It wasn't the capital 'S' I was concerned with, it was the transposition: you had 'smpt' and it should be 'smtp' (stands for Simple Mail Transport Protocol). For sending you could also try port 587 instead of 465.
"pop.verizon.net' is probably correct.
Have you called Verizon? Their tech support has always been very helpful to me. Ask them about all of your settings.

If the problem persists, you'll probably have to make another apple id, it wont take off any games or music or apps or anything you've bought it will all stay there, i have two apple id's and i don't have a problem with anything.

If your speaker is broken, then you may need to get a repair done.
Are you unable to hear anything at all, or is it just one speaker in particular?

click on the Java pane in System Preferences. When the Java Control Panel window opens, click on the Security tab, and set your Security Level to Medium — that will allow “untrusted” applications (i.e. those without certificates from a trusted authority) to run. Press the Apply button in the lower-right corner to confirm the change, then press the OK button to close the window.
Apparently your Yahoo! card games don’t have certificates associated with them, which is why the default security setting of Java SE 7 Update 51 didn’t allow them to run.

Without having the top button, you couldn't do a hard reset.
I'd say you might be looking at backing up and restoring through iTunes unfortunatley.

iCloud doesn't sync books so you wouldn't find them in your iCloud account. I have a program called commission killer that I have downloaded and I can't open it because it says compileBot has stopped working. It then tells me to either close the program or have Windows look for a solution and then it closes without any solution. I want to be able to use this program and yet I don't know what to do to correct this. I have deleted it closed the firewall and the security program AVG but that didn't work either when I redownloaded the program. Any suggestions>?

What version of Microsoft Word is it? If it's 2004, you're SOL. If it's a newer version, you may need to re-install it. I'd say you'd have the best luck with Word 2011.

Before Firefox will load I have to stop a script message that appears saying that the script for this page is either busy or stopped working. Once I hit stop Firefox will load as normal but without doing this step it will not load at all. Once it is loaded the toolbar has not been loaded and I am told to reinstall the toolbar but I have not been able to do so.
