I put dom storage on "false" and now I can't do a Google search. A few days ago I could search Google with dom on false. What changed?

I customized the Firefox using 'about:config' and all the other settings work well with Google search - for example geo_enabled which I set to false.
The one setting that has suddenly proved problematic is dom_storage. I used it in false mode successfully for months when searching on Google, now the setting has resulted in an inability to search on Google. The Google page with search bar comes up as usual when I open the browser, but with dom storage set to "false" I can't search anything - the Google search bar page just remains static.

Users who disable DOM storage in IE8 and IE9 are reporting the same problem on Google's web search forum. For that reason, the requirement to allow DOM storage sounds like a change in Google's code rather than a browser-specific issue.
One Firefox-specific issue is the cookie connection: Firefox appears to use cookie permissions to block DOM storage on a site-by-site basis. So if you block cookies for google.com, the DOM storage problem will kick in.

  • I've reinstalled my MacBook Pro (OSX Lion) using a different apple ID, and now I can't install any iLife apps. In the app store it comes up with "Accept" and then tells me It can't accept from my user ID. How can I fix this or get iLife back?

Mostly explained in the title. My dad gave me his MacBook, and I went ahead and wiped all of his stuff by using the recovery partition to wipe/reinstall OSX Lion. In the setup I used a new apple ID and now I can't get iLife apps. I'm relatively new to how apple works its purchases, so I'm not sure what's up. Is it that my computer has a unique ID set to the first apple ID used on it, and if so, how can I get this reset to my ID? I'm planning to get an iPhone 5 soon so I'd like to be able to use photo stream with iPhoto and try out Guitar Band.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    -Tom
PS: I couldn't find a correct catagory, so I hope this is close enough. If not please tell me where I should be posting this.

  • I took Lion off my Macbook Pro and put Snow Leopard back on and now I can't access Mail or iPhoto. How do I get Mail and iPhoto to work with the Snow Leopard I just put back on?

Hi. I was having slowness problems with my Macbook Pro and thought I would re-install Lion but put Snow Leopard back on by mistake. I bought the computer used with Lion on it and don't have access to the USB drive or a username/password to reinstall Lion. Now I can't access Mail or iPhoto since I put Snow Leopard on.
Is there a way to get my Mail and iPhoto working again with Snow Leopard or do I have to "re-upgrade" to Lion?
    Thanks!
    Steve

You can't. When you converted those libraries to Lion's format, you lost the ability to go backwards. Unless you saved a bootable backup./clone or Time Machine backup of your previous SL installation, you're up the proverbial creek w/o a paddle.

  • I Put I file inside itself and now I can't see it

Ok, so I had a folder full of about 2.5 TB of movies a 4TB external hard drive. I was just putting a few files into the folder when I realized i had selected the folder. My spinning wheel went off for about 2 minutes before i realized what i did and restarted finder thinking that would work. when I looked again, all the files i was moving as well as the folder were gone, but the space they took up was still on my hard drive. I tried to reavel hidden files, but to no avail. I tried to maunally search for some of the files, but no good. I downloaded Data rescue 3 and EaseUs Data Recovery. the first hasn't been set up yet and the later was taking a long time and I was hoping to have this issue resolved tonight. After this I'll be opening up Data Rescue 3 to see how that does in recovering the files

  • I have Firefox as my browser. A few days ago, I opened the browser with the Firefox icon and found that my browser is now "Bing". I cannot get rid of it. How do I get Firefox back?

I have had Firefox as my default browser. About one week ago, I tried to go on line and found that my browser was now "Bing". I tried to get Firefox back but could not. I would like to change back to Firefox but do not know how.

Go to control panel first, and uninstall browser protect, browser saver, saveshare or similar programs. Scan with anti-malware tools (like adwcleaner). Then go to your mozilla add-ons and uninstall everything coupon related (you might have to google each of your addons one by one).
After than go to about:config and [http://www.2-viruses.com/remove-qone8-virus replace everything that mentions qoone8].

  • HT3180 I just upgraded a new version of Apple tv  yesterday, Nov.  17, 2013, and now I can't go back to just watching my regular cable tv.  It was fine before yesterday.  What do I do??

Apple TV was working fine and I could easily switch back and forth to watch my regular cable tv.  Yesterday a box appeared on the screen asking me to upgrade Apple TV.  Since I did that I cannot switch out of 'HDMI'  back to    'TV'  and watch cable tv.  It says  'Channel not available  (no signal).
What happened and how do I fix it?

Thanks again for your help.  I ended up calling my local cable provider who simply told me to make sure the channel was on  03.  Then I could once again switch back and forth from Apple TV  to the cable channels.
I never had to use channel 03  before  when I changed the source and since then I haven't needed to make sure it was on channel 03.  It works just like before from any station.
Maybe it was just for the first time after I had upgraded.  Who knows??  It's fine now. Thanks again for your input.

  • My Mac Apple Pro laptop is getting old - anyway, when I turn it on now, the screen just lights up white - and nothing is happening.  A few days ago, I had a screen with a flashing question mark, but now just blank white. what to do/how to fix it?

My Mac pro notebook laptop - when i turn it on, it's just a lit up white screen - and nothing else is happening - it's just frozen. how do i fix it?

You may try the procedures in this support article.  I suspect a trip to the Apple genius bar will be the best option.  You probably have some hardware issues, such as the display or the GPU and the technicians will be to make to make a definitive determination.

  • I downloaded Firefox 4 and now I can't find/load my Norton 360 toolbar. I have completed all helpful suggestions but no luck what do I need to do get my toolbar back? - PLEASE HELP!

Need to load Norton 360 toolbar with Firefox 4 as this did not load when I downloaded to Firefox version 4. Please help....

The "Add-Ons" screen should tell you whether the Norton 360 toolbar is disabled because of incompatibility with Firefox 4. If it is then you have two options:
    - you can install the "Add-On Compatibility Reporter" plugin. That will let you enable the Norton toolbar even though it is not supported, but then the toolbar might not work as expected (and it might introduce other problems as well).
    - or you can wait for Symantec to release a compatible version of the toolbar (recommended)

  • Updated to 7.1.1 and now I can't access my google calendars

Updated to 7.1.1 today and my google calendar items are no longer listed on my calendar.  Go to Settings and then
Mail, Contacts and Calendars and scroll down to the bottom for calendars and it no longer lists the option to view
additional calendars.  I deleted my gmail account in the settings and added it back but it still doesnt show up to
allow me to select my google calendars.  UGH

IOS 7.1 won't show my Google Calendar I have about 8 that should be showing. FIXED!!
    I'm on a 4S
    ------------------------------ This is what I tried ------------------------------
At the bottom of the calendar app click Calendars there should be a check to the left of your calendar. (my calendars weren't even listed here)
The google.com/calendar/iphoneselect solution. (mine was checked correctly)
Google 2-step verification (I even turned this on to see if it would help)
Deleting all accounts “Settings – Mail,Contacts,Calendars – Accounts” and starting over
    ------------------------------ My Solution ------------------------------
Since I deleted all my accounts already this is what worked I don't know why.
    Under “Settings – Mail,Contacts,Calendars – Accounts”
I added my google account “add account” “Google”... so on. Calendar was selected.
I added a second account “add account” “other” (at bottom) scroll down to “add CalDav Account” under calendars.
    Server= www.google.com
    user name = your email
    password = your password
    description = whatever
    Calendar was selected.
Then I went to “Settings – Mail,Contacts,Calendars – Accounts” and down towards the bottom I clicked “default calendar” and set it.
    I hope this helps

  • I installed instant firefox, now I can't go to google, get my email, nothing, what now?

I can't even type in www.google.com, or www.youtube.com and go to their sites. instant firefox seems to have blown out both firefox and internet explorer service to these sites. I tried to do searches with each using the pattern g (here i typed animationshop which was the search I wanted.).
I have reinstalled firefox. No help at all. Now what do I do

    This gets stranger still.
I'm at my mother's house tonight. I have internet access set up here too. It's also a wired/wireless netgear router, only here it's cable instead of dsl.
As soon as I booted up, I fired up Firefox and immediately accessed Google.com via the AirPort with no trouble.
Safari accessed Google just fine as well.
I then flushed the rules. I don't think it was the Apple firewall though because I turned it off and still couldn't access Google.
I didn't think there were any viruses or worms affecting Macs but wasn't totally sure. Thanks for the reassurance. That's one reason I bought the Macbook. I'm sick of buying AV licenses for several computers every year. Plus the AV software eats up lots of processor cycles.
But what about spyware? Should I be scanning for that? If so how?
But I won't be able to test it out at home for a couple of days probably. So I'll keep you posted.
I'm really appreciating all your input.

  • Put iPad pics on iCloud.  Now I can't access them.  Help!!!

  • I updated the operating system on my Mac book and now I can't sync my Mac calendar to my iPhone 5. How do I fix this? No where in iTunes now do I see to sync my calendars...

I updated the OS on my Macbook pro and now I can't sync the calender to my iphone...it no lonver gives me the option. What happened?

OS X Mavericks takes away the ability for calendar/contacts syncing through the computer. You'll have to use iCloud, or manually type them in.

  • Downloaded update for Firefox and now I can't get rid of AOL.

Downloaded update for Firefox and now I can't get rid of AOL. I have tried to delete anything associated with AOL and when restart Firefox.....there's AOL again. I even reinstalled Firefox.......there it was again.

Where does AOL show up -- home page?
I think the first thing to check is whether you have any AOL-related add-ons. These might override your regular settings. You can review and disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
Note that in most cases, you need to use the Restart Firefox link to actually deactivate the extension you chose to disable.
Next, to fix your home page, try the steps in this article: [[How to set the home page]].
If there is a problem with your search providers being switched from Google to AOL, try this extension:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/
    Any improvement?

Got it! Thanx.  What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed.
