With my old Windows 7 PC and Outlook 2010, my calendar would sync with my Iphone 5, but with the new Windows 8 PC and Outlook 2010, it does not, and I can't figure out how to snyc them. Easy solution for restoring lost calendar informaiton, thank goodness. On your iPhone, go to settings, then to iCloud. If your Calendar selection is turned off, turn it on. Your info should restore. If your Calendar selection is turned on, then turn it off. Choose to save calendars when asked. After it shuts the Calendar off, turn it back on. Your info should be restored.
Thank you to Apple support for walking me through this. Shame on you Apple for not just telling people about this easy fix rather than making us go through all of this pain and worry.

I have not contacted Adobe. I am using acrobat pro CC, and haven't noticed any problem with the software itself. The only problem I have had so far is when I try to download.

I had the same shock when purchasing 2 new Droids less than a month ago. The store rep emphatically told me that Bluetooth dialing worked but of course that was wrong. What is up with the Quicktime 7.2 upgrade, it DOES NOT WORK!

Quicktime 7.2 Internet Plug-In does not work with Safari? I am very up to date with all the upgrades to maintain security, and this most recent "upgrade" while may be plugging a security hole for the iPhone does not maintain past functionality. I have searched and done most if not all the suggested fixes (repairing permissions, removing Internet Plug-Ins, installing most up to date flash player, un checking Flash Media MIME setting, even forcing Safari to load w/ Rosetta) and am very disappointed with having to force Safari into Rosetta and shocked to hear the suggestion to abandon Apple altogether and use Firefox. I am using Safari to get away from Netscape and third party software to AVOID conflicts. Worse Firefox does in-fact work making me doubt its' security for internet banking.

Same here. I don't have in Intel Mac, so it's not a Rosetta issue. I've patiently followed every tip I've read in many discussions. Reinstalled Quicktime. Installed Flash 9 Upgrade. Changed Quicktime settings (unchecked enable flash, unchecked Flash Media under MIME settings). Trashed Quicktime preferences.

I get a Quicktime logo with a question mark. In Firefox (which I've also reinstalled) it quits unexpectedly when trying to open a movie trailer. In my own experiments, I've opened another admin account on my computer and when I log in there, everything works fine. You say "well just use that account then", that would mean me having to transfer all my files to the other account which I don't want to do unless someone has a really quick way to do so. Also, in checking the system preferences for Quicktime under both accounts, I don't see any difference. Both accounts are accessing the same software from the root level Applications folder, so why does it work in one account and not the other? Someone help, as I don't think I can read another 10 page discussion on this.

HT3131 In terms of cooling, is it OK to use demanding applications for extended periods with the internal display of my MacBook Air closed?

I'm using a Thunderbolt display when in the office and often run one or two Parallels VMs concurrently, which makes the fans spin a lot. I'm worried that the 13" 2011 MacBook Air isn't being cooled enough with the lid closed so I tend to open it up - am I just being paranoid?

The cooling of the MacBook Air is accomplished via an internal fan which draws in and exhausts air in the rear gap area below the hinge. This gap remains unimpeded whether the computer is open or closed. In fact, Apple has specifically designed the notebook to operate in a "normal" open screen configuration, as well as a closed (clamshell) mode. As long as you retain an adequate clearance and allowance for clean cool airflow at the rear of the Air, there is no recognized issue of whether the unit will adequately cool.
This does not preclude that the user can also "enhance" cooling with external conduction cooling devices designed to extract heat from the heat conductive aluminum case But in normal circumstances it is not required, nor even mentioned by Apple that it is necessary to do so. In fact, Apple even sells a stand for operating the MBA in a closed, vertical position for space savings. This does in face preclude use of a cooling pad, and still it is not a problem.
While there may be those who observe that the open case affords more surface area for direct case to atmosphere heat transfer, one must also recognize that this is probably more than offset by the fact that the device does not generate extra heat supporting a operting and lit display when closed.

If you call Apple with the serial number they can tell you the carrier it is locked to. You can also check the warranty status at: Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage and see if it is Activation Locked (a theft deterrent feature) at https://www.icloud.com/activationlock/.
However, if you don't trust the friend perhaps you shouldn't buy it. And reconsider if they really are a friend.

I am coding with vbscript.
I have a need to make certain that sendkeys commands are sent to the proper program.
I can use this to activate a window:
success = WshShell.appactivate("MyProgram")
if success then WshShell.sendkeys "(% ) N"
But in Windows XP and 7 the window does not come to front. The program is activated, BUT left blinking on the taskbar below. And the key N is sent to any program that is currently open on top, for example windows explorer, which now minimizes.
How can i make sure that the command "(%) N" is sent to MyProgram? I have not been able to find a solution for this dilemma.

The concensus here is 'No'. You cannot do what yo aretrying to do. The developer should be able to explain why. We have tried.
Window sprotect its programs well. It attempts to prevent rogue capture of teh mouse input while allowing for a certain amount of automation. SendKeys is rapdly coming into disuse due to changes to the way Windows forms are generated and managed.
If a developer wants to allow remote control then they will provide an automatin intreface that will allow you t ocommunicate with teh program.. Ideas like 'SendKeys' are a leftover from DOS basic and Windows 98 and earlier. Microsoft has made no attempt
to keep thi sworking in newer systems while it still supports most existing use of teh feature.
What you are trying to do is 'LEGACY'.
Perhaps if you reqord your question to ask how to accomplish some objective then we can point you at a solution. SendKeys is not that solution.

Itunes won't connect, status bar goes about half way and stops, then times out. I have tried all fixes posted, you name it, I have done it. Running Vista and current version of Itunes. Can connect to Internet with any other app. Using Firefox, their latest version if that matters.
I have seen this is an on going problem throughout the Itunes community. All I can say is 'Bad Form Apple, Bad form.'

One more odd thing. The itunes diagnostics believes my windows firewall is on which is it not (believe me I've checked/double checked etc) AND believes itunes is not enable in windows firewall which it is, if ever I turned WF on. How can itunes get this wrong? I mean, if itunes believes its being blocked, maybe that's why I'm being blocked...has anyone heard of this?

Somehow, i have 2 iPhoto libraries which I opened today. The one with the vast majority of my images does not allow me to export photos. What can I do to manage this situation?

What happens when you try to export from the library? Where are you trying to export to? Are both libraries located in the same Place? If not where are they located. If on an external HD how is that HD formatted?

That you are getting the BONG is a good sign, it's unlikely to be hardware if you are able to hear that.
Start by running SW update. It's not that there is a specific fix, but when updating it may rewrite some system files which may get this going again purely as a side affect. Worth a go, and should not harm the system.
Try reset the PRAM - Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
Hopefully one of these quick fixes works, otherwise we'll need to try isolate the issue next - so if still having a problem, I'd try create a new user and login as that user to see if the issue persists (which will tell us if it's system wide or user specific)

I have created a phone mobile version of a site. I was hoping it would enlarge with the spreading fingers gesture, but it does not.

I made the text in a phone version in a larger font size than the desktop version. But some may need to enlarge it further. I was hoping that would be possible, as it is when you view a desktop version on the phone. Is this not a capability in Muse?
