I recently installed your new version of firefox but i still cannot see the security settingsfirefox is experiancing a problem will have to close down or how to control viruses etc and as your answer
all i want to know is how can i check for viruses etc using firefox and where can i find the security settings or are you doing that automatically,it has also crashed when i opened a vcl player
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

I installed the new version of firefox, like requested. When went to boot up again, it crashed and I could only boot up on safemode. Then I did not have my printer or sound available either. Also did not have a version to restore to, like I had in the past. A friend told me to go to run and uncheck all startup menu and reboot. You could contact Apple Support and see if they have the original discs for that machine but it would be 10.4.11 and there's no reason not to go to at least Snow Leopard, especially since the 10.6 discs would probably cost the same as a replacement set of 10.4.11 -
I understand that many versions of any pictures are still on my computer (Masters???). If I have a final I like, how do I delete all the others that are taking up space? I have already put the originals into albums, edited them, and renamed them. Can I/should I delete all other versions located in Masters, I think? If I want to keep events, but want them to include the newly edited albums, can I delete the specific event and somehow bring the photos used in the album into a new event. Understand iPhoto just keeps space or manages photos, so how can I have events that include the edited pix and clean up disk space. Thanks.

using Lion, updated, on iMac Pro.It's very simple. If you want to use iPhoto, just let it manage things as it does. Other than that: Export from iPhoto and delete the image from iPhoto. That will remove the master and all versions.
If space is an issue... use an external disk.
Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things, deleting them or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.

Just double-click on the Lion installer to install it. You should not need Disk Utility for that purpose. The Lion installer should be in your Applications folder. -
i tried to install the newest version of firefox but i couldn't. when i drag the firefox item to the application folder it asks me if i want to replace the previous version, and i click on REPLACE. After doing that i says that operation cannot be completed because i do not have some permissions to do that.

Yes, if you have used you computer and feel you have all of the settings and preferences file you need then delete it.

I love my start page. It's nice and big with the Google search engine bar and Firefox earth symbol attached. I'm positive that the new version of Firefox will cause me to lose this particular start page so I refuse to do the update. If I download the new version and this happens I won't know how to get it back (tho' I did do it once and lost the start page so I went back into my Mac time machine and got the old version back. I was so relieved.) Thank you.
If I recall correctly, you are talking about the default start page. To check if this is correct, type '''about:home''' in the awesome bar. If this is the same as your homepage, it will still be there when you update.

Do you have the "Green Arrow" icon on one of your toolbars? That usually will list your most recent downloads with a button to open the folder where they are saved.
If you don't have that, you can open the full download list using either:
* Ctrl+j
* Tools > Downloads
* History > Show All History, then click Downloads in the left column
Can you find the download listed there and click the "Open Containing Folder" button?
Are you downloading Flash or Acrobat/Reader?
For Flash try: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
For Acrobat/Reader, you may not need an update.
Firefox's plugin check site only recognizes the Adobe XI (11) series as current, but if you have checked for updates in your Adobe Reader X or Adobe Acrobat X product (Help > Check for Updates) then you do not need to update the plugin. For this older Reader/Acrobat version, please rely on Adobe for information on available updates and not the plugin check site.
