The email looks legitimate and takes you to a site that you cannot tell from the actual apple site.
This is very scary as I almost fell for it. It is hard to distinguish from an apple site.
<Link Edited By Host>

These are very common. The giveaway is that they don't address you by name - genuine Apple emails will always do this - and the links (which you can safely check by hovering over them in Mail) will be to non-Apple domains. You were right to be suspicious of it.
If you would like to report it to Apple you can forward it as an email attachment to [email protected]

I can not access icloud, it asks me to verify my account, i go to manage my account and it is verified in my account

It is a problem if you can;t download/install apps.  If you are sure that the card data is correct and the card is valid I would contact the itunes store.  I would go here and select iTunes Store Account and Billing.

  • I used my daughter's itunes account to log into icloud but want to now put in my account information.  How do I change it without deleting her account?

I used my daughter's itunes id to log into icloud as I forgot my information.  Now I have established my account information and want to remove hers to add mine.  I am afraid to "delete account" as I fear it will delete her information.  How do I change the icloud account?

Go to iTunes menu, STORE and sign out.  Then you can sign in from there or create a new account which should match the account you have on your iPad and iPhone.

  • Desperately need BizSpark help, received no response from support email after several days

I emailed [email protected] on 02/25 and still have not received a response.  Where can I post questions?  Here is the original email:
Hello, I recently started working for a new company. My previous company was a BizSpark graduate. I loved the program, so thought I would apply for it again at my new company. I went through the signup process
using my existing MS account (redacted). At no point did it indicate I was doing anything other than filling out a new application. When I finished, it went to my old bizspark page, but all the company information was changed (except for the logo)! Not only
is that terrible, because now it appears as though my new company is a BizSpark graduate, but I still want to try to enroll my new company in the program!
    Please advise!
I have since edited everything except my company name because I cannot find a way to change it.

Scott, I dont deal directly with the BizSpark program, but I've reached out to a few people internally who I think do.  I'll let you know what I hear back, and maybe we can get your email replied to.
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Loaded Outlook mobile app and now I can't send emails through Mail ("Unable to verify account information" error message).  Can't use the Authenticator number, either.  Help!

I installed the Outlook mobile app on my iPhone using my Hotmail email address and the authenticator code.  It works, but I can no longer send emails from Mail.  I have not forgotten the password, so I don't know why I am unable to send messages from my mail email account (linked to Hotmail) in Mail.  Should I delete the Outlook mobile app?  Please help!  Thanks.

  • HT5312 Received an e-mail asking me to reset my account.

I accessed iTunes today but did not change any of my information.  I got an e-mail from Apple saying my name had been changed and I had to click on a link to reset my account.  I didn't do it and seem to be able to sign in fine online.  I also received a text from Apple saying I had won a competition I hadn't entered so I am a bit wary of this e-mail and wondering is it legit?

The text message is not from Apple and definitely a scam. Apple has no such contest and never has had. The email is almost also certainly a phish; do not respond to it, nor to any unsolicited messages asking for any sort of account information. I would expect that if you were to examine the raw source of the message, you'd find that the URL actually goes to some other site, not Apple's.
If you ever have need to reset any of your account information, manually type in the URL to the Apple ID management page:
    https://appleid.apple.com/
Then you can be confident that you're actually contacting Apple's systems.
    Regards.

The message probably was sent by mistake. Ignore it, unless you have problems with the iCloud email address

  • I received an email that asks me to verify my account because is about to expire in 72 hours. Is this legit? or fake?

Hi! I received this email today that says that my apple ID is about to expire and that I have to verify it before it expires so I clicked on the link that says "Verify now," and asks me for my credit card information and personal information just to verify my account. (and even the type of font the use is kind of strange.)

These folks are very "crafty" - clearly they use Apple images, fonts, etc. It is easy to do when the official Apple Style Guide is  publicly available to all ☞   https://help.apple.com/asg/mac/2013/ASG_2013.pdf
The Apple Legal Dept. is very interested and concerned about these folks.

  • I am unable to sign into icloud.  When asked for my date of birth I receive a message that my dob does match Apple's records.  I don't remember setting a different password for icloud.

Since I replaced my iPhone 4 with the 5s I have been unable to access icloud.  When asked for my password I receive the message that it is not valid.  wehn using the security questions the system does recognize my date of birth.

You can have the password reset sent to the email address associated with your ID, as explained in the second option here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5787.  If you don't have access to the email address, you'll have to contact Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Lost or forgotten Apple ID password, or by contacting the Apple account security team: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699.

I don't have any suggestions that will help you resolve this issue other than to try posting here where there should be more iCloud experts.
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/icloud/icloud_on_my_ios_device
Or contact Apple and ask for their help with this. Try here. I think Account and Setup would be the starting point.
