I recently added memory and a new hd to my mini.

Inserted snow leopard disk. it won't boot or eject the disk.

the new hard drive has a different named location on ur computer. If it was on Drive C before, it's probably on Drive D (check by going into MyComputer and navigating around the available Hard Disk Drives). Once you find the location of your music, open iTunes, Edit, Preferences, Advanced, and click the Change button by the folder address box. Good luck

  • I lost my "recently added" file and can't get it back.

I lost my "recently added"  folder and can't get it back.

If the "recently added" playlist is no longer visible under your lists of playlists, you can just make a new one and set it with the parameters below.
In iTunes, go to File, New Smart Playlist. In the dialog box that appears, change the settings to look like the one in the screen grab:
These are the exact settings from my default recently added smart playlist. Customize to your liking.
    Hope that helps...

  • On MacBook 10.6, in iTunes 10.3.1, music downloaded from CD, copied from Recently Added, pasted into named New Playlist Folder, is displayed there but can then disappear from this folder. What am I doing wrong?

QUESTION:     On MacBook 10.6.7, in iTunes 10.3.1, music downloaded from CD, copied from Recently Added, pasted to named New Playlist Folder, is displayed as a list but can later disappear. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi, Mylenium,
Thanks for your prompt reply, I'm afraid it hasn't helped. I don't see anything wrong in my device manager.
I have also gone and updated every driver, especially the motherboard chipset and the Sata Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver.
Unfortunately, this hasn't made any difference.
    Any other suggestions?
    Many thanks in advance!

  • I recently added Yosemite and now can't get Word program to open.

My system: Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: MacBookPro7,1 Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores:
L2 Cache: 3 MB Memory: 4 GB Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz Boot ROM Version: MBP71.0039.B0B SMC Version (system): 1.62f7.  Running OS X Yosemite, which was recently added.  When I try to open WORD program it gives me a message indicating; To open “Microsoft Word” you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime.  I have done this several times and have confirmed each time that the correct Java is installed on my computer.  Despite this, I still can not open WORD.

This is what you installed: Apple Java 2014-001? What version of Office do you have installed?

  • I wanted to clear my Recently Added playlist and I accidently deleted it.

I wanted to clear my Recently Added playlist that was a premade playlist and I deleted it. Now when I add songs to iTunes, the songs just go straight onto another playlist and I can never find them right away. I was wondering if there was any way I could get the Recently Added playlist added back onto my playlists as a pre-set playlist so that when I add new songs, they go straight to the Recently Added playlist.

The default playlists are just Smart Playlists and you can recreate them. In iTunes go to File>New Smart Playlist
    Recently Added:
Match the rule "Date Added">"is in the last">"1">"Days" make the days and the interval to suit yourself, you can have days, weeks or months.
    Check the box "Live Updating"

  • Changed my DVD player, added memory and itunes stopped working...

I'm frustrated. I recently added a DVD player to my PC and itunes stopped working properly. It gave me a "Warning: Registry settings used by itunes devices for importing & burning cd & DVD are missing by installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall itunes.".
I uninstalled and installed itunes again using the control panel and I get the EXACT same warning after reboot! Does anyone have a clue as to the problem?
I go to play song in my library and it passes over my selection down the library of many new albums that I installed, and stops on the older album installs and plays only those albums. Very frustrating that they offer no itunes software support.

It gave me a "Warning: Registry settings used by itunes devices for importing & burning cd & DVD are missing by installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall itunes.".
In this context it's almost certainly a device filter conflict in the Registry. The following document would be the best place to turn next:

  • My Photos missing recently added album, and Photo Booth's irritating

Air 2 8.1.2. Just noticed that the 'recently added' album is missing from My Photos. I've restarted my iPad, but it ain't come back, to the best of my recollection, I've not hidden anything (didn't think those albums could be hidden, anyway). I've 'recently deleted', 'panoramas', 'favourites', and a couple I've created, but that's it. can anyone hazard a guess as to where it's done a runner to, and how I can apprehend it and put it back where it belongs…?
Secondly, how do I hide the 'photo strip' which runs along the bottom of the screen, just above the toolbar, in Photo Booth…? I don't use it all that often, but I'm certain the last time I did, the teken pics 'slipped' into a kind of invisible 'packet' at the bottom-right of the screen, just like they do when you're using the normal camera. im 99% certain I've not toggled a 'show/hide photo strip' setting anywhere, because there don't appear to BE any settings in PB. I'd really rather have it back the way it was, because having that strip there obscures too much of the screen.
    Cheers, mateys!

It sent - HTF did that happen…?! It's also only listing my old Touch which I no longer own. Y'see, this is the main reason I don't don't fora, they confuse the feck outta me, that and they have people in 'em; actual hominids of the species Homo sapiens sapiens with whom I'm forced to interact.
Sorry, about that  I'm sure you can fathom out what the header's supposed to read. Why in the name of all that is sentient, won't Apple allow edits…?!  Now it's made me reply to me own post, and I'm thought of as crazy enough round these parts!
You'll get your just desserts, Apple, one day it'lol all go pear-shaped and your empire will crumble…
You'll be pleased to know I'm now out of puns de pomme.

  • X58 Pro-E - Added memory and having problems.

    Good evening.
    My original setup was:
MSI X58 Pro-E, running V8.14 BIOS (think it's listed as 8.E on MSI site)
    i7 920
    6GB (3x2GB) of A-Data DDR3 1333 (Part number HY63I1B16)
    eVGA GTX  285
    Win 7 64bit Ultimate
I tried to find the exact brand/model of memory to add, but was unable.  I ended up buying this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211451
I installed the memory and BIOS saw it all.  Windows started up fine, reports 12GB, but the 2nd night after installing the memory, I got a bluescreen.  I went ahead and ran memtest86, which reported several errors.
I took quick pic of memtest86 showing several errors here:
Before I RMA the memory, I wanted to make sure it isn't a configuration issue, rather than just bad memory.
Here's a pic of the memory tab from CPU-Z:
SPD tab (slot #1 "old" memory):
SPD tab (slot #2 "new" memory):
And here's a pic from SIW's memory tab:
What do you think?  Bad memory or configuration issue?  Thanks for your time.

The mixed config is not ideal. You may want to try however to set it all manually in the BIOS and see if you are able to get it to work.
    Disable XMP in the BIOS.
Set your mem ratio so that your mem speed is at 1066. Set your timings manually to 9.9.9.25 or 8.8.8.22 and test.

  • Adding memory and upgrading to Leopard on PowerBook G4

I have a PowerBook G4 with OS X Panther and am considering upgrading to Leopard. Installing Leopard requires at least 512MB of memory and I only have 256MB. I've read that PB's can be picky with the type of memory installed and I'm looking for advice on making an informed purchase.
According to my manual the maximum I can have is 1.25GB and it says I need PC2700 DDR 266 type RAM. I also read somewhere on Apple that my PB requires PC100 type RAM, so which is it, or can it actually take either one? And are the GHz a crucial factor in determining what type I need? How do I find out the GHz I have on my computer?
Also, does anyone think upgrading this computer (it's 5 years old) is worth it? It only has 23GB of space left which I know Leopard will use a lot of just to install. Would it also be worthwhile to add more hard drive space (I'm considering an external hard drive to store photos and documents to save space), or in the long run will I be better of getting a newer mac? Physically my PB is in great shape and it still looks brand new, it's just outdated, but I don't want to put a lot of money into it if it's not worth while for long term use.
Thanks for any help you can give and sorry if these questions have been answered already. I wasn't having any luck finding specific info on this.

If your PowerBook is the 867 Mhz model or 1 Ghz model it will take "a single 200-pin PC2100 DDR SDRAM SO-DIMM memory module.". If it is anything greater it will take "a single 200-pin PC2700 DDR SDRAM SO-DIMM memory module."
You can find what processor you have by clicking the Apple logo on the top left hand corner of the screen and clicking "About this mac"
Basically, 1 GB stick plus 256 mb soldered memory = 1.25 GB Max.
Is it worth it? Well, since you probably can't buy a new laptop for anything close to a Leopard/RAM upgrade I'd say it is worth it. But if you are considering RAM+External HDD+Leopard you could be well onto your way into the price range of a second hand Intel Laptop, any of which would be significantly faster than your PowerBook.

  • Latest update: Cant right click on recently added tunes and add to playlists?

Anyone know why I can no longer right click on a newly added song and add it to a play list?

Add-ons in the Sidebar aren't a standard feature in Firefox, which extension did you install that added that feature to Firefox? Like maybe All-in-one-Sidebar?

  • Adding Memory and Hard drive

I have an original MacBook Pro, running 2.33 GHz with 2 GB Ram and 160 GB hard drive. I am looking to add memory and I was wondering if anyone knows how much my book is upgradable to. And I was also wondering if it's possible to put a bigger hard drive in. When I look at Apple memory, my MacBook Pro isn't even listed. Thanks.

You can get some idea of the "level of ease/difficulty" involved in replacing the HD from http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Mac/MacBook-Pro-15-Inch-Core-2-Duo/Hard-Drive-Replac ement/115/10/Page-1 or http://www.powerbookmedic.com/Manuals/15-inch-macbook-pro-manual.pdf
It is certainly harder than with a MacBook, or with the very latest model of MBP, but it is not too bad. Certainly easier than with an iBook or some of the PowerBooks , for example, as long as you proceed carefuly and cautiously, keep track of where the screws came from and *use the right tools*.
    Cheers

  • I recently upgraded laptops and my new laptop asks me to authorize this one for purchases I made years ago and I don't remember the password.  Can you use the old backup discs to restore them?

There are quite a few songs, videos, television shows, and movies I purchased years back, well before the cloud with two different user id's that I don't remember the passwords for, and when I try and get to the security questions, it says the information doesn't match.  I'm ****** because I'm sure they will have some convenient excuse for not getting me out of this mess with my new laptop, but as long as my old one works, I can still access the previous library, where EVERYTHING plays.  How can the new laptop not be recognized when I had all of the information transferred from the old laptop?  Now I have to hope my old laptop doesn't crap out for a few years longer!!

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account.  I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there.  On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back.  Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email.  The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

  • Contacts are missing information since the upgrade, how do I get the information back?  They were recently added contacts and I am missing info on about 100 of them.  Anyone know how I can get the info back?

Itunes said I needed to do the upgrade to the new OS.  So I downloaded the new OS and all the contacts that I have added over the last 2 months just have names and no other information.  I tried re-syncing with my computer and that did not work and now that info is missing on my computer.  Is there any way I can get the information back????

No, you can't downgrade iOS. You should be able to restore the address book on your computer from your backup, though. Windows address book probably got wiped on the first sync after the upgrade completed. It sounds like the iPhone may have been disconnected before the entire restore cycle was complete if the contact records in Windows Address book got munged.

  • Adding memory and CPUs dynamically to a VM

    Hi,
Does anyone know if these features are available with the existing release or will be available in future ones?
    Thanks

    Hi,
just note to be able to add memory, you have to start with high memory first and then decrease it.
    Regards
