I receive only the message: welcome to mail

I can't use Mail: I receive only the Welcome message, I clic "Continue" and then everything disappears! Please help.

I've had intermitant problems with the iMap Yahoo server. I've mostly seen problems on the send side. Stalls out with large attachments. Fails to copy message to sent folder. Seems to be getting better over time.
Has Yahoo imap ever worked for you?
Did you check to make sure the port(s) are open in your firewall. For a test, turn off your mac os x firewall. Firewalls are less important if you router has firewall.
I wonder what imap server you are using?
I'm using Thunderbird on my Mac and Linux machines. Here are my settings.

Hmm, that's odd JeanEB. The error message referts to the connection to your email server not to cellular data or connection to wi-fi. Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars> Select your account and type in your password again. If this doesn't resolve it, delete/re-add the email account.

Go into the settings app.
Settings > Messages > Send and Receive from
Set each phone to send and receive only from the specific phone number assigned to the phone and the specifics one number of each user.
If you each are using the same App,e ID I suggest one of you getting a different ID to keep all your stuff separate. I also recommend that each of you have different email addresses.

All sorted! dont suppose you know how to fix another problem I have??? for weeks now, since updating to ios5 I think, for some reason every time I have tried to log onto app store it says CANNOT CONNECT TO ITUNES STORE. It's nothing to do with my computer, and I've been to the Geniius bar but they couldnt help and nothing I seem to do lets me update my Apps and even worse, I cant even buy any more. Any suggestions?

Thanks. I had tried that, but was still having problems. Then I realized that I was using three addresses on both devices. Once I changed it to only one email on one iPad and a different email on the other, it worked great. Your message encouraged me to dig deeper and think differently. It worked. Thanks again!

Overnight both my hotmail accounts on my Iphone 4s, through Mail, have stopped working and I cannot access my email. Every time I try I get the message "Cannot get Mail. Connection to the Server Failed"
I have rebooted my phone, deleted and readded the accoutns and even reset my network settings to factory seeting but nothing works. A few hours ago it randomly started working again but has since stopped.
Please Help!!!

Contact Microsoft to see if Hotmail is having any issues.

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

Respected sir, i have bought a lenovo a6000 plus and i want to know how to lock only the message on it, when its locking message, contacts, call log & dialer, altogether?

There is no way to lock access to individual apps on the phone.

This is how I fixed it on my new iPhone 5S. Using the standard yahoo setting on my phone.
You will have to access "managing your app passwords" on your account profile for yahoo. Generate password for your app. For example: "My iPhone 5S'
Go to your Iphone and set up your yahoo mail account on your phone the normal way and you have to use the generated password. instead of the yahoo account password.

I want voice over to read recieved sms and emails. the thing is I want it done automaticly (wich works) but I dont want it to read any info like headlines, sender, wich app the notice is from etc, I want it to read ONLY the message. is this possible? the purpose is an art installation.

WIFi needs to enabled and you need to be connected to a network. Alternatively, you need Cellular Data to be "on". (Settings>General>Network). But it propably is a problem with your router (at least, it often is with me), provided you are using your private router. Try schutting it off and turning it on again. This usually sorts problems like this out.
