I received a complimentary upgrade to CS6 online. I want to reinstall. How?

I received a complimentary upgrade online to CS6. When I downloaded and installed, I had a trial version of a PDF maker on my computer, which worked in the print dialog. I have since uninstalled it, and I can't make a PDF with proX from the Print dialog box when I'm in Indesign. I can export one though. Would it do any good to reinstall PDF and Indesign?

Yeah, consider reinstalling. Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and Acrobat Cleaner Tool and start with a clean slate.

  • Complimentary upgrade from CS5.5 to CS6

Last year I purchased CS5.5 with (as you can see below) the complimentary upgrade to CS6. Due to circumstances at the time I was unable to download the upgrade at the time. I would now like to make use of the complimentary upgrade but it no longer offers me the free upgrade. Can this still be accessed as this was the whole reason I bought 5.5 at the time?

There is nothing to see below so there's no way of knowing how your free upgrade was supposed to work.  Is it possible that there was a time limit on making the upgrade, in which case you probably forfeited it?  There should be terms and conditions provided somewhere.
If you want to see if you can still download and activate the upgrade, then it is available as a trial thru the following options....
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html
You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Where's The CS6 Complimentary Upgrade for The Student and Teacher Editions?

I bought the student and teacher edition of CS5.5 Design Premium a couple of weeks ago and got the email telling me how to get my complimentary upgrade to cs6 a few days ago. When I went on to adobe.com to look up the pricing for the student and teacher editions of the cs6 programs, there is no upgrade option (the only price shown says "Full from 449.00"). When I looked up pricing for the non-student and teacher editions, the upgrade option is there.
Are the upgrades for Student and Teacher Editions not available yet? Is there anybody else who bought the Student and Teacher Editions having this issue, or is it just me?

I talked with someone from Adobe earlier and they told me that I cant upgrade to another student and teacher edition but I can upgrade to a retail version still at no cost. They also sent me a link to a page telling me more about how to claim the upgrade, and the page mentions a "coupon code" that I have to enter during checkout.
This was the email I got:

The email didnt include a coupon code, and I followed the steps but the price remains at the regular upgrade price. I read on the "how to claim" page the associate showed me that I would be getting a code no later than May 31st. Do you think this email was maybe informing me that I am eligible for an upgrade and that they would send me a coupon code at a later date?

Yes, you need to purchase CS6 as an upgrade version (upgrades are not the same thing as updates).

  • Adobe CS6 Complimentary Upgrades

As someone who upgraded to Production Premium CS5.5 during the "complimentary upgrade" time frame, I assume at some point, that I will get a email saying how to get a serial number for CS6. Is there any danger in downloading the CS6 trial version beforehand or will I run into installation issues when the full version becomes available?

I posted the actual Adobe page at the (current) bottom of that discussion http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-faq-direct-purchases.html so you may read to see what Adobe has to say

  • Why should I pay for upgrade to CS6 twice?

    Dear Adobe,
I upgraded from photoshop CS3 to Photoshop CS5 last November as you said we will be not able to upgrade from CS3 to CS6 directly anymore. And now, you changed your mind and users are still able to upgrade from older versions. If I would wait couple of months like others I would pay only once. Please, would you try to explain your business strategy? How should we trust you are not going to change your mind and rules every month?
    Thank you for your explanation.
    Kind regards,
    Filip Zamorsky

And...Add my name to the list. I began another thread but I was told about this one. It's the same story as you all, I'm just not going to be ignored by customer service. Adobe caused the problem, Adobe should fix it.
Has anybody found a magic way to get customer service help? I have been waiting since last Tuesday for my problem to be resolved and I've been getting absolutely no understanding or willingness to take ownership of my problem.  I have chatted online with 8 different people. Each time making painstaking attemts to explain the situation as being different than the "free upgrade" window that is posted on adobe.com.
    Here is the situation.
Adobe said that we MUST upgrade to CS5 in order to upgrade to CS6.
In February, I upgraded from CS4 to CS5 based on item 1.
I went online last week to upgrade to CS6 from CS5 when I saw that I didn't have to spend the money to upgrade from CS4 to CS5 afterall.
Based on that, I feel I should be able to upgrade to CS6 without having to pay an addition $199.00.
Adobe said I had to upgrade so I did. That cost me $199.00 three months ago.
Now Adobe wants me to spend another $199.00 to get CS6.
I will not do that. I wouldn't have spent the first $199.00 if Adobe hadn't said it was necessary. It wasn't necessary afterall so I shouldn't be penalized for believing Adobe.
This is like the guy who's told he has a week to live so he gives away all of his earthly belongings. Then the doctor tells him he didn't mean it.
Now, On Wednesday, I got my request elevated to "concern group". They will contact me within 72 hours. That must be 72 business hours because I have not been concated.
So, Monday, I had to go through the entire scenerio for the umteenth time and again was assured the "concern group" would contact me withing 24 hours. I didn't believe the rep, based on my previous lack of contact and asked how I can contact the "concern group" myself so I don't have to go through this entire process again. The "concern group" is offline, no way to contact them but "I ASSURE YOU" you will hear from them withing 24 hours. Well, 48 hours later, I'm totally in a very hateful mood. I opened another chat session and rather than submitting that person on the other end to my venom, I just pasted my chat from Monday and said goodbye. Of couse, it's not going to do any good either.
I saw a message board online yesterday, and today I can't find it, where people in my same situation received their upgrade to CS6 with no addition cost.
I know it's being done but Customer service is so...aggravating that I believe it's a way to make people just give up and go away. Not this time.

  • I was penalized with overage charge for upgrading my plan online

I just switched from AT&T in Oct and signed up with the 700 min Family plan. In Nov, I realized I was going to go over the limit if I don't upgrade my plan. So I went online and upgraded my plan to 1400 min Family plan. When I looked at my current bill yesterday, I was surprised to see there was a $102 overage charge on my bill. I talked to a representative yesterday and asked her to explain about the overage charge. She said because I upgraded the plan online (on demand), my 498 used min were prorated which resulted in 227 min overage.
I said the reason for my upgrading the plan was to avoid overage. I did not exceed the 700 min in my old plan and I was not aware I am only allowed 25 min a day if I change my plan in the middle of the billing cycle. I can understand the proration of my monthly access charge (from $70 to $90 per month) but I don't understand the proration of used min. I pay for 700 min per month not 25 min a day. She offered me a 25% discount of the overage charge which I did not accept.
I called VZW this morning and talked to a different representative. I asked her if I would have upgraded my plan by talking to a representative instead of doing it myself online, will I incur the overage charge. She said the representative would have backdated the change which would avoid the overage charge. I asked her was it fair that because I tried to save VZW resources of not utilizing the time of a customer representative and going online to upgrade the plan myself, I incurred a penalty in the form of overage charge. She couldn't answer my question.
I asked her if she could remove the $102 overage charge. She said she couldn't but offered to make another adjustment which still resulted in $47.50 overage charge. I thanked her for doing more than the CS the day before and unwillingly accept the adjustment. I told her I am still not satisfied with the settlement and how VZW penalizes customers for trying to make it easy for them by upgrading online directly.
Lesson learned: Don't upgrade or change anything online without talking to a customer representative. I am looking for a new wireless carrier as soon as I can.

You want the amount you are charged to be pro-rated, but not the amount of minutes you are able to use? Say you start the month with the 700 minute plan and change half way thru to the 1400 minute plan. You want to only pay half of the cost of the 700 minute plan for the 1st half of the month and still use ALL of the minutes? You then want to pay half of the cost of the 1400 minute plan for the  2nd half of the month? After all, you are only on the 1400 minute plan for half of the month. I suppose you should also receive all of the 1400 minutes for the 2nd half of the month? That comes out to 2100 minutes for the price of half of the 700 minute plan + half of the price of the 1400 minute plan. Quite a deal you want there!

She couldn't answer my question. When you do this online, you are able to choose to have the 1400 minute plan take effect at the BEGINNING of the CURRENT billing cycle, which would have prevented you from receiving the overage charge. It doesn't matter whether you do it online or with a representative over the phone/instore, you could have avoided the overage charge by starting the new plan at the BEGINNING of the CURRENT billing cycle(backdating).
They don't penalize you for doing this online, as I have pointed out that you have the same choices whether it is online or via a CS rep. They will penalize you, though, if you make a choice which will result in overages.
Lesson learned: Don't upgrade or change anything online without talking to a customer representative. I am looking for a new wireless carrier as soon as I can.
Next time, if you are increasing your minute plan, just make sure that you have it backdated to avoid any overages. You can still do it online, though.

  • Complimentary upgrade to Lightroom 5?

Hi, I bought Lightroom 4 toward the end of May 2013 (within the last 30 days) from an online retailer. Is there a complimentary upgrade scheme in place that will allow me to upgrade to Lightroom 5?
If so, what is the process to go get the upgrade?
    Thanks

  • Can I install my complementary upgrade to CS6 on a Mac?

Greetings all, this has been my first time buying Adobe products so please bear with me.
I bought CS5.5 Design Standard Student Edition for Windows, and I have yet to install my complementary upgrade to CS6.
Now, last week I received a Mac as a graduation present.
I was wondering if it would be possible to have my complementary copy of CS6 crossgraded to my Mac, while also keeping CS5.5 on my Windows machine?
I guess another way to ask the question would be: Does my upgrade to CS6 replace my CS5.5 licence, or do I own both CS5.5 and CS6?
Its my hope to have Design Standard on both my machines, without having to join the Cloud, even if they are not the same version.
    Thanks for your time!
    Hayes

Does my upgrade to CS6 replace my CS5.5 licence,
Exactly that. Upgrades are supposed to run on the same machines as the previous versions. You can't expand your empire by re-using the previous versions on different machines. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of discounted upgrade pricing, don't you think? If everyone did it, there would be no upgrades and we all would always pay full price. That aside, it won't work. That's what the activation takes care of. Adobe knows what you are doing, even more so after your required platform swap which will simply invalidate your Windows serials. Don't ever assume otehrwise. You agreed to all that when you accepted the EULA.

First thing's first: ignore Harm and the other PC bigots.
Now that that's over: what do you mean by the "process?"  Purchase the upgrade through Adobe's online store and download the DMG file from them.  Once you have it, install it, and when it asks for the license of your previous version, enter in the CS5.5 one from your Windows box.
Is that what you were looking for?  Or something else?

I purchased CS5 in April of this year... At purchase I was informed I could get a free upgrade to CS6 ... How do I upgrade?

That sounds like an online store.  If so, have you tried logging on to your account, and checking 'My orders'?   I am not sure how the free upgrade would work, and I have a feeling that trying to phone Adobe is going to be a long and frustrating experience.
