I recently encountered a problem playing POGO games via firefox.

on June 18 Pogo changed the programing on its home page. Immediately after those changes were installed, I was unable to play the embedded games on Pogo when using Firefox BUT was able to play them using Internet Explorer. Here is what I learned today. I have a Zone Alarm tool bar on both IE and Firefox. In both I block website tracking of my computer usage. However, ONLY after I strop blocking facebook connect tracking, can I continue to use Firefox to play those games. I still have facebook connect blocked in IE and can play the games anyway. So, why is it that this setting only prevents Firefox from allowing game play?

What does this setting?
If this is a specific ZoneAlarm setting to block the cookies of web pages (domains) then you need to contact ZA for advice if it behaves differently in IE than in Firefox.

  • I followed solution to fixing the problem of pogo games not working by re-installing Firefox 3.6.13 but I am still having the problem. Please help. thank you.

I tried fixing the problem of not being able to access the card site of pogo.com by following the 'How do I re-install Firefox 3.6.13. But alas the pogo game is still is not loading.

This is my solution, and it didn't come easily. After days of turning myself and my computer inside out, I remembered that AVG (antivirus) installed an update a few days ago and realized that's when my Pogo card games trouble started. So I went and disabled the AVG and checked the games. The games loaded! I went into the AVG settings and was able to revert to the previous version. Now I'll have to rethink AVG, but I can play Pogo games once again! Hope this helps.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals.

  • Can i play pogo games on a new mac ?

can i play pogo games on a new mac ?

Yes,There Are Ways You Can Play Windows Games On A Mac,It`s Called The W.I.N.E. Project And The WINE Project Allows You To Operate Windows Programs On A Mac And Linux System.Remember That The WINE Project Can Be Unstable At Times,And May Cause Your Mac To Freeze Up.The Best Way To Play Windows Games On A Mac Is By Using Something Called VMware Unity. It`s An Emulator That Can Emulate 3D Windows Games.Below Is Some Instructions On How To Get It And Set It Up.
    -------VMWare Unity
1.Go To The Official Vmware Website And Go To The Vmware (Mac) Section.
2.Find The VMware Workstation For Mac And Download It.
    4.After Downloading VMware,Install It.
    5.Open Vmware Workstation
6.Before You Create A New Virtual Machine,You Need To Have A Clean Copy Of Windows XP Or Higher.
7.After That,Create A New Virtual Machine That Has Enough RAM And CPU To Emulate The Game You Want To Play.
8.Start The Virtual Machine And Install Windows.
9.After Installing Windows On The Virtual Machine And Your On The Windows Desktop,Install The VMware Additions.
10.After That,ALWAYS RESTART THE VIRTUAL MACHINE.
11.Install The Game You Want,Have A CD or ISO Image.
12.After Installing The Game,Start The Game In The Emulator And Look For A Button That Says "Unity Mode" And Click It.
13.After That,All The Applications You Were Running In The Virtual Machine Will Go Right To Your Mac Dock And You Can Play The Game Right On Your Mac Desktop.
14.When Your Finished With Your Game,Close It And Open The Main VMware Application And Click "Stop Unity" And It Will Restore All Programs To Virtual Machine Desktop And There You Can Power Off Your Virtual Machine.
Vmware Is Way More Stable Than The WINE Project And I Suggest Trying That.If You Need Some Help With This On Your Mac Then Add [email protected] To Your Contacts And I Can Help You Set It Up On TeamViewer.I Hope This Helps And Tell Me If It Does!

  • Since the new firefox download was done I cannot play pogo games

Yesterday firefox added download-since then I cannot play pogo games - what do I do

Mozilla are aware of the issue in Firefox 3.6.14 and are working on a fix, no timescale but they are planning on a quick release. Firefox 3.6.15 will fix the issue with some Java applets not working, which has caused many Pogo games to stop functioning.

  • Hello! Recently encountered a problem with OSX start,  after an emergency shutdown macbook

Hello! Recently encountered a problem after an emergency shutdown macbook (it was shut off due to low battery) and now I can not boot in OS X, the fact that I can't see what became of OSX, so as I have in parallel is Windows that is loaded instead of OS X (video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oSTZhaVy9g sorry for the quality, with YouTube's nothing you can do) When you select a disk partition with OSX in Windows, via Bootcamp the same. What could it be? Maybe there is a function of the last successful run? I have the opportunity to the entire disk with OS X, from file system to programs. Moreover, OS X has remained 1password. I would be very grateful for help, because the answer is never found. I have MBP 371 ll/a with OSX 10.9.5.

Yes, I can see the partition with OS X and Windows, better watch the video, it demonstrates this point.

  • Java7 and Java6 will not work opening pogo games on firefox, but works perfectly for IE, what can I do to fix this issue?

Java will not work on the computer all of a sudden. Now when I go to open a Pogo game room up i get a Mozilla red lego piece in the corner saying "Some plug ins have been De-activated for your safety, in the box will be "Java (TM) platform SE 6 U". I have removed Java7 and reloaded it, after that not working found Java6 and loaded and reloaded it and it is not working.
Now after 3 minutes of the room not loading Pogo will give me the error message of
Java Not Found or Not Working
    Explanation:
This error means Java (one of the technologies built into most browsers) is not working correctly on your browser.
You must have Java installed on your computer in order to run Pogo games, and it must be functioning properly. Either you don't have Java installed yet, or the Web browser you're currently using doesn't support Java or you have Java (or Javascript) disabled in your browser.
    How to Fix the Problem:
Java is a free download that is required to play Pogo games. Not all computers come with Java pre-installed.
If you haven't played Pogo games before and are getting this error, you probably just need to install Java on your computer.
For instructions on installing Java for your operating system and browser click here.
If you believe Java might be installed but disabled for your browser, please be sure to enable the plugin for your browser. If you need help, click here.
If you already have Java installed and it is not disabled, your Java may be out-of-date or no longer working. In that case, your Java might need to be upgraded or reinstalled. If you need help, click here.
I have done the click here in last sentence and all it wants me to do is download Java7 which was the first reason it was not working.
Hopefully I have explained this well enough, from Mozilla this is what I get BUT if I go to Internet Explorer (which I HATE) the Java6 and Java7 work perfectly fine. So apparently the Java is downloaded correctly I just can not get it to play nicely with Mozilla and that is my main goal.
EA games help page has gone through it all with me and have proven over and over (after 1 hour sessions, 45 waits for them) Java is working on my computer perfectly with IE just not on Firefox and with the rural situation I have become dependent on Mozilla because of the no fiber optics here it has been my best and only source of successfully using the internet here in the far out part of the country.

Thank you so much, for once in my computer life I knew what the problem was, what caused it, why it was caused, what it did, what it made it do and most importantly how to fix it and to do it correctly and expeditiously. I can not Thank You all enough for all of the help! I also have Pogo mailed this to all on my friends list, where they have all learned as I have and have fixed theirs also. and the message is being spread. Thank You again, I just can not say it enough.

So in simple terms, the fix invovled ensuring the nvidia module is loaded before the bbswitch module. I'm not sure about the necessity of the things that follow but the fix may possibly also require removing bumblebee and possibly requires removing nvidia from repos and building the driver downloaded from nvidia.
This fix could be completely unrelated to the problems I was having with arch but I cannot verify the fix on arch specifically cos I installed every distro under the sun trying to get it all working and I got it to work on a non arch distro.
So... I'm not sure if I should really mark this a solved because I haven't/can't verify it on arch and technically the solution involved changing to another distro but in fact, I know it has absolutely nothing to do with arch since I saw the same behaviour on 3 other distros. If I have time, I will reinstall arch and verify but for the moment, I have a lot of work to catch up on now that I have a working nvidia driver I can actually use for dev
Anyway, what I think is going on is there is some bizarre issue with bbswitch that stops the nvidia driver from being found because on the current distro I have installed, if I have no bbswitch, no bumblebee and no nvidia modules loaded or services running etc. I can modprobe the nvidia driver and all works fine. I can then modprobe the bbswitch driver and that works too. IF I modprobe the bbswitch driver first and then modprobe the nvidia driver, I get this error that says the nvidia module cant be found. The location it prints is in some updates directory whcih is odd too because I installed from nvidia source and never installed updates at all and made sure that there were absolutely no repo nvidia drivers or updates etc.

  • Problems playing a game on Pogo

Pogo says that I need the current version of flash player to play the game.  Well I downloaded the latest version and i still cannot play the game.
When i went to the screen on Adobe for flash player verification it said it's not installed.  I need help.

    "User-Agent Strings"
That doesn't mean a lot, I'm sure, but it's the root of your problems, and Flash Player has nothing to do with it.
Microsoft "rewrote" the User-Agent Strings for the abomination they call their latest and greatest browser. User-Agent Strings are what websites use to identify the browser you're using and provide the proper content for it's browser engine, like ActiveX stuff, and Flash or HTML5 video. Thanks to the geniuses in Redmond, WA, the User-Agent Strings for IE11 (which has a Trident engine), ID it as either "Gecko" (Firefox) or "Webkit" (Chrome). Problem is: when the site the directs to the content for one of these two engines, the Trident engine in IE can't intepret it and the site then sees IE as an "unidentified" browser.
The problem with an unidentified browser is that the plug-ins in that browser aren't recognized either, so even though you're up to date, it says you need the latest Flash Player when you use IE11. YouTube... has converted to HTML5 video so if it doesn't detect Flash Player, it can display HTML5 (MP4) video which requires no plug-in to play. Facebook and Pogo can't do that, because HTML5 doesn't apply to games... only video.
Microsoft has no plans to "fix" the mess they've created because they think it's a great idea to block you out of the websites you visit.
They recommend using "Compatibility View" and pretending that you're using an older verison of IE... Problem with that is that it's seen limited success, and you have to enable it for EVERY page that has problems... individually.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • I cannot play Pogo games for the past two days, get various reasons and cannot talk to someone who will help

I am a member of Club Pogo and the past two days have been unable to play the games by using Firefox. The most frustrating thing is that I am old, cannot follow ALL of the instructions and feel I need to talk to a real live person to take me step by step to the proper categories so I can once again play my games without all of this hassle. PLEASE send me a phone number so I can enjoy my games.

Pogo games usually use the Java plugin.

  • Why does Firefox load an old links (from e-mails or a previously played POGO game) when it first opens instead of my homepage?

Every time I receive an (Outlook) e-mail with a link, Firefox will open and navigate to the link, but then seems to remember and reopens that link every time I start Firefox, instead of loading my homepage. If I receive another e-mail (with a new link), and I navigate to the new link or the wife plays a POGO game then it opens each time I start Firefox. I currently using version 4, but the problem has been going on since approximately the last 3 or 4 updates.

Open the Firefox preferences (from the "Tools" menu, choose "Options"). In the "General" section, you can change the "When Firefox starts..." option to show your home page, instead of showing your tabs from last time.

  • Cannot load java so I can play pogo games

While trying to play a game on Pogo.com it asked me to enable java. I went in to add-on java thru mozilla and could not get it to add. Cannot remember why as I had been trying to play games on pogo for the last hour and a half thru mozilla and had not been successful. I did try 3 separate times to make sure I was not missing anything.
(The other games I had tried did not load properly and I attributed that to problems with pogo.com)
So my issue is why was I not able to do the add on with java? and then why was I not able to play pogo?
I loaded Mozilla because I was having problems with explorer and the blogs said to try mozilla as they were having better luck playing here. After reading some of the answers that were a year old it seems that there were similar issues before but it did not offer any advice on fixes for the problems.
So it would be helpful to have a fix. Please help with my beginner computereze as I don't always speak the proper geek as my husband puts it. And he is not available to help me out with this for a while.
    Thank you.
