I purchased adobe design standard and it wont download and open. help?

whenever I go to open the downloaded program it gives me an error message. I think it has something to do with the fact that my computer is a mac and the program is for windows. what do I need to do to fix the problem?

download the mac installation program. if this is pre-cc, you'll need a mac serial number to activate.

Which version of Design Standard are you asking about? I don't think any Creative Suite packages existed in 1993. I think the first CS came out in 2003.

Ive tried doing the report a problem through itunes but it did not help. it still wont download. It does show up on my itunes library from my computer but not on my phone and i cant play it...someone please help me.

I'd like to purchase Adobe Design Standard. But I have a big problem understanding the system you are working with. I'm a student from Romania in the 1st year of Political Sciency University and I'd like to get and Adobe Design Standard for Student License. How do I'm going to get it? Because I've read all the instructions and didn't understand a thing. Can anyone help me? I've just switch with an iMac and I'd like to buy a CS6 license for student. This means I can use in commercial ways before and after the study years ends right? Also the license comes with the CD/DVD for install?
Also I'm running on Mac OS X 10.7.4 (just updated yesterday). Is the pack going to work on this version?

It is not clear to me what your issue is with not being able to sign in to your Adobe account to find the serial number. You should still be able to sign in and find your serial number if you registered the software.
If your first PC is a Windows machine you might be able to extract the serial number from it using the Belarc Advisor

At the top of the box it should say Adobe Acrobat Pro DC or Adobe Acrobat Standard DC.

How to switch licensed for "ADOBE DESIGN STANDARD" from iMac to Macbook Pro?

I am currently licensed for "ADOBE DESIGN STANDARD" on an iMac. I have a new MacBook Pro and want to use that instead of the iMac. Do i need to get a new license key? or ??
I know i can download an "eval" copy on the laptop, but how do i switch license keys? i'm not even sure i still have the (valid) license key for the iMac...can i request another??

As long as you are staying within the same general platform (PC vs Mac) you do not need to change licensing. You are allowed to have two activated installations with your license, so you should be able to install on the new machine without having to worry about the older one at all (unless you ever want to free up the second activation for yet another machine). As you mentioned, you can download the trial version and use the serial number from your purchase to activate it to full use.
If you registered your software with Adobe, the serial number should be available via your Adobe account online. If you didn't register it then you will at least understand why it pays to do so.

I am having trouble with my version of Adobe Design Standard; every time i try to launch an app it says Error: 5. It is a genuine copy of CS4, i have the serial number, but cant find the disks and when i type in the serial into Photoshop, it says the serial is invalid. I only have it on this machine (Apple PowerMac G5 quad) Please help!!!!

Did you purchase them from Adobe, originally, or from a third-party, perhaps for less than full market price? If the latter, it is possible that Adobe finally determined the serial-number was not legit and finally got around to blacklisting it or it could be just a glitch on their servers or the licensing mechanism on your computer.
Serial-number & activation issues are best handled by direct communications with Adobe, either chat or phone. This is a user-to-user forum so we cannot do anything if it is a problem on Adobe’s end, nor can we tell if the serial number has been blacklisted.
