If I delete my Exchange account, my contacts get removed as well.
My Exchange account is my default.
I've also installed the iCloud app on my Windows machine running W8 and Outlook 2013 where my Exchange account runs on.You would have to export your contacts from Exchange and import them into iCloud somehow. I have to admit I don't know of an easy way to do this but maybe one of the other volunteers here will know how to do it.

No. You can turn your 6G Nano in to be recycled at your local Apple Store for a 10% discount towards the purchase of a new one. Otherwise, your only other option would be to sell the iPod on Craigslist or eBay and use the proceeds from the sale towards the purchase of the new 7G nano.

I hav an apple ID account with balance of $25,00. I used .99 to buy gameapp for grandson. We also downloaded a freebie or two. The games show up under the apps purchased. However I can not get the games to start using my HP laptop with windows 8. Any suggestions on how to play games purchase thru the Apple App Store but played on android deices.? Tkx
You can only use apps from iTunes on iPhone devices.
If you want apps for Android devices then you'll need to download the app on the Google Play Store on your Android devices.
If you don't have the Google Play Store you could dowload if from Google.
Windows 8 also has there own App Store. -

I have an iPhone 5s (iOS 8.1) and an iPad 2 (iOS 8.1). My wife has an iPhone 5 (iOS 8.0.2). I have been trying to set up our icloud accounts so that it will be ready when we buy a mac in January.
When I set up my icloud, the little circular picture that I used on my iPhone 5s did not sync up with the one on my iPad. They are both under the same ID, but it would not automatically sync up. Additonally, I set up a icloud phot album between my wife and I for pictures of our little one. On my phone, when I go to "people" that are synced to that album, it shows my wife and myself, but they both have my picture. And when I do the same on my iPad, it shows a blank for me but my picture for my wife. Confused. Can someone help?

There are also many applications that will grab data from your phone and download it to your computer without using iTunes. That might be the easiest solution. I suggest you check out http://www.macroplant.com. I have not used their software but it tends to be well reviewed. -
I have just downloaded the latest version of Lion, and I have iCloud.
Photo sync is 1 way. You can purchase 3rd party software to extract the photos, but be warned, the photos stored on the phone are NOT full resolution. They are reduced in resolution and optimized for the screen on the phone.
Did you have a Time Machine backup? You can restore them from there.
The iPhone is NOT intended to be a backup device. -
After my last OS software upgrade, the calendar and contact list will not sync with each other. My ipad is correct but some contacts and calendar information disappeared from my iphone. How do I fix this?
I need to change my email adress too. i want it to be the same in icloud as my appleID is. When I set up icloud, it wouldn't allow me to use my appleid. Anyone?

I have fooled all the steps as directed but still cannot log in to iCloud on the iPad what am I doing /not doing right?

Reducing the size of your Camera Roll backup
If you take lots of photos and videos with your iOS device, you may notice your Camera Roll takes up most of your iCloud Storage backup. To check the size of the Camera Roll backup on your device:
On your Home Screen, tap Settings.
Tap iCloud.
Tap Storage & Backup.

In the Backup Options section, the backup size is displayed under Camera Roll.

i converted my videos to mp4 but itunes still refuses to let it work and shows a winow that says "....... (item) an not be copied to itunes because it can not work on your ipad" although mp4 files are supposed to work on my ipad. i tranfered all music and pictures to itunes but i can't transefer my videos. What should i do?
Since I am impatient and can't wait for 90 minutes for an answer, I have decided to lose everything on my iPod and try to remember all the songs I had on them. But if anyone can help me prevent this in the future, that woud be great!

Recent problems syncing between Macbook Pro and iPhone 5s
I have done as much troubleshooting as I know including completely deleting all music and then trying to sync it all back onto my phone. Now I have a bunch of songs with symbol beside them (a red box with a red circle around it) and now those songs won't play anymore and those used to play just fine!
does it charge when you connect it to the ac charger ?
does it charge if you connect it to another computer?
have you tried other cables to verify it's the cable and not connector in iphone? -

I recently added my old mac hard drive to a new macbook with an SSD as my main OSX drive. I am having trouble with permissions in viewing my old hard drive, when I save a permission when I reboot the full access is changed again . What is the best way to get complete access to my old hd installed in my new Macbook?
Open the Get Info window for the old drive. Click the Lock icon on the bottom of that window and type in your password. In the permissions area click the Plus sign ( + ) and Add your Username to it and set it to Read & Write. Close that window. you should now have full access to all the files.

I am unable to connect to my RackSpace Windows Server via ARD. I have added a computer entering the ip address, username, and password but I can't establish a connection. I am missing a setting or to step that is different in ARD?
ARD only works with Windows computers if the Windows computer is running VNC server software. Even then it can only control and observe. Do you have this installed?

I have recently upgraded to an iphone 5S 4G and also updated my mac with the latest software so that i can use the icloud to back up all my stuff. It doesn't seem to be working with my contacts at all and recently added ones are disappearing, old ones are duplicating etc. The contacts icloud has the following error message CoreDAVHTTPStatusErrorDomain error 501. and I have no idea what it means. Can anyone help?
I had this problem before. I like to disable extra services to speed up my computer and I disabled the Apple Mobile Device service and had to re-enable this.
You can do that by going Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Once you have gone to the services window, look for Apple Mobile Device and right-click. Select "Properties". There should be some information about the service as well as the label "Startup Type" with a drop-down menu beside it. If it says "disabled", that is your problem; Change the selection to anything except disabled (Automatic is easier and ensures that you can sync as soon as itunes opens).
If this doesn't work, I would look into your anti-virus' settings. Good Luck!
