Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

When I open messages in my iPod touch the screen is black, I have no access to the keyboard and then after 10 secs, the screen bounces back to the home screen, why is this?

Try:

If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.

Try doing a hard reset:

It sounds like you have chosen a publishing template rather than a word processing template. There are two basic modes in MS Word: word processing and publishing layout. Word processing mode (and all word processing templates) have a continuous text box in the page for writing text. The publishing layout mode (and publishing templates) are documents that have text boxes placed for articles, titles, pictures, etc. Be sure to choose the word document template and you’ll get what you expect. Do not choose the word publishing document.

Why does iphoto stay in the background off screen when I open it and won't stay on screen?

Since yesterday every time I try to open iphoto it stays out of sight. I can bring nto view using mission control but I cannot work with it.

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)

For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

Is this how it is supposed to be? I don't understand this. Does anybody understand what is going on? I see the top line (menu line?), a tollbar on the left, and some other thing on the right side. If the PDF that you converted already has searchable text, please try disabling OCR as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (OCR) when converting PDF to Word or Excel. (If the PDF was created from a scanned document and doesn't already have searchable text, disabling OCR isn't a great option, as the text won't be searchable/editable in the converted Word doc.)

Roadrunner is POP email, and the feature you are looking for
is a function of IMAP email. Roadrunner has not announced
any plans to make IMAP available. If this is important to you,
get a gmail account (which can be setup as IMAP) and configure
your Roadrunner account to automatically forward emails to the
gmail account.
