My family has 1 computer where everyone but me syncs all their devices, I had a PC and had my own library but all on one account. I recently got a MacBook Air and want to get my library from my PC onto my Mac. I tried getting it from icloud but instead I got everyones music all together and none of my playlists where there. Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the iTunes Library.itl file in the moved iTunes folder.

Then delete what you don't want.
You will need to authorize yrou computer for the iTunes account yoru mother has.
You should create & use your own iTunes account for any more purchases.
You don't need to export anything and definitely don't need to (and shouldn't) convert anything.

The ipod is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You should copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

Great news .. i had some help and he suggested i go to finder and click on Force Quit - which then shows you open applications and you can choose which one to close. i clicked on Mail and it closed. I was then able to re- open with no problems. hope this helps somebody else. Happy Easter

Did you buy from the App Store? When you downloaded Aperture from the App Store, you only need to sign into the App Store with the Apple ID you used to buy Aperture and to download it to your Mac Book Pro from the "Purchased" tab at the App Store. Your licence covers the installation on all your Macs for private purposes.
If you bought a licence key from the Apple Store, not the App Store, copy the installer you downloaded to your Mac Book Pro and run it there. Then unlock Aperture with your licence key.

If you do not have an iPod and have an external Hard Drive you can still follow most the steps there to transfer your iTunes to your PC, just replace the words/steps for iPOd with "External Harddrive"
Wireless isn't that heavly recommended for this because of how wireless can suddenly drop signal, but you can just copy the whole iTunes folder and send it over to the new PC over your network. Keep in mind tho any music you have outside the iTUnes folder will not transfer over and will show up in iTunes on the new PC with a ! mark beside it

Far as we know, the iPod is migrated from iTunes acount on the Mac.
Apple only allows iTMS purchased music reversed onto the same named/authorized account.
There is third party software that does the rest, but we are not allowed to mention such software here.
