I recently ordered a MacBook through a local store and I was wondering if I can track the shipment?
I chose the ship to store option and was wondering if I can track the item. I see no tracking number on the email. If someone can let me know if you can track it that would be great.
Hello Gonegreen510,
Congratulations on your new MacBook purchase! I can imagine you’re very excited to get your hands on it as soon as possible, so it’s understandable that you’d want to know when it’s arriving.
After pulling up your in-store purchase via your email address you supplied when registering for the forum, I found your computer is traveling from one of our warehouses to your local store. As such, it’s not arriving through our normal mail carrier options, and we’d be unable to provide you a tracking number.
Having said that, it seems your purchase is currently on it’s on the way to our Oakland store. While I’ll keep an eye on your order for any potential updates, please know you should receive an email notifying you when it’s ready for pickup.
Thank you for your continued patience,

Yes, but that has nothing to do with the cloud.
It is simply wifi syncing between your computer and iPad over your local wifi network -

We are having old home movies put on DVD's. How do we import them to MacBook pro using Snow Leopard and iMovie 8.0.6? Can watch the movies on the laptop, but they will not import.
We took 3 video cassette 8mm that were recorded in the early 90's to a place that burned the videos onto 3 DVDs. When inserted to our Mac, the DVD player comes on to play the DVD. Opened Quicktime, but can find no way to import. Went to File>Open File>Sony_DVD_Recorder_Volume. Clicked on Sony_DVD-Recorder_Volume and it shows a file named VIDEO_TS. Clicked on that and 6 files showed VIDEO_TS.BUP, VTS_01-0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS-01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, VTS_01_3.VOB. Where is DVDxDV?

i just got my macbook pro a week ago and i was told that i will get the lion for free, if this is true, then how do i get it.
Hi,
Not that's not normal and is one of the Problems I was having before Restoring as New...
Just make sure you Sync ALL your important Info... Contacts... Music... Etc... to your Computer...
and then do a Restore as New...
i was a bit reluctant at First, because I hadn't done it before... But it was So Easy and am Really Glad I did...
Cheers,

i recently received a mac book air 11 inch for christmas ... i beliehve it was bought in the states from my father i was unaware of the specs until i opened and read it... and i was wondering if i can still do the upgrade to 8gb ram and bigger flash drive.. is this possible and for how much? its only a week old.
Your 14 days are up, however you could take your case to Apple Inc. regarding same,
however those are the stipulations.
RAM cannot be upgraded however, period, its permanent on the logic board after mfg.
As for the SSD (solid state drive), upgrading same is a bad premise 9 times out of 10.
No notebooks is a mass storage device, and you need an external HD for data redundancy and backups regardless.
data that is static on your SSD and not used very often has no logical reason to be ON the notebooks, and best saved on a superslim external HD ($60)
SSD are very expensive, even a small one, HD are cheap as dirt and users are recommended to have one regardless for many good reasons. -
Just need to know if I can or can't update??

Your MacBook Pro is not that old. It will run Mountain Lion just fine.
You may need to buy more memory. Install all you can afford - the maximum is 6 GB. If you just have 4 GB you're probably OK though. The minimum specified memory for Mountain Lion is 2 GB but you may not be pleased with its performance.
You must first install Snow Leopard. Call 800-MY-APPLE (in the US) to order it. It will cost $29 plus tax. Shipping is free. Once it is installed you can download and install Mountain Lion from the App Store.
Beware that old PowerPC apps will run in Snow Leopard, but not Mountain Lion. If that is important to you then you should consider archiving your existing system after installing Snow Leopard. -
p.s. my macbook is still under apple's limited warranty
Walk it into the nearest Apple Store and ask the Genius for help

I really need to reset it to factory settings as it has all of her information on there.
Hopefully, your friend supplied you with the discs that originally came with the computer.
Solution may be found if you search in the "More Like This" section over in the right column. -
please respond
It doesn't appear so. :-(

How do I activate/download my Adobe Creative Suite onto a new macbook? My previous computer and download was for Windows on a Dell.
The answer depends on which version of Creative Suite.
Either
install Windows on your Mac using Bootcamp or Parallels then install Creative Suite in the Windows Virtual Machine on your Mac.
Or, if you want to install natively on your Mac:
If CS6 then you can apply to Adobe for a platform swap
Order product | Platform, language swap
If CS5 then you must pay to upgrade from CS5 Win to CS6 Mac
Creative Suite 6
If CS4 or earlier then you're out of luck. You'll have to buy a new copy of CS6 for Mac or pay to join the Cloud. -
i recently bought a macbook pro and i made a new apple id. my last macbook had a different id as well and i was wondering if there's a way of transferring all my music from the other laptop to the new one without having to use my old apple id? if it makes any type of difference i have an iphone 5 so i tried transfering the music but it only transfered certain things and not my entire album.
Making a new Apple ID was the worst thing you could of done. This is very bad to do. Not sure why people do that. Your Apple ID is Your Apple ID. You only need one and it is best to only have one Apple ID for all apple devices.
Sorry I don't have any suggestions for you. -
Two previous questions may not have been as clear as I would have liked. I recently upgraded my MacBook 2008 (10.5.8) to Snow Leopard (10.6.8). With the updates came iTunes 11.1.1 and Quicktime 7.6.6. I am still using Garageband 2008 and iPhoto 2008. When I create music in Garageband I usually adjust the volume and save it. Even now when I share the Garageband created files with iTunes 11.1.1, the volime I previously set in Garageband is retained. However, when I use the music to create a slide show in iPhoto 2008 and export to Quicktime 7.6.6, the volume level I previously set is lost and seems to default to a low level. The problem seems to be either in the slide show export from iPhoto 2008 to Quicktime 7.6.6 or in Quicktime itself. Is there a work around, so that I can retain the volume level I had previously set in Garageband, a volume level that seems to transfer without problem to the new iTunes. But then iPhoto 2008 (slide show) possibly or Quicktime 7.6.6 do not cooperate. Before I did the upgrade to Snow Leopard, the new iTunes and Quicktime I had no problems with the set volume being retained in the old Quicktime. The reason I need control over the volume is that all these music files are uploaded to YouTube.
