Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

I too have the same problem, and I see that nobody has found a working fix yet. How dissapointing. I would have thought that Apple would have tried to fix this by now. Who knows how many others are in the same boat?
I am unable to sync my iPad at all. This means that I can't make a backup and so can't clean and restore it. I can't add any music. I can't get my photos off the iPad either. And so on! My brand new iPad is incapable of doing anything usefull! Don't fret Apple, I WILL tell all my friends what my opinion of your devices are.
In my opinion this is a CRITICAL FAILURE FROM APPLE!
I believe that it's undeniable that this is a stupid uniformative error message that leads me nowhere. Of course the connection went away. BUT WHY? HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM IF YOUR ERROR MESSAGE DOESN'T GIVE ME ANY USEFULL INFORMATION????
AND WHY CAN'T I CAUSE IT TO SKIP OVER THE BACKUP STEP SO AT LEAST THE DEVICE HAS SOME FUNCTIONALITY?
There are no published fixes that work. The only thing close, was a recommendation to reset the iPad and try again. This didn't do anything but waste more of my time.
Hopefully, my Rant will cause someone to take a stab at coming up with a resolution. I JUST NEED TO KNOW HOW TO GET MY IPAD WORKING AGAIN.
Is that too much to ask?

I'm not sure if my iTunes won't open because my apple software might have been deleted from my computer during a clean out. How do I reestablish my apple software without losing all my iTunes music? Apple's error message is telling me that I have to uninstall iTunes and then re install it, but I'm pretty sure I'll lose everything if I do this. Suggestions?????

If you reinstall iTunes using this article, your songs will not be deleted. The Media in iTunes is stored in the iTunes folder, which is normally found in your Music folder and is not attached, or part of the iTunes application.
It will be either one of these 2 articles depending on the OS version you have installed:

I am not doubting what you have said, but isn't that kind of crazy? I mean, a huge chunk of the internet uses flash. Why is it that Apple will not fix this situation? I have and still use an eMac with OS X version 10.5.8 and it handles flash just fine. My eMac was not capable of running 10.6. This is the first time I have not been able to upgrade to the newest version of OS X. I have read where 10.7 Lion will be coming out sometime this summer and I plan on purchasing a new Mac when that happens. Either a new Mac Book or an iMac. Folks are saying that Lion is a merging of OS X and the iOS. Will lion support flash? I do apologize if I am asking questions that you cannot answer. im getting this message when i try to open my itunes "the itune library. itl file it's locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file" it was was working fine but all of a sudden it this issue just happen, i have windows 7.

I had the same problem as mentioned above. 2 Users, sharing the same iTunes account. Found following solution:
Check sharing and permission for the shared iTunes folder. In my case under HD->Users->Shared->iTunes
Also check all permissions of the underlying folders and especially *iTunes Library Database file*. In my case directly in the iTunes directory
For whatever reason, that file had no sharing. I added my wife's user name with Read /Write permission and it works again.
I guess a bug in the update. It worked fine for a long time before the update.
