I received a new iBook G4 display but it does not fit in the board?
I ordered an iBook G4 display for an iBook G4 and set out to install it but the display has a 6-pin inverter cable while the logic board looks like it only receives a 4-pin cable.
Is there any way around this? Why do the displays have different pins?

I have all the parts to an iBook G4 and they're all stupidly incompatible. I have a G3 screen with a completely different connector. I ordered a A1055 logic board and got a 14" board (for a 12"). Because Apple gives boards the same part number (whether they are 12" or 14").
I have two G4 logic boards with 4 pin inverter cable ports and 2 displays with 6 pin inverter cable input.
You can put a 4 pin inverter cable into a 6-pin inverter port. I'm going to cut 2 pins off of the inverter connector with an exactoknife and see if it works because this is ridiculous. I have all these parts and cannot even make 1 working laptop.

If you connect yourMacBook using a MiniDVI/HDMI adapter you will need to use external speakers for audio since the pre-2010 MacBooks will only send video through the MiniDVI or MiniDisplay Port . The MiniDVI/HDMI doesn't carry audio and there's no audio plugs on the TV to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.
If your TV has a DVI input plug you can use a MiniDisplayPort/DVI adapter. Then a DVI cable to the DVI input plug on the TV. The TV will have RCA audio plugs for use with the DVI. Plus DVI gives a sharper image than HDMI. -

I am trying to transfer photos, music, etc from my Power Mac G5 to my new iMac. The Power Mac is too old for the migration assistant to help. I have an old Firewire but it does not fit the new iMac. Any suggestions? If a Firewire is the best option which one do I need? Thanks.
You need a Firewire 800 to 400 adapter or cable or a external USB 2/3 drive (self powered) it can default to the old USB the G5 uses 1 or 2.

If your MBair is a 2012 model, it has a Magsafe 2 power connection. The monitor probably has the old magsafe connection. If this is the case, you need this adapter.

I have no sound for games in my iPad. I have tried the reset but it does not work. The speakers work as I have sound for music and videos.

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430 It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. All of your email accounts will remain intact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages.

My iphone 4 does not register calls made to it. if i make a call from another phone, i can hear it ringing, but it does not register on the iphone. also, i do not get any messages when this happens. then after a day or two it decides to start working.
Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if better. If still problem clean charging port again with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

I have an apple ID which I use to sign into icloud for my iPad and iPhone.But when I use the same ID for setting up iCloud on my Macbook it says INCORRECT ID or password, try again. I tried changing my passwords several times but it does not work for the macbook.

I am trying to authorize my computer, I have followed the on screen instructions but it does not give me the option to authorize.
Please help!Always remember to 'de-authorize' you computer when selling or sending for service. If sending for repairs you might not get the same mother board or HD back and some how this counts as an authorized computer against your count.
