I puchased a new laptop can i move CS6 to the new system?

how can i move CS6 to a new system

You do not want to try to move it.  Just install it like you did the first time.  You are allowed to have two activated installations so there is no need to deactivate and uninstall on the original machine - though you can if you choose to.  If you need to download to install you might find a link thru your Adobe account online if you purchased it from Adobe.  You can also download thru the following page:

  • How can I move CS6 to a new computer?

I received my license through TechSoup. My macbook pro is old and I am replacing it when the next models come out (we hope in a couple of months)  Right now I need to use only one app (inDesign) which I currently have in trial mode. I don't have room to put the whole CS6 on this computer, though I could put it on an attached HD.  What should be my plan of attack so as to not invalidate my license?

you are entitled to two concurrent installations/activations with your one license, but if you don't need cs6 on your old computer, deactivate (help>deactivate) it.
when your new computer arrives install (do not move/transfer/copy/etc) cs6 on your new computer and activate it with your serial number.

  • Help I have purchased a new laptop with windows 8 and with the new layout of itunes store i cannot find the store menu to authorise it . Any help gratefully received ;)

any ideas on this one - i am slowly loosing the will to live:(

After opening iTunes, you will find a button at the top left corner of the window, so press it. Then, you will see the Store menu or an option to authorize the PC. Read > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5610

I want so set up itunes on my laptop and make sure that I get all of my old music and any music shared from my sons' itunes accounts.  Do I have to set up itunes on my new laptop first and then use the same logins?  Really concerned about losing any music, etc.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have failed to move contacts and calendar items across you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

I need to replace my laptop Hard drive.  How do I get my iTunes off the old hard drive to an external so I can put it back on the new hard drive?

Type move itunes library into the google serach bar.
It has always been very basic to always maintain  abackup copy of your computer.  Do you not have a backup copy?

Can I move Photoshop to my new computer?

Whereby, I think, it is only allowed to be used at your home address
    from clause 2.1.3
"  ..... The “Primary User”may install a second copy of the Software for his or her exclusive use on either a portable Computer
or a Computer located at his or her home, provided that the Software on the portable or home Computer is not used at the same
time as the Software on the primary Computer."
Maybe a bit difficult to check, should you be on vacation taking along your laptop and like to edit your photos there,
or have a 2nd home abroad. Assume a 2nd house/home may also be considered as a 'home' under the above clause.
    Ah well ...

Unfortunately, adobe doesn't have photoshop elements 6 available for download, as far as i know, so your best bet is to either get an usb dvd drive or use an computer with a dvd drive and copy the contents of the pse 6 dvd to somethiing like
a flash drive and then copy the contents from that drive to your new computer.
Do you still have your older mac and it has a dvd drive?
You can share files between the two using airdrop or an ethernet cable.

how do i move my itunes to a new laptop if i don't have the old laptop?

Use the backup of the data from the laptop to move everything.
Why would you dispose of the existing computer before moving all the user data to the new computer?

  • How do I move pages in the thumnb nail view. This was available in previous versions. Can't do it in the new version.

How do I move pages in the thumnb nail view. This was available in previous versions. Can't do it in the new version.

Pages v5+ is Apple's version of, “Who moved my cheese?”
This is a brand new 64-bit rewrite redesign of the prior version. It isn't that they malevolently removed 100+ features that were user productivity habits — it is due to the fact that they haven't had time to restore 8 years of Pages evolution back into the application. The end result is the same. A largely useless product.
It is anyone's guess what schedule priority and functionality Apple will follow with future application updates. For starters, they should set the version back to 1.0, if for no other reason, than to create an even greater cosmos between Apple Marketing and fact.
There is no point going further. Peter has shared clarity. Apple is lost in its own funhouse of mirrors regarding desktop applications.

Not sure if this applies to your region, but in Australia the SIM password is often written on the "credit card" sized plastic card that the SIM was provided to you with the phone by the telco. Do you still have this? It could be in the iPhone box?

  • New laptop - can't get I-tunes to recognise tune files on hard drive?

Hello. My old sony vaio crashed. I had previously backed up all the music files from I-Tunes onto ext hard drive. Now I have new laptop, loaded I-Tunes and copied all the tunes back from the ext hard drive onto the new laptop. Trouble is I-Tunes won't see 'em, keeps saying something about my library being registered on another machine (guess it's my defunct one?). So is there a way I can get I-Tunes on the new laptop to see the music files I've dragged back from the ext hard drive. I did not back up any other files, system type things - just the tunes. Hope that makes sense and look forward to replies. Cheers - Snoopdougydoug

  • How can I move CC to a new PC, from one I am returning to our asset team?

I have CC installed on two PCs. So how can I move CC to a new PC, from one I am returning to our asset team?
    Howard

You only need to sign out of it on the machine you wish to not use it on anymore.  After that, if you choose to you can uninstall it, but it is not necessary in terms of the software... maybe your asset team has issue with it remaining though.
To get it on the new machine just install the same way you did for any others... install the Cloud manager, sign in, install the applications.
