I recently backed up my iPad and then I restored it to factory settings. Now, I want to restore it from the back up that I created, but it will not accept my Apple ID password. Is there any way that I can save my data?

Hi,
As I have said in the title, I was supposed to do a restore on my iPad for work. I backed up the device and then I restored it to factory settings as I was instructed. Now that all of that is complete, I tried to restore it from the back up point I created and it will not recognize my Apple ID password.  I really hope that I won't lose all of my data, but I don't know what else to do. I have tried entering my password numerous times. I really hope that someone can help me.

Restoring an iPad from an iTunes-generated backup should not require an Apple ID password.
Did you encrypt the iPad backup? If so, then trying to restore will require entering the encryption password.

I recently restored my iphone.  When attempting to set it back up it will not accept my password.  Yet when i log into the apple store i have no problem logging in using the same apple id and password.  How do i get the iphone to recognize my apple id and password?

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sigh Out of the Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • Asking for iCloud account name and password to play iTunes radio when I have done it in the past many times without this question.  Will not accept my apple id and password.  Will not save my changed password.  Where do I start?

I have a MAC with OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.2, 8GB, 2.7 GHz, intel core i5.  Until 2 days ago, I could click on iTunes radio, pick my station and listen.  Then 2 days ago, I do this and system asks for my iCloud account id and password.  Does not recognize apple id or password.  I change the password, does not save it.   Screen that lists 2 step verification asks for added security questions, I do those and still will not allow me access.  What do I do and where do I start?  I thought I should download the update to OS X.  I did that, still no change.  Please help direct me to where I need to go to fix this problem.

  • Itunes will not accept my apple id password in the store.

when I enter the store in itunes 11.0.1, a message popps up telling me to enter my password to enable automatic downloads. When I enter the correct password, the same message pops back up instantly. If I enter the wrong password, it tells me so in red. I can not do anything with the store, because it will not accept my account. I can purchase on other devices with the same account and password with no problem.

You may need to do a credit card "update" in your account.  Apparently "it" needed a re-verify because I had accessed my apple account from another computer.  Did so and it worked. Apple is opaque in many ways and it was totally unhelpful as it just kept rejecting my good password with no explanation.

  • I am trying to use ichat. trying to register but it will not accept my apple id?

just got a imac. trying to setup ichat so i can chat to friends. when i try setting up an account it lists options for AOL, mobileme etc... AOL doesnt work for me as i am in New Zealand and mobileme sends me to apple homepage to sign up using my appleID which i already have. i try using my appleID to sign into ichat but it will not let me..... anyone know whats wrong and can advise?

    Hi,
You can set up an @Mac.com name but this must use a different Email (as Contact point) that is not used already for an Apple ID.
(And yes the iChat method of selecting either @Mac.com or MobileMe and hitting the get an iChat Account will both take you to the @Mac.com registration page)
AIM have moved their Registration Page  (And the above method does not work for AIM in iChat 4 or rather it send you to the @mac.com page again - iChat 5 does send you to the AIM one - or tries to.)
I am not sure why you think you can't register from an AIM name in New Zealand
    AIM's Registration page is here
This effectively either makes an Email you type in the top box an AIM Name or creates a new name and you only link for contact purposes and Password recovery another email address.
    Just to be clear.
Names from Apple as in @Mac.com and MobileMe names are also Valid AIM Screen Names.
Apart for this they are also Apple IDs
MobileME are also Email addresses of course
(An @Mac.com name if registered before MobileMe started may have been linked with the MobileMe email system and still work as an email).
An Apple ID is generally an email based item and can be from an ISP that offers an email service or from Yahoo, Google or Hotmail etc.
An Apple ID created using this sort of Email Address is NOT an Valid AIM ID just because you created a Apple ID with it.
    To be really Clear
NOT all apple IDs are valid as AIM Screen Names.
Only Apple @Mac.com names and MobileMe (@me.com ending names) are Valid with AIM as well
If you have another Email ID you could create a New Apple ID at the @Mac.com page using that.
If you have only one you may wish to use that at AIM either as the Name or link it for password recovery to a newly created name there
    NOTES
AIM do seem to be showing that the name will be [email protected]
If this is an Active email it is new (Last 2 months or so) as it was a choice to activate a name as an email as well.
Before you could register a username with no @whateverISP.com involved.
I have so many names that I have created as test accounts (In registration and use) that I am  reluctant to work though the current Process which is on different pages so you can't see all the boxes up front.

  • TS1424 When trying to get into apps I keep getting a error message the "cannot verify identity of server" and it's not accepting my Apple ID password. I found something that said I have to accept the new terms and conditions for iCloud  but can't get in

Getting a verification error when trying to get into the apps,

I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?

  • App store will not accept my Apple ID Password

I try to connect to the app store to download and app or update existing app
i click on "get" for a free application downloadm the system just keep on asking me for password , it seems that for 3-5 sec it starts the download process and then again it asks for the password
I try to use "wrong" password and i get "wrong password" notice, so i know that i am using the rigth passward - it just wouldnt connect.
i try to "open" the option to use my fingure recognition optino for App - this is also asking for the password and go back to "close" and wouldnt allow me to use it.

Test your Apple ID & Password at id.apple.com.  Click on Manage Apple ID, and then sign in.  If it works, then try this.  Close the app.  Restart the device.  Open the app up again and try to log in.
If the password doesn't work at id.apple.com, then reset the password.
Also, take a moment to double-check that it really is the exact same Apple ID.  I've seen issues were there was a misspelling and someone ended up with two very, very similar Apple IDs ( example:  'b•••••@g•••••.com & b•••••@g•••••.comz)

  • I can't buy photo book because some pages have writing instead of pictures.  The program will not let me buy it.  Is there any way I can buy the book the way it is.

I made a photo album through iphoto.  On some of the pages I wrote paragraphs about the trip and I did not put pictures on them.  When I try to go buy the book, the program won't let me because not all of the pages have pictures.  What can I do to be able to purchase this book just the way it is.  Can I by pass that.  Please help.

On some of the pages I wrote paragraphs about the trip and I did not put pictures on them
Did those pages have frames where photos were to be placed?  If so try using a page layout that  just has text without any photos on it.

  • My family shares one apple id. Is there any way to make an apple id for each member of my family and have it all connected to the same credit card and have the same previous downloads open to download by signing in to each members personal apple id?

My family shares one apple id. Is there any way to make an apple id for each member of my family and have it all connected to the same credit card and have the same previous downloads open to download by signing in to each members personal apple id?

    Hi cindy,
If you all have individual Apple IDs, then you would be able to dowload music from a shared iTunes library on a computer, but you would not be able to sign on each individual ID on an iOS device in order to download music purchased under the original Apple ID without a 90-day waiting period between sign-ons.
    Here's what I mean:
If you were to sign on a new Apple ID on, say, an iPhone, and then were to purchase and download some music from iTunes, then you would have to wait 90 days before you could sign on the old Apple ID to that iPhone in order to download previously purchased material (and vice versa).
However, if all of the music purchased by that origjnal Apple ID is in an iTunes library on a shared computer, then you can hook up the device and selectively sync any music in that library to the device. You can also sign on any of the Apple IDs to that shared iTunes library and purchase music to be added to the library.
You would need to authorize the computer for each of the new Apple IDs.
Each of the Apple IDs would also be able to download that music purchased either by syncing to the iTunes library on the computer or by downloading it OTA on the device.
So, each Apple ID can download music, movies, etc. purchased with that Apple ID OTA to the device. Also each Apple ID can sync any music, movies, etc. that are in the iTunes library on the computer regardless of who purchased them.
The only other thing you would need to remember is that if an App needed to be updated, then the original Apple ID that was used to purchase that App would come up, and the password that goes with that Apple ID would be required to do the update.
    Hope that helps,

  • I accidentally deleted my entire iTunes library after updating my iTunes.  Is there any way that I can get these songs back?

After clicking on an update for iTunes, the only change I noticed was the addition of about 9000 sound bytes, which was ridiculous and wasteful.  I started to delete all the sound bytes, but that was going to be a huge chore.  Instead, I moved the songs I had in my library to a playlist called "backup library."  I then chose to "select all" under edit to highlight the rest of the 9000 soundbytes and delete these in one click.  At first, this seemed to work.  I still had the saved songs in my playlist, and the 9000 sound bytes went to the recycle bin.  I then emptied the recycle bin to get rid of the sound bytes.  When I checked iTunes again, there were no songs anywhere in the library or playlists.  Is there any thing you can do to help restore all of these songs (and none of the sound bytes) to my IPOD Classic?  Is my account saved with a back-up of everything I had saved in my iTunes library and playlists?
I have about 1500 songs in my IPOD Classic that are not affected by this error.  Is there a way that I can transfer all of these songs back into my iTunes library?
I would appreciate any help with this problem.

    Hello bigali,
Your options are kinda limited. I would use this first:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and ...
Then check here for the non-purchased items:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022
You want to rebuild the library first, then sync the ipod.
Here is a good idea for when your done:
How to back up your media in iTunes
    Hope this helps.

It's not designed to work like this. When you sync, the iPod stores some information that basically says 'this iPod belongs to computer xyz'. Apple did this to prevent copyright issues (syncing someone else's music).
If you really want to do this, you'll have to at least tie both iTunes installations to the same account. Maybe have them sync with each other.
