I purchased a 7510 e photosmart printer this past August

can anyone help me as I am ready to scream with the service I am recieving with my new 7510 e photosmart printer, the first one I purchased from Staples in August on the 24th of this year but I had problems with it not recognising the photo tray, I called HP after a week of trying to get it to work but they blew me off so I tried to fix it myself for another 10 day's without any luck, by this time the 14 day return policy had run out at the store so I called HP again and this time they did try to help but could not get it to work so they sent out a refurbished one.
At first it worked great but now I cannot efax, I did reregister the second printer and got a new printer e.mail address. Cloud services pass me onto HP and HP passes me back to cloud services.
It prints, scans and prints off great pictures but I cannot fax with it, I only use the free  efax service as I only need to fax once or twice a year and this was one of the reasons I bought this printer, but everyone keeps passing the buck on this issue.
To complicate matters I am not alway's at the address where the printer in question is, right now I am at my second home using a photosmart plus B209a-m printer that I purchased in 2010 so I can only phone them when I am in my other home where the printer is. I use windows 7 home edition , IE 9 and Norton Internet Security 2013, but that is not blocking me as I disabled it just to test it out, the printer is wireless but my desktop is not.
If anyone can help with this I would appreciate it as I am sick of HP and cloud services passing the buck.

I would like to assist but I need some more information.  Can you log into your eFax account? If not do you get an error message trying to log in?

    Thanks for the post.  Depending upon the printer model, print drivers may be available from ASU.  If not, then go to hp.com and download Mt. Lion drivers to your iMac.  After you complete the hardware setup of the printer, if connecting wireless, then connect the printer to your network and then complete the installation and add the printer.  Then you can go back and remove your old printer.  I hope this helps...Good Luck!

    I see that your HP Photosmart 7510 is not printing yellow, and I am happy to help you with this printing issue!
    For further assistance, I will need to know:
    If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
    If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
    If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
    If the power cable plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
    In the meantime, please go through this print quality guide. Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages, and let me know what happens.

  • HP Photosmart Printer-cannot get the apps to work with a USB hook up

    I purchased a HP Photosmart Printer C310 and hooked it up to a USB, not wireless. The apps on the printer will not work, says it has to be on wireless for those features to work. When I purchased it the guy said I could use those apps even if it was on a USB hook up? Any ideas of how to get the apps to work without the wireless?

    Make sure you have done this to reset the iPod

    and that you have restarted your computer since this problem occurred.  You should also try disconnecting all USB devices from your computer including hubs (except standard keyboard and mouse if normally used), and connecting the iPod by itself to a direct USB port.
    There are no iPod viruses. But data corruption on the iPod's storage is possible. 
    If doing the above does not help, you may want to do a Restore on the iPod, from the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes.  This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.  If data corruption or a software glitch is causing the problem, a Restore should fix it.

  • Free efax on 7520e photosmart printer

    cannot get my 7520e photosmart printer to connect wireless, purchased it last year but was told they were working on a fix, after the fix it would not work at all, again phoned and was told the download fix made things worse and they were working on a patch to download.
    Have not been back to my other home in almost a year so no idea if it is working or not, it would print ok but only via a USB cable.
    Have the apps and free Efax been taken away from that aswell as I have a 7510e photosmart printer here but cannot send faxes even though my eFax number and address shows on the front of my printer
    and in eprint settings.This one is connected wireless shared between a windows 7 64 bit desktop and a windows 8.1 64 bit desktop, both desktops are wired but to a wireless router.

    I would like to assist in any way I can in an attempt to get the 7520 connected to your Wireless. Did I read correctly and you are not with that printer at this time?
    Regarding the eFax and apps for the 7520, they are still active. However, the eFax is not free on the 7520, compatible with eFax and you will need to subscribe with eFax.
    If you are not with the printer, will  you be soon? Let me know the connection error, router brand, etc and I will see if I can help.

  • Photosmart printer -all-in-one 5520 and windows 8.1 - INSTALLATION ERROR

    I have a photosmart printer - model: all-in-one 5520; code number HPC57CC4  and my operating system is windows 8.1.
    I had problems with the scan function and so I decided to disinstal the printer (from the Control Panel) and I even cancelled  the HP folders.
    Then I tried to reinstal the printer with the original CD but I got the message: INSTALLATION ERROR - DRIVER PACKAGE INSTALL GIVES THE ERROR -536870329 FOR THE PACKAGE  C:\Program Files\HP\HP Photosmart 5520 series\DriverStore\Pipeline\hpvpl09.inf   (that's the translation from Italian)
    I have tried endless times to install with the online software from the HP assistance (hppsdr.exe, hppiw.exe, ps5520_1315-1.exe, hpscan and doctor) but I always get the above error message, the system recognizes my printer, but gives the error message few seconds after starting installing it.
    If i use the printer from other PCs it's ok, I've also tried both in the wireless modality and with the USB cable but the result is the same: no installation!

    Welcome to the HP Forums!
    I noticed that you are having trouble installing your HP Photosmart 5520 on Windows 8.1. I am happy to help you with this installation issue!
    Please try the following solutions:
    Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software. (In case any was partially installed).  
    Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
    Make sure no antivirus programs are running. Turn Windows Defender on or off.
    Make sure the firewall is disabled. Disabling the computer's firewall on a Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 computer.
    Re-install using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

  • How do I print a 4"x5" invitation on my HP Photosmart printer?

    I have an HP Photosmart printer and have changed the printer settings to the custom size of the paper but it still prints my doc in the middle of the 8" paper width. It should be printing on the right side of the printer where rnvelopes and smaller sheets of paper can be trayed for the printer.  I have tried to adjust every setting I know about in the printer settings.  What next? My computer runs Windows 7.

    I see by your post that you have only printed 300 pages and it is now it is showing you have less the 50 pages left.
    I would like to help you resolve this issue.
    Is this the original toner that shipped with the printer?
    You should get approximately 1500 pages according to the specifications for what ships in the box.
    The page count is based on page yield. Depending on what you were printing.
    Still I believe you should have gotten more then 350 pages, unless you were printing full page pictures in black and white.

  • Printing to Photosmart printer via express

    I am trying to print photos from iphoto to our photosmart printer via our airport express. Everything works fine up to the point where the photo paper starts loading into the printer. Half way thru loading a message comes up on the printer that the paper is too small and press OK to cancel. Any one have any suggestions to solve this. Thanks

    Before printing.
    File > Page Setup...
    Ensure that the settings are correct here before trying to print.
    If you change them in the print dialogue, as in
    File > Print
    then change the print and page settings, then iPhoto will use the original page settings and not the ones you've just entered.
    If this does not work then connect the printer direct to the mac to print photos.

  • HP photosmart printer stopped working after 10.4.9 update - Genericclass

    We have an old hp photosmart 1218 that has been printing from our iMac for the last 6 months. I wanted to update the drivers (first mistake) due to some color problems which I did right around the same time that the software updated to 10.4.9. Now it won't print and we get GenericClass: waiting for device. We have spent 3 days trying everything that we could find on the boards. It seems many folks have problems with HP drivers particularly during an OS update. Of course Apple won't support us since the printer is old, and HP says that it isn't supported. But it worked on 10.4.8!
    Here are the references to everything we've tried:
    1. Printer is setup via the Options/More Printers button so it does have a URI
    2. Tried killing the HP Communications process - interesting effect - the system would pick a random page, say it was completed and finish the job. http://software-robotics.com/graphic-design-prepress/viewtopic.php?t=727
    No printout, however.
    3. Tried opening the printer setup utility with Rosetta per spybrook's advice at: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=327725&start=15&tstart=0 Still get the genericclass error.
    4. Tried moving the printer to a PC and print through the network but that is another headache altogether so nevermind that!
    5. Deleted everything that said HP or photosmart and uninstalled numerous times.
    We are at wits end and since I did this on my husband's work computer, I am way in the dog house! Any further advice would be appreciated. Oh, and several glasses of wine have also be tried to no avail, though we didn't care nearly as much afterward!

    For the benefit of all those old HP printer users, I will list what I did that seemed to fix my problem. I wish it were more scientific to tell you exactly, but after 40 hours or so of messing with this, I was getting sloppy and losing hope. We actually went out looking at new printers today....
    But, tonight, from a fresh reboot, I left the HP drivers on the Mac (accidentally). I downloaded both SP Ghostscript 7.07.1 and the hpijs-foomatic package found at http://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/hpijs When I went to set up the printer, my Photosmart was in the list on the setup utility for the first time. I had great hope.... but then received the genericclass hang when printing again. sigh. I logged in and out, but still the same hang.
    But, I noticed that the HP drivers were still installed and thought that maybe there was a conflict between the two so I tried the HP unstaller but it hung. So I reinstalled the HP drivers, then noticed there was an update so I downloaded it and walked through the setup with the photosmart again. My 1218 printer was now on the More Printers list (without having to hold down Options Advanced sequence) so I selected it, tried a print run, and voila! It worked.
    I'm not sure which combination worked whether the update from HP, the generic linux drivers, or both, but I don't dare touch it now.

  • Not enough memory to print this document

    Hello all,
    I am trying to print tax forms, something I have done for years with no problem. I used a popular tax program to create a PDF file, copied this file to my G3/266 running Mac OS 9.1, and opened it using Acrobat Reader 4.0. Several pages show X's in boxes where the characters should be. I assume this is a font problem with Acrobat Reader 4.0, so I opened the file using Acrobat Reader 5.0, and all pages are rendered properly.
    Once I tried to print, I remembered why I have been using Acrobat Reader 4.0: I've never been able to print from version 5.0. When printing from version 5.0, it spools to disk for background printing, then gives a warning: "Not enough memory to print this document". I tried printing the first page of Acrobat Reader's help pages - same problem. Here's a list of what I've tried:
      Background printing on & off
      Acrobat Memory: 12,288 KB (Suggested), 24 MB, 128 MB
      Print Monitor: 16,384 KB, 128 MB
    Always the same error.
    My G3/266 has 768 MB of RAM
    The printer is a LaserWriter Select, which is why I use Mac OS 9.1 to print.
    Any ideas how to fix the font problem so I can print form Acrobat Reader 4.0 or how to make Acrobat Reader 5.0 print properly?

    In Mac OS 9, the minimum and preferred memory allocation limits may be set by the user. By selecting the application's icon and selecting "Get Info", a panel provides these fields. The application always shows a suggested memory size. Acrobat Reader 5.0 has a suggested memory size of 12,288 KB, I tried raising it to 24 MB, then again to 128 MB. My computer has 768 MB of RAM.
    I used TurboTax 2012 running under Mac OS 10.6.8 to create the PDF file by selecting the "Print Returns to Mail" button. It pulls up a system print window with the PDF button, from which I select the "Save as PDF..." option. On my Mac OS 10.6.8 system, the only printer listed in this window is the "Photosmart C4700 series [B6D0EB]", but this has always been the case, and is what I have always used to print.
    I have opened the PDF file, created as described, using Preview, and used "Save As..." to save a new copy, using the "Black & White" Quartz filter, since this version of TurboTax wants to use colored tax forms. This should give me a PDF that is entirely created by Mac OS 10.6.8. I have also opened that PDF file again, and done a "Save As...", using the "Create Generic PDFX-3 Document" Quartz filter. I get the same errors when I try to print either PDF file.
