i recently had my computer fixed as it was loaded with viruses. Also I finally got my IPad 1 back from someone who had "borrowed" it for a year. It no longer worked, but in the case i had written down my old apple id. i had purchased 3 other ipad's since then and changed my id. i typed the old id and was delighted to see that i had over $1000 worth of dowmloaded media. i want to use this old acct number on one of my other IPads to avoid confusing two accts, but when i attempted transferring media onto computer it said i needed to first download bonjour. i have been trying to figure out how, but computer genius i am NOT. could someone please help me? i really appreciate any advice you could offer steering me in the right direction with this. thank you, stacey v

Bonjour is a program that is installed on your computer along with iTunes, so you will want to first uninstall iTunes and all of its related components:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

Just be careful with Pages 5, it is not strictly an upgrade.
Apple has actually removed over 90 features and some work can be very difficult in the newer version.

The security questions will only be asked on the first purchase on a computer or device (though people have occasionally posted that they've asked for them when it isn't the first time) - I'm not aware of any way to change that. You can force the password to be required on your iPad via Settings > General > Restrictions > Require Password set to 'Immediately' (the default is a 15 minute period during which it doesn't need re-entering)

I've discovered that all tones purchased will be downloaded as ringtones, BUT they can be utilized as tones and assigned as alert tones on the iPhone...

Launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store / View My Account
Click: Edit Payment Information
Make sure you have the correct Security Code.
Then click: Done

You may have already checked the settings, but it still sounds like you have system sounds muted.
If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

I had a problem recently with a bug in uevnts. I found a workaround for it, However when I went to open a bug that had similar symptoms the user got mad and closed the bug. Could someone please explain to me what I need to do to correctly file a bug report, and please don't say read the wiki. As in order to get log files, I need to know where they are, etc...

What questions remain after consulting the wiki? Maybe you can post the bug report in question, so it will be easier for others to point out how you could have responded more constructively. First general place to look for log files is /var/log/*.

I just got home from work where my iPad was working normal, but when I got home I pulled out my iPad and there's nothing but a black screen. I've tried to hold on the on buttone and the start button on the bottum front of the screen and so far nothing Why

Unexplainable screen outage. Is there any ideas as to why a perfectly working screen would turn black and not be able to reopen? I was using at work, storeds it in my briefcase and when I got home I turned my iPad back on to work on my music files, but all I received was a black screen I've tried to hold town the on - off button at the top of the screeen and also the small button pad at the bottom of the screen, all with no changes. I use e-trade and a couple of times, years back, I found them behind the Java updates.
So, now I install new Java platforms on my backup disk and test the streaming data on that first because I know it will be over-written that evening with my nightly backup.
Of course, since I began doing that there hasn't been a problem. Do the same with printer driver updates.

Can's connect to itunes store. I have had this problem for a while. My computes says there is something wrong with the network, but the network is up and running fine.

I want to buy music from the iTunes store, but when I try to connect it says that there is a network problem. My network is connected and up and running fine. I went throught the steps of my norton software (2008) like the system told me and I still can't connect the same message appears. Can someone help me discover and fix this issue. I am having the same issue. I cannot connect at all the the ITunes store. I can do certain things on ITunes, but it is not working correctly.
