I recently attempted to save my Notes in Macmail by dragging and dropping them into the Notes folder. On my most recent sync all Notes were deleted. Is there a way to undo this?

is your movie in your backup folder a Quicktime movie? Then probably only have the Quicktime wrapper in your backup folder, but not the referenced media in the file fork of the movie. If you see the full quality movie in iPhoto in QuickTime player, don't drag it from the browser to the Desktop, but use "File > Reveal in Finder > Original File" to show the movie in your iPhoto Library. Select the Movie when it is revealed and ctrl-click it to open it in Quicktime Player.
Export it from Quicktime Player with "Export to" and share it to iTunes. This way it will be converted to a .mp4 movie that embeds the missing resources.
You can drag the converted movie from iTunes to the Desktop or share it using to Media Browser to other applications.

Why does my new garageband 10.0.03 not have the legacy with sound effects or radio sound preset or applause preset???? I need these to be able to chop samples into the keyboard keys by dragging and dropping them into the keys.

I am just trying to chop samples and drop them into a track with legacy-sound effects- radio sounds, so that I can play with them and chop them onto keys. I see a bunch of videos on youtube showing you how to do it, but I can't find those kits on the newest garageband.

All these effects are part of the loops in the iLife Sound effects loop package, that was a part of the application bundle iLIfe '11 (iPhoto. iMovie, GarageBand '11). These loops are neither installed by GarageBand 10.0 or GarageBand '11, nor MacOs X, you need an iLife '11 installer disk to get these loops.
And GarageBand 10 also does not have the Sound Effects instruments any longer, that let you drag samples onto keys. It is one of the sorely missed features, that have been discontinued in the new version GarageBand 10. even if you install the previous version, GarageBAnd '11, to add the Sound effects instrument to GarageBand 10. it will not work properly, because GarageBand 10 will not save the custom instrument with the samples. You will have to complete your song in one session, without quitting GarageBand.

I recently uploaded some pics and videos from an ipad and a camera. I put them all on Iphoto and backed them up in my personal folder. I then trimmed one of the videos and dragged and dropped that into the master folder(pictures). Its now gone!! HELP!?!?!

I rencently added all my photo's from my Ipad and Camera. There were photos and videos on both. The import was done through Iphoto and then transfered to my backup in my pictures folder. I then took one of my videos and trimmed it and then addded that trimmed version to my back up(pictures)albumn. It asked If i wanted to replace existing photo or cancel and I hit replace. Now the file plays great on Iphoto but I am unable to share it through any form(facebook, Imessage etc) and in my back up(pictures) it says the file in only 87kb. I dragged and dropped it from Iphoto to the desk top along with another important video, when I hit get info on both of them one of them is a full sized video(50mb or whatever) and the other one(the one I am trying to recover) is only the 87kb. I want this full file avaiable to me how can I get it back?? it is already deleted off the camera??? please please help me.

Every time when Firefox is minimized and I tab into it I can't use it. It's completely locked. Is there a way to fix this?

Every time when Firefox is minimized to the tray and I open it up again i can't use it until I click on a tab that's not focused or on the search field with the mouse. It's completely locked, I can't press ctrl+1/2/3 etc to change tab or ctrl+e to go to search. Last time everything worked like it should was on release 3.5.14
Is there a way to fix this?
Edit: I've tried reinstalling Firefox and gotten a new profile, that didn't help.
Edit2: Updated to 3.6.9 and I still have the problem.
Edit3: Just installed 3.6.11, the problem is still there.
I can't understand how 3.5.14 can work and not a singel release after that.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours. Likely not worth it for your old 2G iPod

I copied my bookmarks from Favorites folder on old computer and pasted them into the same folder, same drive, and they do not appear in the Bookmarks pulldown inside Firefox. Can you help me?

You're dealing with two different Apple ID's so that won't work and according to Apple, they cannot be consolidated.

I had the same problem after I gave my old iPad to my parents and tried to install Netflix. This is what you have to do: Open iTunes on your computer, the one you sync your iPad to. Then go to iTunes Store and search for and download Netflix app. After you download it, if your iPad is set to download new purchases it may start downloading on your iPad. If so, tap and hold to delete the app (because it is trying to install the new version on the iPad) Next step, go to the App Store on your iPad and find Netflix and it should say install since you already purchased it on the computer. Tap to install, and it will say the version is not compatible, tap to download a previous version. Click that and it will install the older version! One more thing, if and when you sync to your computer again it will say something like " Unable to install Netflix on your iPad" Just click the box to never remind you again, because it's trying to sync the newer Netflix app to your iPad, but it doesn't work so it displays the message. Drag and drop images into anchored frames -- can this be done with the images imported by reference?

My company bought a product from another company and the only manuals files that came with it were in pdf format. I am currently grabbing text out in Acrobat, then pasting and reformatting it in FrameMaker. Boring and tedious. . . .
Eventually I get to the point of importing the illustrations. There are *hundreds* of them. As a rule, we import the files by reference, to keep the chapter size smaller and to be able to double click the image to open it for modification.
However, I can drag an image file from the folder window and drop it into an anchored frame. Oooh, this is fast--way faster than all the mousework that goes into clicking file>import>file>[choosing the file then hitting the import button].
But, dang it, that copies the image into the FrameMaker file. No double-click opening. Giant fm. file size. Mad boss, shaking an SOP standards sheet in my face.
So, my question: Is there a way to import an image *by reference* by dragging and dropping them into an anchored frame?

I tried the RTF route and, in addition to getting the body text I wanted, got paragraph after paragraph of the page numbers, the illustration text, the header and footer verbiage, all randomly placed between body text paragraphs.
I did the same file twice, once by saving as RTF and deleting unwanted stuff, then repairing body paragraphs (each line of which is a seperate paragraph in the RTF file) and also by sweeping only the necessary text, then copying and pasting it page by page. The second method was a bit faster and less frustrating. Not to say that it isn't slow and frustrating in itself, but just a bit less. Less errors, too, with the second method.
Bummer about importing by reference. I don't suppose there's a way to set up recorded actions with hotkeys, is there? Like in Illustrator?

It's more likely a failed Erase Free Space, which creates a huge temporary file; that's why it looks like you have no more available drive space. You can recover from this. See these links

I recently installed iTunes 4.3.5 and can't drag and drop music into my 'music library' anymore. Every time I try to drag the music from a folder into the library, that little circle with the line thru it comes up (not allowed symbol). I've been using iTunes for years and am pretty computer savvy... I have no idea what the problem is. The only way I can add music right now is if I go to File>Add File to Library and that takes way too long, especially when adding 20-30 songs. I am using Windows 7 and I have an iPhone 4. Please help! This is extremely frustrating.

Unless you subscribe to iTunes Match, iCloud doesn't sync music. Just set up every person's devices on a separate iCloud account and your iCloud data and photo stream will remain separated. Each iCloud account will need a separate ID, but it does not need to be the same as your iTunes ID. You can continue to share the same iTunes ID and maintain separate iCloud accounts with separate IDs for iCloud.
You'll also want to use separate IDs for each person for iMessage and FaceTime. This will keep your text messages and FaceTime called separated as well. The easiest way to do this is to have everyone use their iCloud ID for these two services as well.

NTFS is your problem.
iPhoto needs to have the Library sitting on disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Users with the Library sitting on disks otherwise formatted regularly report issues including, but not limited to, importing, exporting, saving edits and sharing the photos.

Okay...no replies as yet so I've been having a play.
I have the latest version of iTunes from the Apple site and my tracks have been downloaded from the net into MP4's in one file.Now,if I try and 'DND' into any of the music folders nothing happens....EXCEPT when I hover he cursor over 'iTunes DJ'....when released the tracks can now be found in 'Recently Added' folder,and can be played.
Now...how do I get them into a folder ? Well,it's time for bed so will play again tomorrow (although I bet i'm up until 1am trying to figure it out !! ).
