I bought a new Mac. I previously had my iPhone and iPad synched to my PC. I set up iTunes but my playlists did not come over from my PC. I can redo that without a problem...BUT...I just tried to synch my iPad with my Mac and I got the following message: The iPad "name" cannot be synched. You do not have the privilege to make changes. I deauthorized my PC and have authorized my Mac...it just won't synch. Help!!

in Itunes 10.7.3 I get a message: error occurred while converting file. You do not have the privilege to make changes. This just started and I can not import my cds. Any thoughts?
Do you have read& write permissions to your iTunes library?
See this thread: Re: "Error has occurred... You do not have the privilege to make changes." -

Why does an error message say, you do not have the privilege to maje changes?
I tried to add a movie ti iTunes and a message came up saying I do not have the privilege to make changes. How do I get the privilege to make changes?
Solution:
Open Disk Utility.
Select your external hard disk and run a “verify” on it. After a few minutes (depending on the size of your drive), you should be good to go. You don’t need to run a “repair” on it... (at least I didn’t have to). See photo for reference.
This should fix the permissions issue, because on my Mac running Mountain Lion I was unable to edit the permissions in the get info dialog window even after "unlocking" the drive. -
When trying to download or sync podcasts, I get an error code "you do not have the privilege to make changes". Please help! I tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling, but that did not work. Also, I rebooted and that didn't work, either.
I tried to use an external hard drive from my windows computer that was formatted in NTFS Windows format. Mac Pro sees that hard drive as "read only". Itunes works on existing media on the hard drive to play music or movies, but when you try to purchase from itunes store and download you get the above message. You need to move your library to a library that is formatted in exFAT format (which can be used both by "windows" and mac computers.

"Error has occurred... You do not have the privilege to make changes."
When I try to import anything into my library, I get this error message-
"Error occurred while converting the file "song name here". You do not have the privilege to make changes."
My i Tunes library is located in an external hard drive, but this has caused no problems before, nothing has changed in my system.
Any ideas?Found someone else replying to a similar problem and this is what they said...Not sure if this will help but I am trying!
(Thanks to JollyGiant)
Check if you have read & write permissions on your iTunes folder.
in finder, right-click on it and get info. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. next, click on the little gear-shaped icon and apply to enclosed items like so
http://www.renewedvision.com/ProPresenterHelp/pgs/images/faqpppermissions.jpg
you may also give everyone read & write access. if this doesn't help, try the same on your iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music folder).
