I paid for pages on my iPad, do I have to pay to download on my mac?

    Yes.
They are two separate programs written for two separate operating systems so you have to pay for each one.

I bought Pages on my Ipad, but I don't seem to be able to use this with my Mac.

Correct, they are different versions for different operating systems. You will need to purchase the Mac version separately.

You do have to pay, but you're not paying again. iWork apps for OS X are not the same as the iOS versions.

  • Can not open photos, even mine, or post messages on FB pages from IMac, IPad does not have the problem.

I may have caused the problem by trying to block ads. How do I undo the 'block' I push a slide bar on screen.

    Hello:
Certainly not here.  I suggest you clear the cache and delete any eBay cookies and then try to visit the site (don't use a previous bookmark).

  • Is there any way to install my paid applications to my brothers ipad or i have to paid again?

I bought some applications for my ipad2 and i just wonder that can my brother use the same applications or we should pay again ? If we can , please somebody tells me how can i do it?

If you live in the same household, you can use Home Share to share apps purchased under separate accounts...

  • Both my iPad and iPhone have stopped receiving e-mail from Comcast using the Mail app.

This is really frustrating.  I just spent an hour on the phone with a fairly good Comcast tech, and he couldn't solve the problem.  They said it might be because Mail goes through iCloud, and iCloud may be having trouble.
I have tried restarting both the iPad and iPhone, changing ports, deleting and re-setting up the comcast mail account, etc.  I am able to view my e-mail on my MacBook Pro using Outlook, and the Comcast website e-mail is also OK.
Any suggestions?  It would be good if I could talk to an Apple tech, but apparently that is not an option.

Thanks for the additional information.  No error messages.  No issues w/ POP3 e-mail being locked out....
I had not changed any settings before this problem occured.  Both Mail apps on the iPad and iPhone just crashed.  I believe in causality (I am a Physicist), so probably it wasn't anything on my iPad or iPhone.
It has become all too common for tech companies to blame anyone but themselves.  As a customer with little control or input, I find this infuriating.
Now, both my iPad and iPhone have started working again, after nearly 6 hours w/ out e-mail working.
    Maybe it was sunspots!
    Thanks again!

  • If you download music on iPad do have to pay again for iPod touch

If you download music on iPad do you have to pay again to load it on a iPod

Nope, because you sync your iPad with iTunes so it goes into the library, which you can then sync to your iPod.

  • How can I get the iBook app on my Mac to backup ePubs I created with Pages on my iPad? Only seems to want to work with purchased from the ibook store.

How can I get the iBook app on my Mac to backup ePubs I created with Pages on my iPad? Only seems to want to work with purchased books from the ibook store. The problem is, once I create a document in Pages and turn it into an ePub to be opened in iBooks, I delete the document in Pages, because I don't need two copies taking up space on my iPad. Before Maverick, iTunes would backup everything in my iBook app on my iPad. If something ever happened to my iPad, all of my created ePubs would be lost and I would be screwed. I suppose I could keep everything on Pages and go to iCloud and download my documents to my Mac, but that is a lot of steps. I may have to do that if there is no other way, but I am hoping someone will have the answer for me. Pretty disappointed in iBooks app for Mac at this point.

iBooks only syncs purchased books. Others must be synced in iTunes.

  • I transferred a pages file from ipad to mac (also pages) via email for editing. However received message that cannot save edited document to the mac because "trial period has expired for iwork"! I have purchased pages for both machines separately. Ideas?

I transferred a pages file from ipad to mac (also pages) via email for editing. It opened normally. However, after editing, received message that cannot save edited document to the mac because "trial period has expired for iwork"! I have purchased pages for both machines separately and presumed they would work without a hitch. Am I missing something?

It used to be that to update the trial to the licensed version with the box, you just inserted the DVD & ran the installer to convert the trial to licensed. This changed with Snow Leopard. You now need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his iDisk in For_iWork > iWork '09 > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

You should also be able to access your docs (even without the Pages app on your iMac) by logging into iCloud.com and using the Pages for iCloud beta app via your browser.
(By the way your iPad uses iOS and not OS X)

  • I purchased pages on my air, how do I get pages on my iPad.

I purchased pages on my air, how do I get pages on my iPad? When I got the air, the persons told me that I could use iCloud to put pages on my iPad. I finally have an iPad and I need pages on it and I don't want to pay for it again if I can get it from the cloud, I just don't know how.

I think perhaps you misunderstood what the person was saying, or he said it wrong. You can use iCloud to sync content in Pages, but not the app itself. Mac notebooks run Mac OS X, while the iPad's operating system is iOS. You'll need to purchase the version for iOS for it to work on an iOS device.

  • I purchased "Pages" on my ipad and have it on my iphone. Can you tell me if I can get on my Dell laptop.

I purchased "Pages" on my ipad and downloaded it on my iphone and the data goes between both. I would like to have the ability to use "Pages" on my Dell laptop. Is is possible? Or do I need an Apple laptop? I appreciate any help you can provide, as I've been learning to use these things, through trial and error.
Not the best way, I know.
    Thanks

Indeed. You would actually have to buy an Apple computer (it doesn't have to be a laptop, depending on what you plan, a mac mini or an iMac would work of course). But, the version of Pages that you bought is for iOS only. You would have to buy the Mac OS X version of Pages for your Mac. But compared to the price of the Apple computer itself, this might not be the major issue ;-)

  • Pages 2.0.2 doesn't open Pages documents from ipad

Pages 2.0.2 doesn't open Pages documents from ipad 2. Document succesfully transferred as Pages document to computer, but Pages 2.0,2 wouldn;t open it. Version too old?

Pages 2 is iWork '06, two versions behind what the iOS Pages creates. You need to use Pages '09 which you can purchase from the Mac App Store as a stand-alone application or a retail box of the iWork '09 suite.
