I purchased and downloded Lion OS for my apple macbook pro but nothing has changed and no idea why.

I believe I did that too, in my about this mac it says my software is now Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 but no features have changed.

Make sure the Ring/Silent switch isn't showing a red bar or dot.
If that isn't it, try disconnecting the headphones and adjusting the the volume.
If the iPhone says headphones when you adjust the volume, there could be something in the headphone jack.
You can try disconnecting and reconnecting the headphones 5-6times or restoring the iPhone.

"No audio output device is installed" appears when I click on speaker on lower right of the screen. Nothing has changed on the computer. I have always had the speakers plugged into the right place, the speakers are plugged into the wall but I get no sound.

Can you list make and model number of pc and OS used? See if you can get to device manager and see if sound driver has been disabled . If it has there will be a red x or yellow exclamation point on driver. Right click on driver and enable.

When I setup my new MacBook Pro, something slipped by me and my computer was named First-Lasts-MacBook-Pro (using my real first and last name).
I changed the computer name in Preferences/Sharing to a new name and Preferences/Accounts to just be Mike. I can right click on my account name, choose advanced, and see that everything looks right.
However, If I do a scan of my network with my iPhone using the free version of IP Scanner, it lists my computer as First-Lasts-MacBook-Pro! And it lists the user as First-Last.
So even though another Mac just sees my new computer name, and my home folder is Mike, somewhere in the system the original setup with my full name is still stored. And it's available on a network scan. So my full name might show up at a coffee shop.
Can I fully change the name without doing a complete re-install of Lion and all my apps?

One thought... you said the iPhone displayed your computer's old name? I think that you must have used the iPhone with this computer before you changed the name. So no one else's iPhone should display your full name unless that iPhone had previously connected to your Mac. For example, I did this exact same change, and I use the Keynote Remote app to connect with my MacBook Pro. It would no longer link with my MacBook Pro under the old name, and I found that I had to unlink and then create a new link under the new name. So the answer to your question is, there is nothing you need to do on the Mac, but rather the phone, and no other phone will display your full name.

After you've installed Flash Player (you have to mount the disk image by double-clicking and the double-click the insatller package) restart your browser and go to youTube, for example, -> http://www.youtube.com/ - and see if the videos play.

Eww, thanks for your reply, as it makes good sense, and common sense is practical when you walk into an Apple store.
I guess all the reviews and great specs of the new MB pro's made me want one...
I should probably use my current setup till it is totally outdated or simply is beyond repair.

Simply, sharing video via email is not advisable.
Many email services have an attachment limit of 20mb and some a limit of 10mb. As emails are sent through an array of relays, the effective limit is the smallest file size allowed on any of the relays. That means that video is rarely suitable for emailing.
Then there's the whole issue of Codecs and not all machines will have the codecs to play all videos. Plus, folks with slower connections can find it very inconvenient to download large video files.
Finally, sharing video from iPhoto via email is not supported. All that gets you is the Movie thumbnail. If you feel you must share via email then you'll need to export the video first, and attach that. Use the File -> Export command and set the kind to Original.

Other than that your options include:
Upload it to a sharing site like YouTube or Vimeo and email a link - these will allow the recipient to view the material online. That will avoid the codec issues mentions, and the person can still download the video file if they wish.
Upload it to sharing services like Dropbox or YouSendIt and email a link. This will require that they download the material to their machines to view.

Assuming this is not the normal startup chime, one beep means no RAM...so something in the path to the RAM has failed.
Best option is the Apple store genius bar to have the techs test the system and see what is going wrong.

make sure that in your finder preferences you have it checked to show external drives on the desktop and in the sidebar of finder
you find these preferences by selecting the finder icon (blue square on the dock w/ smiley face on it) then click on the work "finder" at top left corner of computer screen then click on preferences then general and put check next to show these items on the desktop and put check next to external drives
now you should see it on the desktop if you still can't open the drive or access it, it may be in format the mac can't read or write to so that could be an issue.

Without know exactly what you did or what happened:
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

I wanted to know, do I need to "safely" disconnect these specific devices or is it ok to just pull them out? My reason why is that I had put in my USB blood glucose meter to charge on here and without thinking pulled it out––a message had popped up saying that I need to safely disconnect devices or they could become corrupted or something like that. I looked up information on how to disconnect a usb and they said that there would be an icon in Finder that I could drag to the trash and that would allow me to safely disconnect the device. I use a usb adapter so i can have my mouse and other things plugged in all the time - i can safely disconnect the mouse and keyboard anytime with out having to eject - i would eject things like devices with IOS and external hard drives.
