos in folders. I guess I will go to a class at the local Apple store for a lesson on the uses of finder .
My method of viewing my photos are through events in I photo.
1. Download from camera or scan in from old photos.
2 I organize photos into events by occasion, or happenings in a certain year, or a group of photos with memorabilia of a certain person from childhood and on. etc.
3. Because Iphoto does not allow rearranging as I was able to do in my old PC with Corell, I drag all of the photos to an " album" on the left side of sceen.
4. I arrange photos in "order" after which I number each photo in sequence. I do this for a few of reasons.
          - if a photo is accidentally deleted I know it. I can usually remedy this by checking my trash or
rescanning.
          - I can sort by title without complications and this holds in "album"
5. The pictures will re arrange automatially to match the album in I photo.
6. This worked great in I-photo 09 but now in mountain lion the pictures in events go back to "
sort by date" and will not hold "sort to Title"each time I photo is closed down. What a nuicance it is to have to go to view and click "title" again and again every time Iphoto is opened.
7. Can I go back to Photo 09? .

It's just the webpages themselves that are grayscale
When a page loads, it is coloured for a few seconds depending on how long it takes to load, then back to grayscale.
I felt like maybe I pressed a combination of keys to activate this, but not sure. Was chatting on Facebook and probably pressed something.

Broadcast safe blacks and whites - Premiere CS4 - How to get?

Hi. I recently had a fellow editor over and he saw some of my footage and mentioned that my whites were too bright and to make sure that they were broadcast safe before exporting them. He didn't know how to do it in Premiere as he uses Final Cut. He said that Final Cut does it automatically. Does Premiere Pro do it Automatically?
After mentionng it to me, I did notice that my whites were quite bright. Below are some examples.
These are two frames taken from the timeline of a sequnce which had already been exported as an AVI.

yes, the tv and computer monitor will look different...probably why you thought the whites were OK when editing on computer.
I use CS3 so your version may be slightly different ....
im gonna put up some images to illustrate...
you can use broadcast colors (effect )...drag onto clip ...and see if that works OK for you ...
export a small sample of product ( shrink work area to do small sample ), burn dvd and look on TV...only way to see if its working...can use dvd RW if you want and your dvd player can play dvd rw.
if broadcast colors doesnt work well for you, you can also use the OUTPUT on levels...which is normally 0 and 255...black and white...
after you click "OK" on the levels menu you see in sample is when you see change in program monitor...( in my version cs3 )..you wont see change until you click OK, except for in the little tiny window of the levels box....
I personally use the levels adjustment (output only ) more often than the broadcast safe colors for WHITES...

With the new iOS 7 update when I go to set a pic as my wallpaper it will not adjust the size like before so it fits to the screen. How can I get it too

I bank by the internet. I upgraded to Firefox 4.0, and my bank indicates it does not accept this version of Firefox. Also, I was using 4.0 to order some products over the internet, and noticed that the "padlock" indicating a secure(encrypted) connection is not present on the 4.0 version--so I did not complete my order.
When I tried to reload my previous version(3.6), I got a message that the file was corrupted(possibly because I upgraded to 4.0). I didn't have these problems before I upgraded to 4.0--how do I get a clean version of Firefox 3.6( your website only offers 4.0)?

In Firefox 4 you no longer have the Status bar that showed the padlock in previous Firefox versions.
You can click the "Site Identity Button" on the left end of the location bar to see the padlock.<br />

Updates are free, what you need is an Upgrade...
First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.

Welcome to the HP Support forums. I understand that you would like to print black and white from your iPad to your Photosmart 5510 printer.
AirPrint doesn't support many print settings, such as grayscale and black only but don't worry there is a way it can be accomplished. If you download the HP ePrint Mobile app to your iPad one of your print settings allows you to choose between color and grayscale and if the printer supports it, black only. I have included a screen shot from my iPad of the HP ePrint app that shows the setting. The printer I had chosen (I don't have any of the Photosmart 5510 series printers) had the option of black only. I've also included the HP ePrint Mobile App FAQ document for your reference.

The online course that I am taking uses firefox 4.0 but when I updated to 5.0 I can't access my classes. I need to go back to 4.0 to do my work. how do I get a 4.0 version, ASAP?

I have been taking online courses at Colorado Tech and when my firefox updated to 55.0, my classes were mot accessible because they suppported version 4.0 or lower. I can't seem to find a version 4.0 to go back to, since 4.0 has been working fine for me. Iif not, I will have to go with google chrome. I need a solution ASAP.

I had this same problem when my school's email page refused to work in Firefox 5. I solved it by installing the User Agent RG extension, then changing my user agent to IE7 before accessing my school email. Once you install the extension, you'll have to show your menu bar when you want to use it, then you'll find the User Agent submenu under the Tools menu. Hope this works for you, too.

How best to print a color photo in black and white

I use the Black and White adjustment on a series of colour photo's I've taken. However when I go to print the photo's, colour still comes out in the print. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

It might be a problem with your printer's color profile. Did you try to set the color profile in the print dialogue to "black and white" (choose: "more options" in the print panel) ?

Can someone please solve this mystery for me?
I took a black and white photo with my Nikon D40. It appears as black and white when I play it back in the camera.
When I transferred this black and white photo, along with other colour photos, to iPhoto, it showed up as a colour photo on my computer.
Why is this?

You didn't take a black and white photograph. Your D40 can't take a black and white photo, it can only take full colour. To make the photo look black and white the D40 set a flag on the file. This flag is an instruction: display me a certain way. iPhoto is not aware of the flag and so shows you the full colour pic.

At this time there is not an option or a default to set black and white only from the front panel of the printer. Some applications may give you settings in the Application itself for color or black and white but that would be the only place to change the color of the document/photo for your print jobs.

Every printer is a little different so you may have to do some searching through the settings. I don't have an HP Photosmart C6100 here so I can't say for sure where the setting is for that printer.
The closest thing I have to that model printer here is an HP OfficeJet 6310
In that model you choose Paper Type/Quality
In drop down menu under Color you select Gray Scale
Then you can still save the preset as I described in my previous post.
If the C6100 is different than that you may just have to search through option pages and explore the drop down selections.
Which I could be more specific, but they are all a little different.

Another way.
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import.

I watched it upload about 400 photos, one by one. They're somewhere, but they don't appear in the iPhoto library. As iPhoto was deleting them from my camera, it got hung up, then a message came "you should eject before disconnecting a device." I hadn't touched the camera. The message came by itself. I couldn't get iPhoto to respond, so I disconnected the camera and did a Force Quit. Opening it back up, the pictures were gone. Can somebody help me?

What version of iPhoto are you running? Assuming it's iPhoto 9 or later Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

How do I get Photos to display filenames?

Ok so I changed from iPhoto to Photos on my Mac. Then I deleted iPhoto and its library and everything seems good. One issue I have is that as a designer I have about 100,000 images on my Mac, all categorised into clients and then jobs through folders and albums etc. I never file images by date or location. So, for any client > job I may have 20 almost identical images that only differ by exposure, point of focus etc. In the past I have relied on the filenames to identify or specify an individual image. That no longer seems possible with Photos, Photos seems to want to only specify a title to display and not the image filename. How do I get Photos to ignore the title and display to me the file numbers permanently and not have to go through ‘get info.’ Or is there a way I can batch change all my images filename’s to Title’s?
Even though I have deleted iPhoto and its library I could go back through Time Machine and put it back if required. Mac Pro, Yosemite 10.10.3.

It's titles that appear below the photos in Photos rather than filenames, filenames can be seen in the get info window.
However in the discussion below Léonie discusses a script for using filenames for titles.
