I received an email stating that my credit card information had been changed but I haven't changed anything.

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond. Do not divulge any personal or financial information. You can use the address below to forward the suspect email message to Apple.

  • How do I remove my credit card information from my ipad and iphone

How do I remove my credit card information from my ipad and ipone account?

Nice idea, but no.  You are no longer allowed to remove it, it will keep asking you for a valid account and won't let you save it with anything less.  So if your account has been hacked from iTunes (like mine has in the past, to the tune of several thousand dollars), and you don't want to keep a credit card on file, just add it in and delete it when you are done buying something, this is no longer an option.  Since I stupidly wanted to buy something and didn't know this had been changed, I now get to hope my account does not get hacked again.
I am so sick of Apple making everything so bloody difficult, I'm about this close to ditching my iphone and ipad.  They are fabulous when they work, but if you have software problems (my ipad is currently a very expensive book reader, since it won't do anything else with any reliability after going to iOS 6), there is no help available, and no fixes available.  Help online just sends you in endless circles, help on the phone is useless if you have not paid for a service contract.

    Hidden or otherwise, no charge...
I'm not sure that you can remove your credit card information once you have added it. I think you will just have to live with the fact that Apple has your credit card number. Of course, that could be quite useful on the day that you decide that you want an App that does need paying for.

  • I lost my Ipod touch yesterday. Can I disconnect my credit card information from my account and thereby eliminate that liability?

I lost my Ipod touch yesterday. Can I disconnect my credit card information from the account to avoid someone accessing my account and charging on it?

No, Apple cannot locate your iPod for you. If you didn't have Find My iPod set up before you lost the iPod, there's no way to trace it.
    Regards.

  • I had to change my credit card information on my ipod and it will not let my security code save on my device?

I had to change my credit card information on my ipod touch.  I put in the numbers for the card and for the security code, the card numbers saved but the security code numbers will not save?

Audiobooks (and ringtones) are currently a one-time only download from the store so you won't be able to re-download them, but you should be able to re-sync them back to your phone from your computer's iTunes or backup. If you don't have a backup (and they are still in the store) then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • TS1424 I believe the credit card online has been compromised and someone has purchased from iTunes without my permission. What can I do?

What can I do if my credit card has been compromised and someone has used it to buy from the itunes Store?

    Wpgjets wrote:
... What does iTunes do to track the ones who steal CC numbers and use them to make iTunes purchases?
What they do is up to them, but loss prevention may include suspending that Apple ID for purchases until such time the fraud is rectified. They may pursue the thief for chargebacks and fines from the issuing bank and take whatever other legal action they deem appropriate. In any event none of that involves you, presuming it's not your job to investigate criminal activity. As long as your payment method continues to be accepted by Apple, you don't have to do anything else.
Changing your Apple ID password once in a while is a good idea though, and if Apple wants to compel you do so you will find out when you attempt to log in here or make a purchase. Be wary of "phishing" and never click on any links in an email that may appear to be from Apple, as authentic as it may seem. This is a popular way of stealing Apple IDs and all that it entails.

  • How do I change credit card information for app store and itunes

I am unable to change credit card infor for my app store and itunes?

What happens when you try to change your card details ?
You should be able to change your payment details on your computer's iTunes by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on your iPhone then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and select 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

    Does that not work ?

  • I recently received an email stating that someone from Morocco had downloaded an app on a different computer. When I clicked on the link supposedly to change my ID and password. I noticed it asked for all of my info. Is this a scam?

    Dear Itunes customer,
Your Apple ID, was just used to download Flap Flap from the Mac App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.
This download was initiated from Morocco.
If you initiated this download, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not initiate the download yourself.
If you did not initiate this download, we recommend that you go to http://tinyurl.com/mrx4a2y , to change your password, then see Apple ID: Tips for protecting the security of your account for further assistance.
    Regards,
    Itunes

Yes, it's a phishing scam to get your account and payment details - if you still have the email then you could forward it to Apple : [email protected]
Did you fill any details in on the page ? If you entered your password then you should change it immediately e.g by logging into it by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your iPad, via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, or via http://appleid.apple.com

  • TS2446 I recieved an email telling me my apple account had been suspended and it contained a link to click on. I am very vary of such emails and want to know if its genuine, especially as I have just logged into my apple account with no problems.

I would like to know if anyone has recieved a similar email...if it is a scam. The email did not address me by name, just Dear Customer.

Would not touch that link for all the gold in Fort Knox.  The fact that you independently were able to log in to your account and verify it is fine tells you this is just a scam.
