I received an e-book Jan. 3 which I read for a while, then when I returned last night to continue -?
I was told the PDF I entered was not found. The e-book in titled Healing the Earth, by John Sandford. Did I not do something when I received the book that cauased it to vanish? I already paid Elijah List for it, and would really like to
continue reading it.

It sounds like the file is no longer where you originally saved it. Try searching for the file name either via Start > Search (Windows Vista/7/8) or by using a Spotlight Search (Mac OS). If you did not delete the file, it's likely you've moved it from the last place it was opened, thus Acrobat throwing an error.

I have downloaded several books into ibooks. Started reading one and closed it when I was done reading for the day. Now I want to access other books and when I open ibooks it goes directly to that first book. It does not give me the shelf to choose what book I want to read - goes directly to the first book. What can I do? Help please.
There should be a Library button on the top left. If not ap the middle of the screen to get it to appear.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS. -

On the itunes store it says error 5002I had an issue where I had to wipe my mac as well. What you have to do to format the hard drive and reinstall is this:
Restart the computer while holding down the option key. Choose the recovery disc. Find the main hard disc and hit format. Then you can reinstall Lion via the internet, it takes a while though, my computer took 5 hours or so.
For your first question, if you got the family version of office, I believe you have 3 computers you can authorize it on. If you are not sure, look it up in the apple store.
For the second: Time machine would probably be your best option, but I would reccomend restoring from a backup before you were having problems, and restore that one (put new files you need on another external or a digital-online storeage site such as dropbox.) To restore a backup, restart your computer and hold command+R and select "Restore from Time Machine Backup" (for more information go here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427 )
I don't believe tere is anything else you need to do, but I am new to macs, so I may not be the best source, but this is what I have found/have had to do. -

Try using this tool to search for apps which are compatible with older iPhones:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
I did a search for GPS and founds lots of compatible apps. You might try typing GPS -tomtom to eliminate the tomtom apps.
WhatApp isn't compatible with the older devices, but enter Texting in the search box to find many texting apps which should work. -
I am using Aperture to make a photo book. I have about 400 photos in the project that I am selecting from. I want to use about 70 for the book. I am allowed to pick and choose photos until I fill 20 pages. Then when I select add page, I am allowed to select all the pictures in the project. I am not allowed to select. I think I hve to change a setting, bt what? Thanks for the help.

David, have you enabled the "Autoflow" options? There are settings behind the cogwheel, that will automatically place unused images onto new pages. If you only want to select a few images from a large project, disable these two options:
Or start your book froman album, that only contains a selection of your images, rather than from the whole project.

Hi I was so excited today to get my 100 page. Iphoto book. However on 3 of the map pages my maps have not printed. It's the first 3 in the book and the names of the countries are there just no pics of the maps. I checked my PDF and they where there. What can I do?

I just purchased a new 27" iMac. Which Compact Flash reader will work properly with SanDisk Extreme 16GB cards? Not sure of which port/company matches up w/computer.Thanks!
Well, you need to tailor the reader to the cards you are using: when I bought my Sandisk Extreme III SDHC cards, they actually came with a high speed reader - that was a good thing, because my old reader couldn't handle the speed of the new cards.
So, take a look at the cards you'll be using - there should be a small circle somewhere on the front with a number in it; the higher the number (mine are Class 6) the faster the speed, so you'll want a reader that can accommodate that.
And, as I said, I just use a USB reader - works great. -
I logged on to facebook and tried to play Zygna poker, I had a message that I required Adobe flashplayer 10.xx. I downloaded and installed the flash player. reboot and logged back on to facebook. Clicked on the poker icon, I received the same message. "I needed to download Flasher Player to play this game"

There are many reasons that scripts might be blocked on a site, including: you having installed the NoScript add-on (in that case, use the NoScript menu to allow the site to run its scripts) or security software set to filter out scripts. Not sure if either of these apply to you. -

I recently returned from an eight day trip during which I took over 100 photos. When I returned home yesterday, I turned on my computer and about half (randomly numbered) of my photos downloaded to Photo Stream. I have been waiting for about 36 hours now and the rest have not downloaded. What could be the problem?
As additional infromation, I tried turning OFF Photo Stream on the I Cloud Control Panel and then back ON to no avail. And all my previous pictures (taken on other trips) have downloaded completly with no problems.
FVP36Have you checked your Photos application for Photostream? Photos are saved for 30 days in photo stream and can be moved to camera roll.

This is going to sound really ridiculous but, what is an "interactive" PDF?
I received a PDF from an organization which stated it was furnishing an "interactive PDF" but on which I am not even able to highlight or make comments.Well turned out it is secured, but if you can't even highlight points, can you still refer to it as "interactive?"
The problem was that they furnished both a book and a PDF file which are identical and I am unable to understand the point. I would refer to the PDF as "flat" or "static" rather than "interactive." It seems redundant and I find the description misleading. It's also remarkably wasteful.
(Also, visualize the levels of efficiency between 1) scrolling through a PDF, highlighting certain points, and keyboarding comments vs 2) turning pages in a book, picking up a pen to highlight areas, and getting out the pen and paper to handwrite comments.)

That has been experienced befor with edge in lower case letters, but if you do have the data plan, maybe back up your information then wipe the phone and see if that helps, if not maybe one of the more knowledgable members has an idea for you.Good luck
