why can i not watch a recent movie PURCHASE from Apple TV on my Macbook, same iTunes account logged onto both of them yet cannot find it on my Mac.
You need to go to the iTunes Store, and into purchased (under quick links) to download to your Mac

Hi vazandrew, thanks for your help, Ive just checked, both home sharings ie Apple TV and itunes on my laptop, and they were both on , but for the heck of it, I turned them off and back on again. I still have the same problem.
Im looking in purchased films, am I looking in the right place ?

You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

My apple id attached to my itunes account has expired and i have forgotten the password that was attached to it! I have created a new apple id but cannot transfer it to my itunes which all my apple products connect up to on my mac with all my pictures etc on!?! HELP!

They don't expire. As far as anyone knows Apple IDs live on forever - if you forgot its password use https://iforgot.apple.com. Good luck with the answers to whatever security questions it asks.

Right! That's the reason you do not create a new Apple ID.
As far as Apple is concerned a new Apple ID is a completely different user, with absolutely, positively no access to anything available to any other Apple ID.
Concentrate your efforts on resetting the password to your old Apple ID. It has not expired, and is the only way to use all your existing iTunes purchases, App Store purchases, computer authorizations... etc. Forget about the new Apple ID you just created. -

Help. Movie downloaded on ipad2 but cannot access. No icon. No nothing. Had okayed 2 movie downloads-could that be a problem? Can not access either. A few months ago had seen a movie with no problem?
My problem to as to how to access downloaded movies not solved.

What I am trying to do is very simple, and I am sure I have done it before.
I have an Apple TV (2nd Gen) connected to Wifi Network (Airport Extreme 802.11n) I want to stream content from the itunes library on my macbook pro over the wifi network to the Apple TV. This works no problem, home sharing is set up and I can see the itunes library under 'Computer' on the Apple TV interface. I can use the Apple Remote to scroll through and play content from my itunes. Works no problem.
Now I want to use the remote app on my ipad mini to control the apple tv. Using up to date app (Version 3.01) Again, everything looks like it should work. I have turned on Home Sharing on the remote app settings. It works fine and both my itunes library and Apple TV show up on the interface. I can touch the itunes icon and control the itunes on my computer and play music and video on my computer screen.
Now when I touch the apple tv icon I can't see my itunes library content to play on the apple tv. I see the below image. If I tap on the icon in the bottom left it takes me back to the screen in the first image. What is the strangest thing is that I can control the apple tv using the gestures interface! This isn't what I want though and I want to be able to see the itunes library on the screen of the ipad and play it on the apple tv. You can see in the video on this link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvEpgcE9KCs). This is what I am trying to do and I just don't understand why I don't get the screen seen at 1:25 in the video. Instead I get the screen seen in the below image. Any ideas? I know that the remote app is connecting to the apple TV because I can control it using gestures, just strange I can't see the content on the ipad like in the attached video clip, instead I see the screen in the image below. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!OK, Problem solved. Software on Apple TV was VERY outdated. It had been sitting in the box for over a year and needed an update. Problem solved!

in your source list, below "LIBRARY", do you have a "Movies" category showing up?
if not, try heading into your general preferences and putting a checkmark next to "Movies" in the "Show" area. there's a screenshot of that tab in this document:

Can someone give me some feedback on how to access the itunes store from my itunes music library using Windows 7 operating platform? Sometimes nothing happens. Other times rectangular boxes appear on top half of screen and words like "Today's Music" and song names appear but then computer locks. Other times the bar across the top acts like it is accessing the store but nothing opens.
How to get iTunes Store to Work with Windows 7
First, Remove all iTunes and supporting software – and all “remnants” using Revo Uninstaller. Ensure you set Revo Uninstaller on its “Advanced” setting. You should be able to download a Revo trial software version at no cost. Recommend one follow the directions posted at this website: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/23959/completely-remove-itunes-and-other-apple-so ftware-from-a-windows-computer/
The goal/intent of these directions/procedures is to ensure complete removal of all iTunes and its supporting software. Make sure you get all of it, or you will end up repeating this lengthy procedure.
Next, before reinstalling iTunes:
Start-> Programs -> Accessories -> (Right Click On Command Prompt) ->Run the Command Prompt as Administrator then type in:
netsh winsock reset, hit enter, restart PC.
After this procedure, then reload the latest version of iTunes Software and see if you can access the iTunes Store.
If the iTunes Store does not open or completely open after installation, then run this procedure:
Start-> Programs -> Accessories -> (Right Click On Command Prompt) ->Run the Command Prompt as Administrator then type in:
netsh winsock reset, hit enter, restart PC, open iTunes… then open iTunes Store (yes, this is a repeat of the command line you ran prior to installation).
After this procedure, you may find the iTunes Store’s “initial page” will open. However, you may not be able to access any music within the iTunes store… Ensure you are logged in with your name and password…
Once you know you are logged in with your name and password, then:
On the Start menu, point to All Programs > Accessories and then right-click Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator from the shortcut menu. If Windows needs your permission to continue, click Continue.
In the resulting window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Return on the keyboard.
You should see a message that the DNS Resolver Cache has been successfully flushed.
But wait, there’s more! Now you need to go to the “Edit Button” of iTunes and select “Parental”. Under “Parental”, check “Allow access to iTunes u” and then ensure iTunes Store is “unchecked”, then press “OK” to ensure this configuration “takes”. Then, stop and restart iTunes. You should now have a smooth running version of iTunes with full access to the iTunes store. If not, then please modify these directions for those requiring a solid solution. Thanks -
I purchased a movie on Apple TV(2) and can't seem to find it at all downloaded.
I purchased a movie on Apple TV an cannot find it anywhere in my library or even see where it is downloading.
Normally it appears as the leftmost icon/artwork in the strip of icons at the top of the menus when you're in Movies category (not Computers but main Movies category you use to Rent).
Normally a 'download' starts immediately but using AppleTV for other things can wipe the downloaded part as it has no permanent/significant storage.
If your rental is still valid the rental artwork should still show - if not check Settings and choose to check for downloads.
Rentals must be viewed within 30 days.
Once you start watching the rental expires in either 24 or 48 hours depending on where you live - US gets 24 hours 'view time'. Annoyingly you cannot extend a rental - if it's expired you have to pay again.
Once you've had your invoice e-mail you can go to iTunes account and login and Report a Problem for the purchase if you can't access it.

I purchased a movie on apple tv. I then went to my pc and clicked "check for available downloads", but the movie is not there. I don't have enough storage to put the movie on icloud, and i refuse to pay for more storage to move something that i already paid for. any suggestions?
It looks like the answer is to log out of iTunes and then back in. That allowed Rentals to show up in my Movies Library. I rebooted about three times which didn't work. I closed the application and restarted it many times which didn't work.
The solution was to log out of my username and then back in. That worked.
