I recently installed an Add-On to my Safe Mode Firfox. Now it won't let me open new tabs. Why?
I just added the french dictionary and now I can't open new tabs. I can right-click and open links in new tabs, bu tI can't open blank ones.
You should really read the manual.

Restore. When given the choice, choose to use backup.
"And how can I check to see if the pics and videos are on my computer somewhere first??"
They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

I went to install OSX since it needed to be updated, but now it won't let me install it.
I went to the app store and it said I had an update for the software. I continued on, waiting for it to get to the install page and I tried to install it but it said my hard drive was damaged, but it was working perfectly fine a few minutes before. I went to repair the disk, but it said there was a problem. I went to varify it, but it stopped and said error, saying that the numbers didnt match up. I had to partition my external hard drive so that I could continue using my laptop for school. Does anyone know why this could be or what I could do to fix this?
You cannot perform anything repairs or formatting without first booting from a different device such as a bootable installer DVD or in the case of Lion and later the Recovery HD. The latter is done as follows:
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the arrow button below the icon.
If you still cannot boot the computer to the Utilities screen, then you either have no Recovery HD or it's damaged. Your option, then, is to use Internet Recovery provided your computer can do so: Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery and all models thereafter.
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Once the menu appears you can select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. Use Disk Utility to Repair the HD as well as Repair Permissions. Then select Restart from the Apple menu. You can try updating again.
Be sure you also have sufficient space on the hard drive. If you have less than 15 GBs of free space, then you need a bigger hard drive or you need to move enough of your files to another hard drive until you have at least 20 GBs free. -
I downloaded creative suite onto my imac yesterday and then tried to unisntall it today as i wasn't sure if i did it correctly. I dont know if i uninstalled it properly. but now when i try to re install it it says that the 'install' is damaged because the .dmg file was already installed yesterday by preview.

I recently synced my ipod. Now it won't let me open my games?
How can I get them to open without having to download them again?
The only thing that comes to mind is either deleting the games and then reinstalling from the App store, or connect to iTunes and do a full restore. Both of which will require you to re-download them.
Do other downloaded apps work?
Have you tried a simple restart? (Hold the sleep/wake button until it offers to turn off, then turn it back on.) -
I am unable to access my LR5.7 Catalog of my recent holiday. I am running Windows 7 (64Bit) and recently installed and then uninstalled DxO Optics Pro. The error message says it "cannot be opened because another application already has it opened.Quit the other copy of Lightroom before trying to launch" The problem is, that I can only see one copy of LR5 open and cannot locate the ".lrcat.lock" file for the specific catalog I want to open. I have tried re-booting my computer, but this did not work.
Thanks Geoff. I was finally able to locate the ".lrcat.lock" file relevant to the catalog I want to open. Once I deleted it, LR5 was able to access my images. Problem solved. THANK YOU

I downloaded the new version of Mozilla and tried to install an add-on to allow me to set the home page for new tabs. The app says it has downloaded but does not open new tabs as my home page (google) - any suggestions what I can do?
I've been working on this all day!!! I've tried everything I know of and can't get it to load either. Sounds like lots of people are having problems. Here is what I have so far...I have uninstalled EVERYTHING on my pc from apple and reinstalled itunes to no avail. I have tried all sorts of things I've read as fixes online. NOTHING has worked. Here is something interesting that i have noticed though. my main pc (which is the one i have always managed my itunes account with for years) is a 32 bit system running windows 7. Yesterday I installed itunes for the first time on my new netbook which is a 64 bit (windows 7) system and it works just fine. i have three other laptops (all window 7) in my household that are all 64 bit operating systems and ALL have updated to 10.5 and THEY ALL work fine. this is FOUR 64 bit systems ALL updated w/10.5 that work and ONE that is a 32 bit that will not. Can't get any help from apple. their suppot *****! I want to get someone on the **** phone or a live chat but cant. *** APPLE????? please let mw know if you find SOMETHING i can try next. I'm out of ideas and patience!

Need a help relating New Tab on Mozilla.
I want to be able to directly type in the address bar everytime I open a new tab in Mozilla, without clicking anything. To be clearer, it means that everytime I open the new tab, the blinking cursor is already on the address bar.
What's happening right now is everytime I open new tab, the cursor is not placed anywhere--not on the search bar on the page, not on the address bar. I should put the cursor somewhere to do something.
I tried using the about:config reset (1) and installing custom new tab (2), but both do not work.
When I tried the about:config reset the Reset button is not highlighted (I assume it means it's default already), and the Custom New Tab doesn't yield in different result.
What confuse me is 2 days ago my Mozilla works just fine. Everytime I opened a new tab, the blinking cursor was on the address bar and I was able to type directly.

I read the link you copied on the first post and also tried your recommendation above. None seem to work. Even if I disable all add-ons, the problem still persists.
One other info, this problem seem to appear after I installed several program yesterday. These programs apparently installed other programs that set my homepage and main search engine to a particular website. But I installed all of these programs already. Would that be a cause of the problem?

How do I enable an add-on in Firefox safe mode?
So recently I have had a problem with Firefox crashing all the time and found out it was an add-on that was causing the problem.
I have tried opening Firefox in safe-mode to disable add-ons but they are already disabled, so I want to know how to enable an add-on and then to permanently disable it so Firefox will open normally again. . .
I have already tried to permanently disable all add-ons by using the Firefox options box but nothing happens after I click on the 'make changes and restart firefox' button. After I click it nothing happens and it remains frozen. ([https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode Safe mode Window])
So to make things short, how do I enable an add-on in Firefox safe mode?In Firefox 4 and later [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode Safe mode] disables extensions and also disables hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
You should still see a Disable button or Enable button (if you disabled them all) in the extension Manager (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) if you start Firefox in Save mode.

Safari Crash on Install, Crash on Bookmarks Tab/Cover Flow/Open New Tab
Have got the most recent Safari version installed, after it was pushed via Software Update. After going through the update process it said "Install had failed, package sent to the Trash" - however on opening Safari, it said it was version 4.0.4.
Confusing enough without adding on the fact that I can't delete items from the bookmarks bar with a complete Safari Crash, can't use Coverflow without a complete Safari Crash and can't use the option "Open New Tab" without a complete crash (although I can open a bookmark in a new tab with an Apple/Click).
Quartz Extreme is supported on my system. I've tried a cache clear/reset. Need advice/guidance. This is driving me crazy.Thanks for your advice. I have tried downloading and installing Safari as you suggested, the installer will not complete and tells me that the install has failed. I have the latest security updates.
Perhaps it is time to take the route back to Safari 3, then (once that is sorted) move forward from there. Anyway, here is a copy of a crash report from when I attempt to delete something from the bookmark bar (by right-clicking and choosing 'delete'). Maybe this will shed some light. My daughter has used my computer to log into iTunes and download music but now it won't let me download recently purchased music from my iPad onto my computer. I want to transfer the recently purchased songs onto my iPod so how can I do this now? iTunes now says that I have to wait another 55 days! There must be a way to do this since I have paid for them.
In iTunes sign out of your daughters Apple ID and sign in with your own.

I installed 6.0.2 on OS10.7.5 and now Safari won't open. 6.0.2 is just for Mountain Lion. How do I revert to 6.0.1?
I do have a cloned back-up, so I tried to just copy Safari 6.0.1 back onto my main drive—wouldn't work. Got a message that the System needs Safari and I can't touch it.
I'm trying to find a simpler way to revert than clone backwards, which takes a lot of time. And actually I never use Safari. I'm a Chrome user.
You are correct that I downloaded 6.0.2, rather than using software update. However, with many other pieces of software, if you try to install over the wrong system, you get a message telling you that the installation can't be done. Apple could have saved a lot of trouble by using this message.
I have three machines of different vintage, so one is on 10.6.8, one on 10.7.5 and one on 10.8.2. I am usually pretty careful about software updates and which system is needed. Unfortunately, in this case I used CNET download, and the description of 6.0.2 said it was for Lion and Mountain Lion. -
I recently when to England. When I returned to the US, my iPhone 5 wouldn't find the 4G network. I've tried restoring network settings, I've tried hard resets. I finally wiped the phone, and now, it won't let me restore anything. I'm kind of stuck - this is both my personal and my work phone, so I'm really in a bother here. Help!
I had "do not disturb" on in England. I did take it off airplane mode periodically, but I never actually used the network. I stuck to local wifi to do brousing and a bit of messaging. It periodically told me I was on an English network, but I didn't actually use it. And I had data roaming shut off all together.

I recently bought a new Asus laptop and moved my itunes to it. All of my files are stored on an external hard drive. In the process of importing my files into itunes on the new laptop, some artist and album info has been deleted. A lot of album art is missing as well. You can't use your account's balance for gifting, you can only use a credit card - your balance can only be used to buy content for yourself. Until you pay what you owe iTunes then you won't be able to download any items from the store on that account.
