I recently got a new iPod and I have money on my account but it won't let me use it unless I answer security questions but the questions aren't mine so how do I fix it
I cannot purchase items because it's says since it's the first time I'm purchasing items on this device so I have to answer security questions but it's not my security questions
If it is your Apple ID account you should know the answers...if you cannot remember, contact AppleCare at http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 and ask to speak with the Account Security Team, or the site from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699

I got a new ipod and i tried to transfer my songs but some of the songs will not work on it
I recently bought a new ipod and i tried to transfer my old songs from my old ipod onto it, but some of the songs will not transfer even though i bought them through itunes. do you know how to fix this problem?
So you are saying that some songs do sync to the iPod from this iTunes library, right?
What is the source of the non-syncing songs? What is the format? Is it different from the songs that do sync? -
Help!
There is no such thing as a "sub-account." Also, you probably mean iTunes library, when you say "account." Your "account" in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store to make purchases. iPods are associated with an iTunes library, not with an Apple ID (iTunes Store account). You'll need to clarify...
So, this is what I think you are saying. You previously shared an iTunes library on a computer with your friend. Your old iPod was synced to that iTunes library.
You got an iPhone, and at that time, you set up your own iTunes library. Is that on a different computer? How does the iPhone affect your question about the iPod?

We got a new computer and have logged in to Itunes, but where did my music go? How can we find it?
They will not magically appear on another computer.
Your music will only be where you put it.
Copy it from the old computer or your backup copy of the old computer.
You buy one and only one download. It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
Hope all goes well. -
I seem to be stuck in apple ID ****. First the password was expired only two minutes after I finished setting up the account and then the new password was invalid. I don't know what to try next but this is making me crazy. And I'm locked out for eight hours for too many attempts at answering questions that I never set up in the first place. I don't know what gives but something is way off. I need to set up this iPad for work but I can't get past the login.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. Some glitch occured and you have to restore/erse the iPod. Y will have to restore from an existing backup if y ohave one.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

How can My husband and I share music we have purchased through the itunes store? We each have an itunes account. I have turned on home sharing but do not know how to save his music (which was originally my music) to my iphone. Thanks!!
If it is in your itunes on your computer, then select it to sync just like everything else that you sync.
The music must be on your computer.

I have money in my itunes account but it won't allow me to purchase apps on my ipod touch. Any suggestions?
Sounds like you have multiple Apple IDs, which causes a myriad of issues. Go here to straighten it out. Be forewarned that it's a pain.

Note that I have also tried creating several different Apple IDs in the hope this would solve the problem, however it has failed to do so.
That means there is a common email address( or maybe a phone number if one ID is associated with an iPhone with iOS 6). On each device go to Setting>Messages>Send and receive and make sure that the same email address or phone number is not listed on both devices.

Recently got a new iPod Touch 4th gen; I had previously backed up to iCloud and subscribed to iTunes Match, and then wound up syncing the new iPod to my MacBook Pro; all iCloud tunes were downloaded to Mac but won't all sync to the iPod after multiple attempts, despite all songs showing properly on the Mac and multiple syncs occurring after all songs were properly reflected on the Mac. I updated iTunes Match from the iTunes Store menu as well pre-sync.
I should mention that I had previously had the library on a Dell (which is still running) and shared it on my home network. While all iTunes purchases now show in the Dell, the Mac is the device I use for all syncs.
There appears to be no rhyme or reason to the iCloud physical sync failure - some songs were legacy, some were purchased via the PC, some on the old iPod.
The Mac shows all the songs correctly and none show iCloud status -all have been downloaded, but the downloaded songs that were previously showing up as iCloud based aren't syncing to the iPod.
Is there any way to force all music being seen by my iPod as iCloud to download to so I can listen to them offline? Is there a way to force the sync from iTunes? The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts. Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone. -

I recently got a new computer and it wont sync with my ipod. How can i get my music and stuff on my computer?
iPods and other iDevices are not backup or storage devices.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder (and all other desired data) from the old computer to the new computer. -

Ok so sorry for clogging the community!! I figured it out - you have to copy your videos into itunes manually. I did that, synched and all good!

I have an iBook G4 running on OS X 10.4.11 and I just got a new ipod and can't figure out how to get it updated to be able to sync my ipod PLEASE HELP
You could go hunting for a fair price on a refurbished or restored Intel-based Mac or MacBook, as most early models of CoreDuo and Core2Duo can run Snow Leopard 10.6.8, and some much more recent.
The Apple Store's Special Deals section that is online has some fairly recent examples of hardware with an OS, original accessories as noted, power cord, and complementary one year coverage. Eligibility for extended AppleCare plans are noted & may be available for various items in the store. Subject to availability. Refurbished. Like new. The price difference can be about the same as the additional two year AppleCare plan may cost, so get that too.
Third party repaired restored or available through other channels vary in quality, quantity, condition, and may be lacking in some or most original accessories; they should include basic hardware as originally equipped and have the boot-install software disc set as intended for that build model & year specification, included.
Auction sites rarely have that much of a kit together, w/ missing discs, scruffy, extra fees, etc. On the other hand, companies that restore and repair Macs for a living and are authorized Apple service centers may have something, if you aren't in the market for something holiday new or really quick. Older models if reasonably refurbished can still shine years later.
Hopefully this helps somewhat.
Good luck & happy computing!
