I put my phone on charge now it won't switch on

I have put my phone on charge now it won't switch back on.

Leave it in plugged in for at least 15 minutes.
If it doesn't automatically come on, try a Reset... press the home and sleep/lock buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

I updated my phone yesterday and now it won't charge.  Is this normal?

Obviously not charging in not normal.
But iOS 7 checks to make sure that the lighting connector is certified by Apple. All Apple Lightning connectors and most Lightning connectors from recognized third parties are certified. But some third parties shortcut the certification process and these cables may not work with your phone.
If you are not using the original Lightning connector or a connector from Apple try that first.

Hello.I have purchased a black 32gb iPhone 4 just two days back.Yesterday while putting my phone on charge,I noticed a deep thin scratch on the antenna in a straight line starting from the charging point to the speakers. Is it a manufacturing fault? The scratch is quiet strange. It's a thin straight line, which I initially mistook to be a design. Can anyone tell me what it is?

All warranty issues including manufacturing defects, are determined and handled by the Apple Genius. If your iPhone has any problem, contact Apple and they will solve the issue.
"deep thin scratch on the antenna in a straight line starting from the charging point to the speakers"..... The only thing between the charging port and the speakers is a small screw on both sides of the port?

Try a different cable, if the issue continues take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

    Try this First...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...

  • My iPhone does not charge while I put it in charge. But when I remove charger it says that put your phone in charge. What should I do?

    Hi,
my problem with IPhone 5s is, when I put it in charge it doesn't charge and when I remove charger it says that plug in the charger. In this case what should I do?

    Hi Khushboo patel,
If you are having charging issues with your iPhone, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:
    Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge until your device turns on. This could take between 10 and 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue persists, please contact Apple Support.

  • My husband dropped his phone in water now it won't turn but when you switch the lock button the side it vibrates and we have been charging it and it's getting warm?? is there any way to retreive the information on without turning it on? Is their a memory

I really need help with this question. Can someone please shed some light on this subject.

Let it dry thoroughly in a very dry environment for a couple of days and then try to charge it for more than 15 minutes.  Then try to power it on again.  I did the same and after two days my phone turned on and although I could not make calls or use data, and the screen was erratic, I was able to connect to iTunes with my Mac and do a backup of both contacts and stuff like photos, settings, etc.   afterwards I was able to restore my new iPhone from the backup and I got almost everything back including notes.

  • Ask for Apple ID every time I put my phone on charge & to back up iCloud

Since I updated my iPhone 4S to the new iOS, every time I plug my phone in to charge it asks for my Apple ID to backup to iCloud.it never use to do it before the update??

It appears to be a bug in iOS 7.  Restarting the phone should temporarily fix it.

  • IOS 5 put my phone in recovery mode and won't turn back on or let me restore it, does anyone know how to fix this?

today i tried downloading ios 5 for my iphone 4. i updated all the software on my macbook pro. then when i was downloading ios 5 for my phone. it completely shut off. at first it was just showing me the screen to plug it into itunes. when i did, it would tell me to restore it because it was in recovery mode. however, it could not get approved by apple. i understand they have been bombarded today. however, now it is just showing a black screen with the loading circle on it. it wont let me turn it back on. and when i plug it into my computer it isnt recognizing it. i dont know what to do. is my phone dead forever? its been 4 hours..

If you have no other choice then put it in DFU mode. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3374810?

  • Phone fell and now Sim won't work

My phone fell and the screen cracked and it still worked fine all evening and the next day. Then when I went to a store to ask how much replacing the screen would cost, the lady (I should add I have an unlocked UK IPhone4S but am currently in Chengdu, China) was clicking around as if she was searching for something and then when I turned it off to give to repair, once I turned it on again the Sim wouldn't work, says not installed. Now once realizing they are trying to rip me off anyway, and now having this problem I compared prices at a few of the (very many fake?) apple stores they all would put another chinese sim that wouldn't work and try to convince me my phone needs much more repair than the screen.
Now going home and deciding what to do/ if it's worth fixing the screen if the whole thing is broken, I put my old UK sim in and it worked! So does my friends UK sim and her Chinese sim. So what on earth did this lady do to my phone settings to enable my Chinese Sim from working???
    Anybody have any ideas/thoughts?
Also as there are no authorized apple stores in China apart from Beijing and Shanghai, how risky is it to get my screen replaced by a random store?
    Thanks for any help!

I think I had it on the iCloud, I just changed computers and had part of my old computer backed up, where are the default iTunes info saved like the pictures and I know my contacts were backed up cuz I kept getting updated stuff that I wasn't sure about, but it was contacts where some belonged to my wife's contacts....but anyway, if the cloud backed up contacts, it should have grabbed pictures too? Like I asked before, if they were backed up to the computer, is there a default iTunes folder they are saved to? I had a crap load of pictures on there that I usually could really access if I was connected to wi-fi. I turned off my data stuff as I only have 4GB and between me and my 2 kids, we seemed to use up a lot of it. My son would play music from Pandora during work, and use up all our data til I limited him to only 3GB, my daughter and I barely used 1GB. Anyway, thanks to everybody that is answering. I thought I might have done good finding the dang sim card, but pointless I guess.
Ralph - F.Y.I. I would be happy to back up the iPhone if I could turn it on LOL......I am pretty positive I did, but what about Text messages? ANY of those saved too or not? Sorry guys, I don't know a **** of a lot about cell phones, but I do know about memory cards, but not sim cards that act like memory cards or look like them anyway. What is the purpose of a sim card if I may ask a stupid question since they don't hold any data from my phone stuff. I just hope my stuff comes back on the new replacement phone once I get it up and running. Again, thanks to everybody for the edumucation.
