I run Firefox on a server to display graphs for a program. I was able to save, upload and install Firefox version 21 on my server because it used the executable installation program. Versions 22 and 23 use a stub program that goes to the internet and installs the program. My server does not have an internet connection, so the stub program does not work.      I recently bought and installed Adobe InDesign CS4. It does not have some fonts I want, e.g., Papyrus Bold. I copied it from the Windows XP Fonts folder into the InDesign Font folder, which, for starters, was empty (even though when I open the InDesign application its inherent fonts are available). I have gone to online Help and tried different things, but I still cannot get Papyrus Bold when I open my file.
     Where are the InDesign fonts stored, if not in the InDesign Fonts folder?
     How can I make the fonts that are in my Windows XP to be available in InDesign?

     Thanks for your quick reply.
     I don’t see why there should be a problem with the Papyrus font I copied from Windows, since it works just fine in Word.
It is listed in the Windows XP/Fonts folder as Open Type, although in brackets beneath it has “True Type.”
     Note: the Adobe InDesign Fonts folder was empty when I first viewed it (except for my attempted copies of Papyrus and a couple of Lucidas). Where are the inherent InDesign fonts stored, if not there?

After 4 calls to apple and 8 and a half hours on the phone. The apple people does not how to solve the problem. The last thing they told me is that they will send the problem to their engineers and I will hear from them. unfortunately they have not contact me.
During the phone calls I tried putting the date and time in automatic, changing the username and password, I even tried using somebody elses username and password. Please help, facetime is my tool to telecomute, and it is hurting my job.

Did you remove Quicktime X?
On a normal install Quicktime 7 is installed in the Utilities folder and Quicktime Pro in the main Applications folder.
You will need to reinstall OS X to get Quicktime X back if you have deleted it.
I notice yor profile says 10.5.8. Quicktime X is only available on 10.6 and above.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Connect the computer to another Mac and put it in FireWire Target Disk mode, or use the Disk Utility to clone the drive or image specific folders with the USB drive as the target. After you've copied off everything you want, you'll likely need to erase the drive and reinstall the applications.
