I recently found my Ipod touch 1st generation and was trying to erase all the content on the ipod.  It now won't turn on at all, it looks like it is working but it just never goes to the homescreen.  any ideas?

I have tried connecting it to the computer and that doesn't seem to work either.  At this point I do not know what else to do.  Can anyone help me get this Ipod touch fixed?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
